Last night was my first time at The Argyle Theatre and we watched The Prince of Egypt. I've passed…read moreby for years and always wondered about the quality of their productions. So my husband surprised me with tickets because he knows how much I love Broadway shows. Some of the standouts of the night were- the singing and the use of the screens. The actors & vocalist did a great job, really no weak links, they were clear, they projected all the way up to the balcony, and they carried a strong stage presence. The stage was set up in a specific way for the entire show but the screens helped to enhance the scenes by projecting different images to suggest a change in setting, making it a lot more interesting to watch. Some songs resonated more than others, solely because of the weight of the message they possessed. Overall, very talented artists on Long Island that we enjoyed watching use their gifts to bring joy to others. It didn't have to be perfect to be of great substance. I will note that they loosely interpret biblical events throughout the show, especially toward the end, so a few scenes might make you go huh, but as artists, they truly made it their own. It's nice to offer Broadway-like shows close to home, and to support the arts within our communities.

It was such a great feeling to be performing at the theater I grew up watching movies in. The…read moretheater is just beautiful and the staff there are amazing as well. We performed there on 8/30/25. We are the Soul Jam Revue. The venue is full of that same charm that was there back in the 60's, 70's and on. I walked around taking in the movie shadows boxes (micky mouse) and this brought back so many memories! The seating there is all brand new, comfortable and spacious! I highly recommend getting there for a show in the future. I can't wait to see when they put up the new marquee!

So finally , the big day came, I put on my blue shirt, my black shoes and attended Newsies!! It was FANTASTIC!! GREAT SHOW! Great Dancing and singing moves. Such great talent! I hope they do a Chorus Line soon.

Which was complete with costumes worn by Twisted Sister and Albums lining the walls. Downstairs was the bigger exhibit featuring Everybody Loves Raymond. There were a set of the kitchen and living room decorated with items used in the show. There were also displays of clothing worn in the show. And a make-shift movie theater upstairs showing bloopers from the show. They really packed in a lot of interesting things to see. We spent almost 3 hours there. The place is great. I can't wait to see what other things they come up with.

If you are a Raymond fan you might really enjoy it. Upstairs was Billy Joel, which was what I really came to see. It was good, but again not worth the cost.

And what is more exceptional, I purchased tickets months in advance, and due to a personal conflict - could not attend the Saturday afternoon show. So I called the theater - And they happily exchanged for tickets the next day!! My front row seats were phenomenal - just two seats over from my original seats!! The talent is amazing. Dinner and a show in Northport is a must do outing for any Broadway show aficionado!!

We arrived around 6:00 PM and joined the line to enter. As we got in, our tickets were scanned by fever staff. The usher brought us to our seats in Zone C. Seating is assigned on a first come first served basis in each zone. Our seats were good and had good visibility of the stage. The stage and the auditorium was filled with electric candles that had a warm and flickering glow. About 6:30 PM, the concert opened with Coldplay - Clocks. Then, the Highline String Quartet introduced themselves and talked us through the program. Some of the songs they played were Imagine Dragons - Radioactive, Coldplay - Fix You, Imagine Dragons - Eyes Closed, Imagine Dragons - Bad Liar, Coldplay - The Scientist, and Coldplay - Sky Full of Stars. As we approached the top of the hour, the Highline String Quartet asked the audience to make some noise to see if there were more Coldplay or Imagine Dragons fans. Coldplay won and they played Viva la Vida and did Imagine Dragons - Believer as an encore. The whole concert was a beautiful and magical experience. I was in awe of the music by the Highline String Quartet composed of 3 violinists and 1 cellist. Looking forward to attending more Candlelight concerts! CM Performing Arts Center is located in Lighthouse Commons, a group of businesses along Montauk Highway, and there are plenty of parking spots.
