The office staff and doctors that I experienced were professional and worked well as a team, and the procedure was quickly done. I have a follow-up procedure to get stitches out in a week. So, this writing is on the evening of that procedure being done. There is some area awareness (tightness and slight discomfort), but that is an expected aspect of this surgery. I have responded politely the first three times knowing that someone has transposed my phone number. Having worked in Health Care I grasp that their real patient very likely is not receiving appt reminders nor test results because their messaging system called " Klara" which is a combo of software and AI is glitching due to an input error. I have left texts, left voicemails and spoken to office personnel, one of whom told me the practice was having issues with messages going to folks other than their patients. This person attempted to tell me that one of their patients and myself shared the same phone number and that their patient was ignoring messages which is why I got messages despite not being a patient. I tried to tell them that in the US two different individuals don't have identical phone numbers while living in different states. I would be cautious about using this practice until they straighten out their medical records and messaging system.

I subsequently found a dermatologist certified in MOHS who i was able to make an appointment with significantly sooner. My new dermatologist is in Seattle about a 2 1/2 hours drive from Port Angeles. I can drive to my new dermatologist multiple times prior to April 2024. I enjoy living in Port Angeles, but you can't seem to get medical care here timely. I don't ind the drive to Seattle. While there I can get some shopping and dining taken care of in addition to real medical care.

His site says Susan Oldenkamp, MD is staff, but we have never seen anyone but Reese in Oak Harbor and Coupeville until it closed and is now open with an ARNP. The MOHS surgeon travels between dermatology offices and is not always available when needed. My biggest complaint is how you are treated when you question why they are continuing to collect co-pay as soon as you walk through the door even though our insurance company has notified them that we have reached our out-of-pocket medical payments for the year and no longer are responsible for co-pays. I have tried to receive a refund for co-pays my husband made in 2021 since January 2022. I spoke to someone in billing and was told I was correct, and she would get back to me. That didn't happen! I called her back and she never returned my call. Finally, in Sept. 2022 I received three emails stating the refund was approved and a check was written. Then, NOTHING. Today, I stopped by the office with copies of the three emails, hoping I could pick up a check. Silly me! They need to check with someone who now works from home, and she will call me to discuss the matter. Fortunately, we found a professional dermatologist/ Mohs surgeon office in North Sound Dermatology with five locations and a caring staff. Carol K.
