We had the pleasure of trying out Diamond Head Cruises right when they opened under new management. We booked the 2-hour semi-private morning tour with our friends visiting from overseas. The tour is guided by two staff members who cruise you along Waikiki and then to various snorkeling spots. I appreciated them accommodating our request to allow ample time at each attraction, as this was our first boat tour in Honolulu. I particularly liked the unique style of their boat, which features both traditional and saddle-type seats. I enjoyed the saddle-type seats, as I felt they offered the best experience for galloping through the occasional choppy waves. We're locals who frequently drive by Waikiki, but cruising along it from the ocean side gave us a completely different sense of appreciation. Our first stop was at a snorkeling spot with Diamond Head as the backdrop. We stayed for about 20-30 minutes, which was just right, as we were eager to try our luck at spotting dolphins and whales. As we left the snorkeling area, we were greeted by spinning dolphins all around our boat. They swam so close that we were able to capture some underwater footage of them. On our return cruise to the dock, we were fortunate enough to see a whale surface in the distance. If seeing giant turtles, dolphins, and whales swimming by isn't enough, you might even get lucky and have the boat owner--travel and lifestyle celebrity vlogger Cedric Lee @passport_ced--on board with you. He is well-traveled, adventurous, and fun to chat with. Overall, we had a pleasant experience with Diamond Head Cruises. My family and I went out on a snorkel cruise with Captain Flow and Hannah this morning and it was absolutely spectacular. First we went to an area of reef where we snorkeled. We saw hundreds of fish and four beautiful sleepy turtles, resting by the reef. Then we went out looking for other wildlife, and we saw at least five whales, if not more, including them breaching and with full dorsal views. Hannah and Flow could not have been nicer, more professional, better at their jobs, or more welcoming, and we had a fantastic time. Highly highly recommend. Mahalo! read more

Stepped out of the box into the ocean with the turtles to experience an amazing adventures recently. I have to say it was we had an amazing time on our turtle cruise. Captain Mike and our guide, Tyler took great care of us from there time we boarded, until our return. Groups are small total six per cruise making the experience fun and personable. As always, the guest were briefed to keep our distance from the turtles and for the safety of the turtles, no touching was allowed. Our tour that day took us to the a turtle cleaning station. A favorite place where turtles like to frequent to be cleaned by the abundance of fish in the area, preferably the Kole Tang. Tyler was extremely knowledgeable about turtles and had a great eye spotting and pointing them out to us. There were many turtles below and above making the experience super amazing. Some even got very close to us. They provided it all, floaters, mask, snorkels, and fins, just bring your towel and gopro. We were served a light snack going out and as we returned to the dock. This was such an amazing experience for our entire family! Both our teenager and younger daughter had a blast as did my husband and I. Captain Jason and Hannah were awesome! I'm an avid snorkeler up north and I also went with turtle canyon cruises. I highly recommend this one as it's a more personalized experience and informative. The snorkel gear on this boat is the kind I would buy for myself. Not cheap, not flimsy. The snorkel itself has the 2 exit points to get water out easier. There were 2 kids onboard and the crew kept a close eye on them. They gave us information about everything we were seeing. Overall one of the best experiences I've had in Hawaii. I highly recommend booking a smaller charter as you will have a more personalized experience especially if you're a beginner like myself. All the snorkeling equipment is provided. Brittany took us out and kept a watchful eye making sure everyone was okay and guided us toward the best spots. If I could give zero star I would have done it! On the day of the scheduled activity, me and my family went to the location and waited until the scheduled call time. We received a call at 11:05am from Diamond Head Cruise rep. stating that they have to cancel our schedule for that day because their boat has mechanical issues. Our scheduled time Is 11:15am. Me and my whole family were devastated since we are tourists in that location and our time is limited. My biggest concern on that one is that shouldn't this company do a pre-trip inspection 1 day before the scheduled tour? I think this Snorkeling company is very unprofessional with its commitment to its customers. I was then instructed by Diamond Head Cruise to contact Viator since Marriott booked this activity through Viator so that they can assist us to find a similar activity for that day. Unfortunately, we were not given any schedule for the same day and were unable to experience to snorkel. Our overall experience with this whole thing is very frustrating and we are very unhappy (especially my children) who failed to have their snorkeling experience. read more

It was my first time snorkeling or swimming that far out in open water in general. I really enjoyed the experience and appreciated how small they keep the groups (up to 6 people) compared to the other boats out in the area. Sam and Ali were awesome hosts. Sam was super friendly and humored us as he told our group about the local culture and captained the boat to Turtle Canyon. Just phenomenal! Captain Justin and Melissa were extremely awesome! The sail was super smooth and our snorkel spot, Turtle Cove, was superb! Lots of turtles, fish, and the water was refreshing. Finished off the snorkel with some refreshing pieces of fresh pineapple & small sandwiches. It's an added detail that makes a wonderful difference. Definitely highly recommended in Oahu! Some suggestions to bring is sunscreen, a good time, & extra cash to tip the awesome crew! Recommend getting there 30 minutes early to secure parking. It is a pay by hour slot. read more
