Thankfully Scott had all of these, and I'm really grateful to have stumbled upon this shop. Scott was exceptional in explaining the whole process and prepared me well for the big ouch and the aftercare. I really worried about the healing process because of various reddit posters, however the magic spray (hypochlorous acid + saline) he sent me home with has made the recovery a breeze. I've had the piercing for a week, and I forgot it was there after the first 36 hours. No inflammation or any signs of irritation. I'm only going to Scott for any future work. The only con of coming to Scott is that you'll want more piercings because he does such a good job and made the recovery so easy. He's also a cool and courteous dude. 10/10

Seth was remarkably patient and worked with me to meet my requests on every last detail (size, aspect ratio, position, ink). (Embarrassingly, I asked him if we could move the template we transferred onto my skin 5 times for one tattoo, having to wipe it away and reapply it. It would have driven basically anyone crazy, but Seth was laid-back and understanding throughout.) The price was also very reasonable. As others have mentioned the private studio was clean and seemed well organized. Honestly, vibe at the studio is not something I care about (I just want a great looking, safe tattoo), but it did have a nice feel. In my case, I wanted something very specific (and relatively simple), rather than something creative from the artist. I got exactly what I wanted, and it looks perfect. Since this was my first, Seth also explained every step of the process to me as we went. In terms of safety, I saw all his new, packaged needles. (One thing I didn't verify was how he sterilized any reusable parts. ...something you could do yourself if you're inclined.) I'll definitely return to Seth for any future tattoos.

I believe that $160 is the minimum price for any tattoo here. Tripp provided me with a quote in advance, per my request, and was very prompt and direct about the pricing as soon as I provided him with an example of what I wanted, which I really appreciated. I initially felt like this price was a bit high, however I called several highly rated tattoo parlors in the area, and this was the lowest price for my simple tattoo. So comparatively, this place checks out, price-wise! I am glad I paid to have it done at Wasteland, as the experience was incredible. Accuracy: The tattoo was executed exactly as I requested-- I couldn't have asked for it to be any more accurate, honestly. It was simple, but I think with simple designs, any flaws are even more visible, in a way? So I was very pleased with how it came out. Friendliness: I had a very pleasant experience here. Banter throughout the tattooing process, I felt like my artist and I were just friends hanging out. There were upbeat R&B oldies playing, which put me right at ease. Pain: Truly painless, to be honest. I was shocked by how little pain I experienced. Honestly, it was reminiscent of a small scratch. Also super quickly completed. Simplicity of booking: Booking this appointment was so easy. I figure that this is partly due to the simplicity of my design, however I was still surprised how quickly they got me in. I was able to secure an appointment within a week of reaching out. When I showed up, they were ready for me, and the entire experience felt very streamlined and efficient. Clean studio: The studio was clean, modern, spacey, and private. The bright colors and upbeat music put me at ease immediately. Masks were worn throughout the process. Instructions on treatment/self care of tattoo: My artist provided me with detailed instructions as to how to care for my tattoo. I asked a lot of beginner, kinda silly questions, but never felt belittled, and felt like I was being taken seriously and really cared for just in the way that my questions were addressed. The care process was honestly very easy, and within a couple of days, I felt that it was pretty much healed up! A super easy and fun process :) Cons: Truly ZERO from me! I am so pleased with my tattoo and impressed with the overall experience offered at Wasteland tattoos. I am recommending to all of my friends in the DC area! Go here!
