Great time, took the dolphin cruise will probably book the whale cruise soon as I know seasons are changing and retake dolphin cruise in early summer. The guides have eagle eyes lol being able to spot all these creatures from afar! Guides are very knowledgeable!

Jenna and Jalen were excellent! Loved the smaller boat. They called us and asked us to come earlier due to water/weather conditions - worth losing that extra hour of sleep! Saw and swam with so many dolphins and turtle snorkel at end. Jenna found an inner island pod of false killer whales (endangered). They were just as excited to see and photo as the group. Both ladies made you feel safe and wanted to ensure you had a good time and saw dolphins as up close as possible. Very knowledgeable about how the dolphins would swim to ensure you could get in water quickly to see and hear them. Amazing experience. Highly recommended!

The trip was amazing. We saw whales breaching, bottle nose dolphins and spinner dolphins. Swam with the turtles also. 10/10 would recommend

It was my first time doing anything like this! Overall it was an amazing time! We saw so much wildlife! Jenna and Ashley were not just incredibly personable but extremely knowledgeable of the marine life! Overall, highly recommended this excursion if you are a local or visiting! Thank you!

Excellent experience. We saw all that was promised and snorkeled for a long time. I have to say that this was my first time snorkeling and both Jenna and Morgan (crew) made me feel safe and kept a watch on me when I was in the water. This made it easy for me to enjoy snorkeling for the first time! Saw dolphins, humpback whales, turtles and so many different species of fishes! Totally with it!

This was the best day ever. You have to take this tour if you come to Hawaii or live in Hawaii and need a day to relax. We saw Dolphins , Huge turtle showed up while snorkeling, lots of varieties of fish and we even saw a huge eel. Capital Lex and Ash were expert host that kept us informed answering every question that we had. The food was delectable and the had a chest full of different types of cold drinks. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

We did the 7am-10am tour and it was lovely! Not 15minutes in we were already seeing spinner dolphins near our boat. We tried a few times to snorkel with the dolphins but they were a bit elusive and swam away after a couple minutes. However, the dolphins were out to play and spent a lot of time swimming in our boat wake and around our boat --making for many great photo opportunities. We finished off our tour snorkelling closer to shore where we saw a sea turtle cruising underwater. Snacks and drinks were a nice touch. Staff were very knowledgeable, went to spots where they found lots of dolphins and did their best to make us comfortable on board and in the water. I highly recommend Dolphin Excursions for a memorable time on the open ocean! Although we didn't rent a go-pro, it would definitely elevate the experience. Wetsuits are a must to make the experience enjoyable and it makes snorkelling easier.

Will the water temperature be uncomfortably cold in March? Would we have more wildlife sightings at the 7:30 or 11:00 tour? Thanks.

The water there is usually about 85 degrees- wonderful! No wetsuit needed. We were just there in October and it was glorious! We loved this excursion and highly recommend this.

We started at 6am and the morning was a tranquil visit to all the animals in the ocean. Our guides were Connor and Bethany, and they are knowledgeable naturalists and wonderful guides who took good care of us inside and outside of the water. Captain Kim knew we were birders and wanted to take photos of the shearwaters, boobys, and albatrosses and she always positioned the boat while giving us the best and most stable view for photography, while maintaining a respectful distance to the animals to avoid stressing them. We went out to Ka'ena point and had a great view of the Laysan albatross colony. There is truly nothing like having an albatross fly overhead. Along the way, we saw spotted dolphins actively feeding and playing, and also saw spinner dolphins! Seeing the monk seal lounging on the beach was a bonus. The wedge tail shearwaters had just returned so they were busy on the water. We also found masked boobys and brown booby feeding. We also saw turtles at their cleaning station! Connor and Bethany were knowledgeable about the landscape and the ecology and shared wonderful information. They are genuinely the nicest people! Highly recommended. The boat is comfortable and we were taking care of by the team (beverages, snacks, fruits, pastries). Thank you!

The crew were very knowledgeable about the different sea life (such as dolphins and whales) that tend to appear. The boat ride itself is a bit rocky and it can be very easy to get seasick. However, there are lots of places to sit and lay down, and the crew provides free food + unlimited non-alcoholic drinks for all passengers! On the day I went, I got a buttered biscuit and some fruit for breakfast, and a pesto sandwich for lunch. Near the end of the boat ride, passengers are able to jump into the water and are provided flotation devices. I thought it was pretty cool that you can jump directly off the boat! (The crew cares about your safety and will brief you on water safety before you get into the water). All in all, the view of the ocean is super pretty and I was able to see dolphins multiple times on this trip! I'd recommend local residents and tourists to take a trip out into the water like this at least once in your life.

From the moment we arrived, everything felt welcoming and well-organized, but what really made the experience special were our deckhands, Lono and Kama. They were beyond amazing--so knowledgeable, calm, and genuinely passionate about what they do. You can tell they truly care about the ocean, the sharks, and making sure everyone feels safe and informed. Before we even got in the water, they took the time to explain everything--what to expect, how to stay safe, and the importance of respecting these animals in their natural environment. There was no fear-based energy at all--just education, respect, and appreciation. That meant a lot to me. Getting into the cage and seeing the sharks up close was unreal. It's one thing to see videos, but being out there in the open ocean, surrounded by that deep blue, and watching these beautiful creatures move so effortlessly... it really shifts your perspective. It gives you a deeper respect for the ocean and everything in it. What I loved most is that this didn't feel like just a "tour." It felt intentional. It felt local. It felt like we were being invited into something meaningful, not just another activity to check off a list. As someone who believes in supporting local businesses, I can confidently say this is one worth supporting. The team embodies aloha, professionalism, and care--not just for their guests, but for the ʻāina and ocean as well. Huge mahalo to Lono and Kama (and Kala and Makua) for making this experience so special for me, my best friend, and her family. You guys made us feel comfortable, educated, and honestly just in awe the entire time. If you're on the North Shore and looking for something unforgettable--book it. You won't regret it.

The ocean was calm, conditions were excellent, and we weren't surrounded by multiple tour boats. For long stretches it genuinely felt like we had the reef to ourselves. Sam and Ella were in-cred-ible. Professional, knowledgeable, and very clearly people who love what they do. They struck the perfect balance of being attentive while still letting everyone enjoy the experience naturally. We felt extremely safe the entire time, and they were just genuinely joyful humans to spend the morning with. And I have to mention the turtles. We saw at least eight. Not just in the distance-- they were everywhere. Below us in the reef, gliding past us at the surface, popping up for air unexpectedly. At one point we were actively looking around just to make sure we weren't about to bump into one. Also...calling them "little" would be inaccurate. Some of these turtles were big-- absolutely stunning animals. Swimming alongside them, surrounded by hundreds of reef fish, was one of those rare travel moments that sticks with you.
