Good food in Ocoee. I am a fan of the 4 Rivers chain of…read morerestaurants. This is a popular Florida-based barbecue chain that was founded by John Rivers. It began in 2004 as a "Barbecue Ministry" when he hosted a backyard cookout fundraiser to help a local family whose daughter was battling cancer. In October 2009, he opened the first official 4 Rivers Smokehouse location in Winter Park, Florida. The restaurant gained a loyal following for its smoked brisket and Southern sides. Fast forward to today, when the chain has grown to around 15-23 locations. It is still family-owned and continues to expand while staying rooted in its community-focused origins. I have visited 3 different locations and like atmosphere, food, prices and style. This location is to the northwest of the SR 50 and Vineland road intersection. There is plenty of parking. The inside is a counter where you order your food moving from left to right and pay at the end. There are three sets of seating: by the counter, in the next room and outside on the patio. They have serve yourself drinks in the second room along with to-go containers. The food is a mix of barbeque beef and wings and various sides. I got a pulled pork sandwich, fries and tea. It came out quick and was excellent. The place was very clean and the staff was super friendly. I definitely recommend for anyone wanting a good meal, at a decent price, in a pleasant atmosphere in the Ocoee area.

I wanted to love This Little Piggy, but overall it was just okay for me. It's located inside the…read morefood hall, so the atmosphere is casual and shared, which is convenient if you're with a group or want different food options. The staff was super friendly, which I appreciated. I got the brisket sandwich, and while the flavor was good overall, some of the brisket was on the fatty side. I also felt like the sandwich needed more barbecue sauce because it came across a little dry/lacking without it. The sweet tea and lemonade were really good and were probably my favorite part of the visit. The sides were okay, but nothing really stood out. Overall, the service was great and the drinks were solid, but the food didn't quite hit the way I was hoping. I wouldn't completely write it off, but based on this visit, it probably wouldn't be my first pick in the food hall.

We visited plant street on a Sunday afternoon around 2:30pm. This place was busy, but I've been…read morebefore so I know it's worth the wait. I ordered the loaded brisket fries and subbed the mustard sauce for the regular bbq sauce and a side of cheesy grits. My food came out pretty quick. The fries were kind of small for $16, but it was super tasty. The brisket was tender and the cheese sauce and mustard sauce were plentiful. The grits on the other hand were under salted and lumpy. I'll definitely be back for the bbq here, but I do feel they're a little overpriced (a common sentiment for me at plant at market). You can bet I won't be ordering grits again though.

First time to this Hot Pot. I've tried a competing one and this is much better. I like that they…read moreoffer everything under one price (seafood, steak, etc.). Some places have the better ingredients out during dinner only or on weekends. Volcano has high quality ingredients out all the time. They have a HUGE seafood selection - I was in heaven. Crab legs, scallops, 2 types of clams, shrimp, mussels, etc. Many choices. They also have a wide selection of hot pot meats - pork belly, lamb, different grades of beef. Many veggie selections (napa cabbage, different types of mushrooms, sweet potato), as well as lobster balls, fish balls, quail eggs, etc. We opted for the Hot Pot, Korean BBQ Combo. It's only $5 or $6 more and you can do both Hot Pot and BBQ. If you're new to this concept, they'll explain it all to you and help :) The grill, at your table is really nice. They had many marinated meats to select from at the food bar. Also large selection of sauces and a visual guide on how to make certain sauce combinations. Our favorite meats were the chicken and bulogi. The food bar area was spotless and well stocked. If you have any room left after all that food, they do have fresh fruit and ice cream options also. They serve alcohol, specialty cocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks. I believe this was around $37 per person for the combo option. We'll definitely go back again. Just go hungry! Tables are limited to 90 minutes and they will charge you for food waste if you get a lot and don't eat it. We didn't have any issues with that, but just FYI - they have signs posted at each table.

Normally, I really enjoy Volcano Hot Pot, but our mid week dinner was a disappointment. The…read morerestaurant was quiet, which explains why the food bar was a bit empty and not fully stocked up, but it felt like the quality suffered because of it. Some of the meat looked oxidized from sitting out too long. Fried food was cold. To make matters worse, the service wasn't good. Even with the place being slow, we had to flag our waiter down a couple of times. Usually a reliable spot, but this visit was a definitive average experience.
