I believe they have demolition derbies here (I've only seen them on TV when I was a kid and several cars back into each other (not fast) and the last car that can move on its own wins). You can bring your own beer cooler in but must sit in a certain area. There are family sections where no alcohol is allowed. There is a senior citizen discount. The times I have gone, they have official start is about 7PM, but I think you can get in much earlier, depending upon the event...different cars run at different times. The announcers are informative (over the PA system). I went because I have lived around here all my life and the last 16 years can hear the cars in the summer from my house. I had to try once, and I have gone three times this summer. Parking is free. Keep a jacket in the car, because sometimes the temperature drops a bit when twilight deepens, depending on the season. My girlfriend and I each had a flight and were able to sample just about the whole menu. $10 for a flight of four 5oz pours which is definitely the cheapest flight I've seen at a NJ brewery. The peanut butter stout, watermelon wheat and not so pale ale were all excellent. The peanut butter stout had a very subtle peanut butter flavor with a nice bitter aftertaste. None of that cloying sweetness found in some dessert stouts. The watermelon wheat also had a great, balanced watermelon flavor, and the not so pale ale had a nice nutty taste to it like an English brown ale. I really disliked the New Egypt hazy IPA as it tasted way too watered down and nothing like other hazy IPA's I've had. All beers - flights and full pours alike - were served in plastic cups which is a huge pet peeve of mine in breweries. The gentleman serving beer was incredibly friendly and I enjoyed briefly talking football with him (and I'll let it slide that he's a Giants fan). Overall it was a very pleasant afternoon - good beer, good conversation, the sound of the rain drumming on the roof. We will definitely come back someday.

Parking for $10 was a bit tedious because it was located on a landing strip about a mile from the site. Shuttle buses somewhat alleviated the issue. The festival is like any fair I have attended, nothing special under the sun with various vendors and support groups in tents. There was also an entertainment. For $5 you could also be transported to the blueberry fields and pick as many as you can in a half hour. There also was a pie-eating contest which was quite amusing. Various groups displayed their " antique agricultural" wares which I found very interesting. The General Store is in the center of the village.
