I've had three pieces with Chris Lowe, am artist and an overall good dude. Remember, if you get big pieces you have to sit with your artists for hours on end and Chris will give you a dose of reality if 1. you're a D or 2. Your tattoo idea is crap. So I brought Chris a picture of a tree from the tropics which had sentimental value, but at the consult we couldn't figure out what species it was. I had been comtemplating on getting a tattoo for a long time. I always wanted one but never could find the perfect one. I just couldn't decide on should l do it? Especially since l realize that certain area's of the body can be very painful. I do have a high tolerance of pain. Well let me take that back. That do depend on where the pain is located. Let me start off by saying that this place is very hard to find on 175. I drove right past it and parking is difficult. They have a very small lot so l parked in the Church lot. They were closed. I wouldn't recommend it. Just be advised they had tow at your own risk signs available. There also is parking available around the back. It was getting dark and l was not having it. They also are very close to Tom Liquor store. I didn't have an appointment and l do appreciate that they took me as a walk in. Scott was available at the time. I told him what l wanted. I had the picture on my phone. He made a copy of it and drew the outlined picture for me and asked me to check it out in the mirror. I loved it he than asked me was l paying by cash. I said yes and l noticed that the girl before me paid cash as well. Hmmmm I'm not sure what's that about but OK.. I also noticed that l didn't get a receipt.. She didn't as well. Maybe that's the policy?? I wouldn't know because this was my first time there. He was able to start on mine shortly after that. Everything he used was New. He wore gloves. VERY important to me because l work in Health Care. He asked me to be very still and don't listen to my friends and stay off the internet. Okkkkk to that. He gave me very good aftercare instructions verbally and written. I went to purchase everything he said from the nearest drugstore. My tattoo for that size was $80.00 Not bad at all l thought and he did a good job going from my picture. I am very pleased with the outcome and quick healing process because l do listen. We both followed Chris Mead from Meade Tattoos when he moved over, and I am sad to say that he is now gone from this shop as well and moved to the west coast. The shop is in the process of being redone, but they have a large space with several rooms. All the tattoo artists are really into the work that they and their coworkers are doing - it was great to see how the place was more of a family than other shops I have been to. They seem to cater to a lot of the Fort Meade crew, but it has always been easy to get an appointment, even as a walk-in in some cases. Highly recommended - great artists and environment. read more

I'm sure I asked more than 20 questions today that Eddie answered very professionally and thoroughly. His friendly attitude and demeanor made my day! He kept asking for my opinion and how I felt about the positioning etc While I was being tattooed, Justin and Troy were also working on other clients. They were so funny. His sense of humor made her tattooing experience phenomenal. Troy and Chris were very friendly as well. They came around to either make small talk or look at the finished piece. Despite a lot of other crappy looking things on this strip of 175, Naked Art is a gem! It is really nice inside, very clean and state of the art. A few private rooms for all your piercing and tattoo needs. I got my industrial (bar across the top of your ear, double piercing) done here by a female piercer. She was nice and professional. She also did my friends double lip piercing that same night. It was a very good experience and I'd definitely go back for more. I've gone to Naked Art to get 4 out of 6 of the tattoos I have got while I've been in Maryland. I have used Chris Lowe and he is one of the best artists I've seen. I have cherry blossoms on both of my upper arms and he drew them on with Sharpies. He also wrote out my name in Arabic on my foot. Although you have to pay $60 up front when you make an appointment it is well worth it. They have had many people in the past cancel appointments at the last minute. They also recently started doing piercing. I got my lip pierced in Crofton at Mystic and the guy did it crooked. I took it out and went to Naked Art a week later and had them re-pierce it. This time it healed within a week and was done the correct way. Overall I tell anyone that asks me where a good tattoo place is to check out Naked Art. read more

My first tattoo done in Maryland, and I'm overall pleased with it. I did a walk-in and Eddie was available to work me in. The prices are fair, he answered all my questions, and thankfully took his time and had a steady hand when he hit a tender spot. They all use one time disposable items as well.
