Taverns are cash only, which btw, there is a beautiful speakeasy-like tavern that is 21+ and that makes me SOOO HAPPY! Real rennies will fully appreciate this! The tavern wench is even in character. Huzzah to her! All around this Faire seems much more well organized and reasonable than the one in Tuxedo that I've been going to since I was 12. However, it is at a baseball stadium, presumably for the local semi-professional team. Firstly, if you plan on coming, grab discounted tickets by going into Walgreens. You'll save $5/ticket rather than buying at the door. Though it is an ice sculpture 'park' it is held all inside. Upon entering, the are a couple of 'carnival games' that you can play. This includes the mining/sifting activity you may have seen in museums and also throwing games to knock down cans and clowns. They also sell some food and beverages here. We ordered French fries, chicken tenders, and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate was a small cup, something I don't think it's with sharing at all but getting your own. There were only three chicken tenders at $5 but they were only OK. The French fries I thought were actually pretty good. They had some other meals available but it's the typical food you find at carnivals, though maybe not as diverse. That is the upper level of the carnival. Heading down, you enter the main attraction. It's cold so make sure you bring your jacket, gloves, and also recommend snow pants for the kids. Reason being, it's a giant freezer for all the ice sculptures. There were ice slides, Merry go round, small Ferris wheel, bumper cart photo booth, etc. I uploaded some pictures for you to get an idea of what's there. There is a main slide made of ice. This is where the snow pants come in as they will let you slide much easier. In jeans, I wasn't sliding down much at all. They also had a few games here too, free to play (minus the admission cost of course). If you win, you get a ticket to play for free at the prize winning games at the upper level described previously. You can essentially keep playing until you win down stairs which is nice. The day we came there was also snow on the ground. You can actually walk onto the field and build snow man or have a quick snow ball fight. Overall, we were here for a little under an hour and a half. Though the ice sculptures are very nice and detailed, for the admission I thought we would see more. This is probably better for families and kids though. It was a cool thing to see but I don't think I would be coming back. Maybe if I have children in the future but not anytime soon. Just a bit expensive and far for something that I expected to have a bit more 'wow' factor. Again though, the sculptures were incredible. Just wish it was cheaper or more worth it having to drive so far.

"everything's gay in june" by buddy brown was being played on the loud speakers and while listening to the lyrics i and my wife audibly gasped at him saying thousands of homophobic slurs and the N word. 9/22/24 - We attended the hot air balloon festival in September, when the weather was still quite…read morewarm. It seems to be held 2-3 times between June and September. According to their website, this is the first of three hot air balloon festivals in Warren County, created in 2021 for artists and crafters. This event was called the "Hot Air Balloons, Arts & Crafts Festival," and there were vendors, food trucks, live music, as well as activities and entertainment (mostly geared toward kids) such as axe throwing, a video arcade trailer, bounce house, face painting, crafts, a clown walking around doing tricks, a robo-dog, drone flying demo, rocket building & launch, and my toddler's favorite - a giant tub of Legos lol. You could also pay to go up in a tethered balloon ($30 adult/$20 child 4-12yo), but the line was long and didn't seem to be moving too fast so we abandoned that idea. The highlight was of course the balloon launch, which began in the late afternoon into early evening, one after another. It was a sight to behold as the colorful balloons drifted over the horizon. We laid out our picnic blankets on the grass, ate food and walked around while watching the balloons take off. Toward the end of the evening, 7-8ish, there was a dance party with a DJ and pretty good music, which lasted until sunset. Very fun for the kids (and me!), and the DJ booth gave away light-up bracelets and other glow-in-the-dark accessories to everyone! Finally, we stayed to watch the special monster balloon be inflated before leaving as it was getting dark and colder. Parking and check-in were a beeeze and very organized. The event is family friendly and we thought the price was reasonable especially if you buy a family pack.

Had some expectations when we decided to go last-minute to this one held in Warren Community College, Washington NJ. It was the last for this summer. Pay for admission on their website or at the location. $10/adult, $5/parking. Got the family rate at $35, for up to 5 people, parking included- good deal. Parking was very organized. Our QR code was scanned at ticketing tent and got wristbands. Was told we could leave and return with the bands (Could have gone to an outdoor bbq place we drove by on the way.) Festival started at 2pm, we got there at 3pm. In the open grassy field of the college so was warm under the sun. Shade under trees, tents. Make sure to have sun protection and something to sit on. Had my yelp blanket in the car so laid it on the nice grass and used my yelp Mets fan to cool off. No balloons yet so we decided to see what's at the fair. First we saw a remote-operated dog. It was walking around, checking out food menus haha and interacting with people. So cool. For food/drinks, prices from $4 for hotdogs with different toppings, to $10-$25 from the various food trucks/tents. We just ate so got fried oreos and funnel cake at $10 each; iced coffees from The Laughing Goat in the cutest food truck (a local coffee place). Their iced americano had good flavor, more than their iced coffee. Not much for us adults to do there so didn't need to come too early. Unless you want to pay to go in one of the 3 tethered balloons, which went on til dark; axe-throwing (not bad at $5 for 5 min) or the "walk-into" inflated balloon for photo-op $3pp. We just checked out the few vendor tents; got our video taken in a grounded balloon basket with flames shooting up, flew a small drone. There was a juggler with different props - learned how to use the chinese yoyo, etc. Little kids had face-painting; made paper rockets and launched them; a small bounce house, etc. Heard there was going to be a dance party too. At close to 5pm, we got our spot with a great view of the balloons being inflated. First one went up about 45min later. 8 balloons so not as many as our first experience. Still, nice to watch. At about 7pm, 4 more balloons were inflated, which included the finale Monster balloon. We decided to leave when it got dark and the monster was still down. Too bad. We wish they started on it much earlier.

Visited this place with a friend who had been there last year and enjoyed herself. I was excited…read morebecause it was my daughter's first time at a haunted house. We purchased the VIP which at 45 is about the standard.. Even though the VIP line wasn't long, the wait time was longer than I'd liked with paying the higher price, but after reading the reviews, I guess we did pretty good! It gave a fun, spooky touch to have the characters playing along with us while we waited in line. Once we inside, I was impressed by the detail of the experience.. they definitely put effort into this part which was appreciated. There were a couple of different sections, including a hayride. Overall, it was more of a fun, entertaining experience, not necessarily scary.. that's good when you have a easily spooked 10 year old present.

I've been to the Haunted Mill many times myself but this is my first time reviewing it. The ambiance is fantastic. The buzz that's going on around town, on Main St. and at the mill itself is such a wonderful sight and experience during the fall season. All the shops are open and they are filled. The actors from the Haunted Mill walk Main St. entertaining everyone along the way. The actual Haunted Mill experience itself is amazing. The fact that the entire production is put on by volunteers (as it is a fundraiser for the Red Mill) is astonishing. The level of detail put into each building is beyond creative. It amazes me how they're able to keep it new and fresh every year. Now, everyone attending knows that these monsters aren't real and so it's up to everyone to come with a good attitude and a willingness to get into the creepy, scary mood. If you're not getting scared or having fun then, I think you need to look seep within yourself and wonder if maybe it wasn't the best day for you to visit. Yes, the lines are long but that's to be expected. Part of the fun is hanging with your group, chatting and getting spooked by the actors that sneak up behind you. Bring a hot beverage, an ice cream, a slice of pizza or whatever you want and chill, wait on line and have fun.
