Awesome experience for certified and non certified divers. Started with a two hour training session at 9AM in a swimming pool about 10 min away from the dive shop (took us there by van). Afterwards, they gave us an hour or so to get lunch around the area (tons of places around the dive shop). Boat left at around 1PM and took us to our first location about 20 min away. The water was super clear and we saw tons of animals including a ray, turtle, eels, tons of fish, and more! Made two different stops with unique structure, coral, and animals from both. Davíd was an amazing guide and he took lots of high quality underwater pictures for us which were airdropped/provided through a link to us free of charge. Waves were a little choppy on the boat so might want to take motion sickness medicine.

My brother and I went on a Discover Scuba (zero experience) class with Captain Tim and our instructor, Jess. We had the best time! I wasn't sure if I would be ok learning how to scuba so quickly, but Jess was amazing and helped us the entire time and gave us enough confidence to make it to the ocean floor. Honestly, I was nervous the whole time, second guessing a few times if I could really take the plunge, but I am sooooo glad I did! All my doubts and lack of confidence were completely reassured by our dive team and I can't wait to go on more dives and get my certification! Absolutely recommend Island divers Hawaii!

Did the open water course with Jason and Alaina. Couldn't of asked for better instructors, was extremely comfortable and knew I was in good hands. Thank you IDH & thank you Alaina & Jason.

Sheila on the far right and Amber on the far left! Mary was taking the picture!!!

They made everyone feel comfortable and excited before we even got in the water. Seeing dolphins in their natural habitat was absolutely unforgettable. The guides were knowledgeable and respectful of the animals, which made the experience feel even more special and responsible. We never felt rushed, and they made sure everyone had a chance to enjoy the moment. The boat was clean, well-organized, and the overall vibe was fun and relaxed. They also pointed out other marine life along the way, which was such a bonus. If you're visiting O'ahu, this is a must-do experience. They do their utmost best to address any needs and answer questions during the entire time. Our guide, Morgan, was especially fabulous! Big gratitude to him and to the rest of the crew who help make such a positively memorable experience!

We booked their 9:30am dive and on the spot, added their photo package. You can check out their ocean photographer's instagram @culliem - he takes great shots! Directions to where exactly they are located at the Haleiwa harbor was super clear. Lucky for us, we found parking right next to the boat! Staff was super clear in all of their instructions and made us all feel very safe. To be honest, I wasn't very nervous at all thanks to how safe the staff made me feel! I brought my own gear (fins, mask, and snorkel) but they provide all of that and defogger for your mask. They main things you need to bring is a towel (maybe even 2 per person), sunscreen, sunglasses etc. Hat might fly off but if you can secure it, bring it. And water! The boat ride is about 15 mins. It's less choppy in the early morning, so be sure to book the earliest ride if you get seasick. I was feeling pretty seasick on the ride back but then they played "Hawaiian Rollercoaster ride" on the speaker and that brought me back to life. We saw 2 galapagos sharks. They are attracted to the sound of the boat, and come up when they hear the motor. It was such an amazing experience to get to freedive with these creatures.

You don't need to hold on to a rope/stay right next to the boat like with other shark tours, but the crew keeps everyone safe the whole time. Soooo sick & I highly recommend taking a tour with Ocean Outfitters!!

We started at 6am and the morning was a tranquil visit to all the animals in the ocean. Our guides were Connor and Bethany, and they are knowledgeable naturalists and wonderful guides who took good care of us inside and outside of the water. Captain Kim knew we were birders and wanted to take photos of the shearwaters, boobys, and albatrosses and she always positioned the boat while giving us the best and most stable view for photography, while maintaining a respectful distance to the animals to avoid stressing them. We went out to Ka'ena point and had a great view of the Laysan albatross colony. There is truly nothing like having an albatross fly overhead. Along the way, we saw spotted dolphins actively feeding and playing, and also saw spinner dolphins! Seeing the monk seal lounging on the beach was a bonus. The wedge tail shearwaters had just returned so they were busy on the water. We also found masked boobys and brown booby feeding. We also saw turtles at their cleaning station! Connor and Bethany were knowledgeable about the landscape and the ecology and shared wonderful information. They are genuinely the nicest people! Highly recommended. The boat is comfortable and we were taking care of by the team (beverages, snacks, fruits, pastries). Thank you!

As the years went by, the traffic and parking situation became a nightmare for all. After parking your vehicle across the road, you start the video game Frogger in trying to navigate and dodge passing cars to cross the road. Coming this year with another 1st timer, we found a dedicated spot to park ((https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=vvIKqY2lR0itJ69ZUlXhJA).) where even the sanctuary volunteers leave their vehicles. The best part is that they installed a marked crosswalk (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&select=N7ZkG2n7jMLelhcy1vzRdQ) for people to cross in a more safe manner; do still exercise caution in crossing the Kam Highway. On the Tuesday early afternoon we went, the waters were rough with 30 to 40 ft waves. As a result, the beach was taped off as a safety measure. I walked to the primary beach section were the sanctuary volunteers monitored the situation to make sure visitors do not bother the wildlife here. As I spoke with a volunteer originally from St. Louis, she pointed out a seal (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q&start=24&select=U6UBzjIUZhr2lFKcMbobiA) that made it's way to the beach to find a resting spot. As my friend and I walked back towards the open area across the parking section, we stared with other visitors towards the break line and saw smaller turtles struggling to make their way in, often catching their bobbing heads out of the water or the outline of their bodies contrasting to the clear waters. None made it to the beach, what little sand space there was, while we were there. The key to seeing the turtles is to check the tide times and trying to come when it is close to high tide. We'll see how things on my next visit, whether we have time or interest to see the turtles.

In January we came by 2x in a week and did not see turtles on the first day but enjoyed the beautiful views. On the second day, we lucked out and got to see a large turtle laying on the beach and then enjoyed the beautoful sunset. There is usually a volunteer at the beach and they are so helpful to answer any questions and protect the turtles. We learned that there are more turtles in the summer there, and that the waves wash away the sand in the winter and then return the sand in the summer.
