I have actually liked the way they dealt with me during the process they are clearly aware of their craft and they are very keen with regard to the needs of their clients. I did not experience any form of pressure or discomfort at any time. The atmosphere of the salon is very relaxed and it makes spending time there very easy. I got out a satisfied person about my nails and the whole experience was excellent. I will definitely be coming back! The staff worked at a similar shop in Humboldt Park and I was a client for 7 years. One day I had an appointment and unfortunately the double and triple booked me. After taking off my polish and having me sit in the bowl for an hour - I had to leave. When I left the male tech chased after me and tried to force me to pay for a full pedicure but they hadn't done anything but sit me in water. When I refused, he spit at me and I never went back. Fast forward now, I moved and this is the closest shop. I didnt recognize them at first so I went twice. The third time I came in and they were busy I said okay but they were very rude and when he took off his mask I recognized him. I proceeded to write a review warning people about this incident. I wrote a review. I felt bad so I came back to do a small service, the same guy who spit at me confronted me in front of all of the clients. They wanted me to take the review down or they would be refusing service. Please do not go here. The work is decent, the prices are cheap and Katie is the nicest one. However, the male tech is a pig. Also, you can't refuse service because I wrote an honest review. I understand that shop is new but the same guy works there

She was done within the hour with who seemed to be the manager from our understanding. I was in the chair for THREE HOURS. To begin, the woman I was put with was either a brand new technician who hadn't done much training or has never done GelX before and needs significantly more time training on that specific job. Within the 3 hours that I was sitting there she started with huffing and puffing when she came over to me and didn't acknowledge me when I said hello. She picked nail sizes that were all entirely too large for my nail bed, with 2 sizes smaller available. Proceeded to cut three of my fingers while working on me, one of which was deep enough to bleed and leave me in a lot of pain and her answer was to put alcohol directly on the wound. These things already were tuning me into the fact that she should not be working on humans yet, but it continued when she had no idea how to work the light for curing the nails and no matter how many times I showed her how to use it she continued to be unable to do it with the following nail. Each nail was shoved up and under my cuticle line which also hurt. One nail was extremely crooked and had to be completely removed and replaced because she continued to cure it even after I pointed it out and asked her to fix it. I didn't stay quiet about my concerns and issues, and was respectful about the things I was seeing yet was seemingly ignored. I made the appointment at 1pm and left at 4pm. In that time frame my friend had the same nails done, went home, showered, came back to the salon to check on me, left again to go get food before the flight we were trying not to miss, came back again, and then went and waited in my car for me after realizing I was still not done. She did all of that while I was sitting in the salon chair. Friday morning after arriving to vacation that I had gotten my nails done for, my pointer finger nail fell completely off while putting my swimsuit on. I've had GelX previously and it's lasted me 2+ weeks. They shouldn't and don't take 3 hours, nor do they fall off next day when done correctly by someone who has done them before. The management team here should be checking in with stylists and their work and surly shouldn't be putting them on jobs that they're obviously unable to complete well. Truly disappointing especially when you're there to get vacation nails done and was met with the worst nail salon experience you've ever had.
