My favorite nail salon has new mgmt. $80 for no chip mani, regular pedi now. Thus is what there new & improved

My favorite nail salon under new mgmt. Now $80 for a no chip mani/regular pedi! This is what there new & improved products did!! Claiming I gave thin skin. Of course I do, I am a woman of a certain age, not unusual. Had to hear about my thin skin for the rest of my visit. Happy Labor day weekend to me. No lake due to concern of infection. Any recommendations welcome.

This is a refill at Lee nails They gave me no lotion/oil or didn't have me wash my hands.

DO NOT GO HERE !!! I got a refill and i spent $38 for this. The guy doing my nails were burning my cuticles with the filer, i jumped a few time from the pain. The whole refill took 25 minutes. I asked why this refill was $38, employee said he shaped my nails and cleaned up my cuticles so i guess that costs $38. I spent $50 for a full set elsewhere that i attached a picture of and it was way better and i'll continue to go there. also while i was waiting, a lady asked for the manger cause she didn't like the way her nails looked like. i should have taken that as a sign to not waste my money 0/10

This is a day after the appointment and it still looks terrible!

I am not one to leave reviews but after this experience I had to. I went in for a full set recently and came out so disappointed. Not only was I disappointed I was cut pretty badly. Not once did my nail tech apologize for cutting me or offer some sort of discount for hurting me and cutting me. This used to be my go to spot but I sadly will be finding somewhere else.

I was here the day before New year's Eve. Was going to leave a very long post but they said I wrote too much. So these are the highlights. The person that was doing my nails did not want to put a false tip on. Did not want to do any type of design. There is no sanitation they are rude and no sense of personal hygiene. So I turned to my mother-in-law because she was nice enough to take her granddaughter and I out to do our nails. I said to her I'm not getting my nails done they don't want to put a tip on or do a design. My mother-in-law is very loud and speaks her mind. So she got upset very quickly when I said that and said why can't you put a nail on for her it's not that serious why can't you fix it. I was sitting over there it's not that serious I'll go somewhere else thank you for the pedicure. and my mother-in-law got mad and then the person doing her nails jumped up and said no I will fix it don't worry. But you will have to put on an acrylic or dip. I said no can you not just put super glue on it and then the no chip should be strong enough to hold it. They told me no. When I know for a fact you can do that . My mother-in-law is very persistent and persuaded me to get a manicure. Also I didn't want to be rude so. Like an idiot I looked up another picture of a design to get my nails done very simple just glitter on top of nail polish one nail polish only getting half glitter. I did this mainly because if I'm going to pay for my nails to get done might as well look like they were paid for. I could do a polish change the blush pink color I did because I had the same color at home. The reason why I say color change and not manicure. it's because she did not push down cut look at a cuticle I know she brought the cuticle cutters out and I think she cut like the tip of the corners beginning of my fingers. But definitely not a manicure. When I tried showing her the picture real really she said. And I quote can't you just let me do your nail first. How you going to know what I want done if I don't tell you. But I guess I understood since she didn't shape file she buffed in the nails. Then told me to go rinse my hands not wash my hands don't use soap. while she was painting my nails she complained about how long my nails were. She then called over the person doing my mother's in-laws nails . Which I really feel bad for my mother-in-law because this person has no sense of personal hygiene whatsoever. They smell like a dirty ashtray bad Bo. Like it was alarming I don't know how I did not. And my mother-in-law is a heavy smoker and it smelled like this person hasn't changed and was chain-smoking for 3 days. Their hands and underneath their nails is dirty. They do manicures for a living. This person had to do the falls tip and dip. once my niece and I were done moved to the waiting area where I overheard somebody else talking to their husband or boyfriend asking for cash for a tip and very disappointed in their nails as well when I significant other acts like you say anything she said it's fine it's fine give me cash so I can leave. A few seconds later my mother-in-law started yelling for me very cash for a tip. My niece and I scrounged up maybe $30 bucks. Because I only had it maybe $9 in cash. Everything else was on the card. And my niece had twenty bucks some how she's 12. Once we left my mother-in-law said that the block is used to scrub your foot was dirty she did not let them use it on her. And then I realize thinking back that nothing came out of his sanitation pack everything came out of drawers like if I kept it at home.

I like coming here to get my eyebrows waxed and shaped up. Phillip has been the only one I allowed to do my eyebrows. He makes sure that he takes his time and gets your eyebrows nicely shaped. I made the mistake of letting another person wax my eyebrows and it was a bit of a mistake. One of my eyebrows were going in a whole different direction. Phillip knows actually how I like my eyebrows. He is patient and attentive to getting my eyebrows shaped up nicely.

Today was my first time ever coming here. Andy was the guy who did my nails, he was very nice. I have never seen someone do a fill in as quick as him. Which was awesome because I was on my way to work. He was very clean and wanted to make sure that I liked my nails. I definitely recommend him. The only thing about this place is you have to make sure you have cash tips only. You cannot put any tips on your debit or credit card.

All of nails look like this from the side

NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. my nails look like a 5 year old did them. I got a full set acrylic's. There all uneven and were horribly put on. I go to the lee nails in the suburbs and they are great. This lee nails was near my job and I thought they were going to be good as the one I go to in the suburbs. They were disrespectful and rude. They saw how that lady did my nails, yet they did nothing and would even redo them. I asked for a refund and they wouldn't give me a refund.

Ummm, there's no way I should walk into a business and immediately feel unwanted. No friendly welcome, no hello, just " go wash your hands". So I try and explain that I'm just getting a pedicure, she didn't let me finish before she screams at me " wash your hands please!". Okay cool, BET! By this time, I'm just a tad upset. I sit in the chair, mind you, I'm short, so this chair is a little far back for me. She is watching me play with the remote but refuses to ask me do I need help. Okay cool, now I'm getting a little angry. As I'm asking questions about pricing, she walks away and starts speaking whatever language! Okay, now I'm PISSED! Another customer walks in, of a different skin color, and she's greeted like they're old friends! Seriously!!! SMH!!! My wife, who is the same color as me, walks in a little later, and again, she's also greeted with complete dryness. No hello, no acknowledgment! And this is after sitting there, waiting for someone to ask her what she needs. Heck NO! I will NEVER BE BACK! Treat ALL of your customers the same, including NEW AND BLACK!

So far this is my favorite nail salon in the city of Chicago, no joke. I'm so happy to see their new location open, and I'm impressed with how lovely it is! Easy to get to, and with ample free parking, it's situated at the end of the strip, in the plaza that homes Jo Ann fabrics, Microcenter, and PetsMart. Nice pedicures with several add on options such as parafin treatment. Skilled staff is wonderful. The new pedicure chairs are insanely nice- great fluid motion massages with easy controls, dual cup holders, and sparkly bases and tubs. GLITTER! Yep, glitter bases on the chairs- so pretty. They still do acrylic nails and wraps unlike many unskilled places that have recently popped up, and they do them VERY GOOD. My no-chip manicures always last the longest when they come from here. Seriously, I've gone a month without a single chip. I love the fact that they have such an extensive selection of polish & no-chip to pick from at all times. Also, if you're like me and like to color coordinate your fingers and toes but prefer no chip on your fingers- they have their bottles marked with color-coordinated shades so they can easily grab a matching polish to your no chip for your toes. I've been to numerous places where they play The Guessing Game and have to go back and forth between shades trying to find which one matches the no chip which can take time and you're never quite sure you got the right color. At Lee Nails it's always easy and quick to match shades between regular polish and gel. The new location is absolutely gorgeous. I'll be back.

We each got our nails done and honestly if the experience was like this back home I'd get my nails done way more often! The nail techs were ready for us when we got there even on Christmas Eve Eve. My mom was seated first, then me 3 minutes later then my SIL 2 minutes after me. I'm not chatty at all when I get these services done and I loved the way my tech was on that wave too. Mom and SIL love to talk and were deep in convo with their techs. The manicure itself was thorough - my insolent cuticles were tamed and removed with ease - and the polish job itself was great. I mostly avoid manicures because I chip the polish in 24 hours but here we are 5 days later and my fingers still look like shiny disco balls. Why I would return: -comfortable seating at the nail tables. Sturdy with room for ample bottoms -friendly and efficient service. There is NO NEED to be at a nail salon for hours. We were out in 45 min max including dry time. -welcoming reception. I love seeing my people when I'm out and she was very warm and inviting. So much so when I told people where we went to get our nails done they asked if she was working. -good job on the polish. Clean lines, no smudge, long/lasting. -NO CHEMICAL SMELLS. From a customer side this was nice - I'm sure from an employee side it's even better. -Super clean and modern. Sometimes nail shops can be worn down. It's clear this place is investing in the space - which makes a nicer work environment and experience for all.

Appointments: They are an incredibly busy nail salon, so I highly recommend making an appointment if you're thinking about getting a service done. They do take walk-ins, but you may have to wait. Service: I have now been to You & Co 4 times. Interestingly, I have learned that my experience differs quite a bit depending on the tech I get. The first time I visited was in the summer because I had a gift certificate. Sadly, my first time was not a great experience. I told the tech that I had ingrown toe nails. She did take care of it, but within a day, my toenail was infected, was painful, and had pus coming out. I almost didn't return. Then, when my salon closed, I decided to give You & Co another shot, since they have overwhelmingly positive reviews, and my first experience could have been a fluke. I wish I got the name of my nail tech for this second one because she did such an incredible job. My gel mani and pedicure were meticulously done, and my no-chip lasted for over 3 weeks. The third time, I had a guy, who was also meticulous. However, he recommended no more than 2 coats on my gel manicure. I get the reasoning so that my nails don't look thick, but unfortunately, my nails started chipping in less than a week. My pedicure lasted for over a month though! The last time I went in December, they were really informative in helping me with some fun holiday nails. I opted for the cat eye nail polish, which I loved. What I generally appreciate about You & Co is that they are quick but mostly detail-oriented. If you're busy, this is great.

Liked it so much, I went last Thursday (5 days ago) and did a mani/pedi with dazzle again. I went in the evening and by the next morning my nails already started chipping. I called them to let them know and they apologized and told me to come back. They had the same nail tech redo my nails, except I opted in to pay for no chip because I didn't trust the dazzle. They wrote off the $5 up charge which was nice. The tech asked me if I do house work. It hadn't even been 24 hours yet. What does that even matter? Last time I got dazzle they lasted so long. I thought getting the no chip was the move until my nails started chipping on Monday. Less than 3 days later. Come onnnnn!!! I'm super over it, I don't have time to drive the 30 min to re do them again. I'm going on vacation with chipped nails which is annoying as heck! I'm pretty sure it's the techs technique because I've done my nails many times, at one point for a few years straight and never had this issue. Disappointed to say the least! Waste of time and money Really hard to see in the photos because I ended up doing a neutral color. Glad I did or they'd be super noticeable. SMH. My toes are great, did them pink and they are looking great 5 days later. A different tech did those and that may be why!

The nail tech, (Nam) doesn't speak English but pretends to.This is particularly annoying because she can't follow instructions. $70 mani pedi. Both were half-assed. Pedi: After cutting my nails, I asked her if she could go shorter safely- without making them too short. She nodded and cut the big toenail so short she drew blood. This is when I suspected she couldn't understand me. No massage, scrub cream was applied to my legs and then rinsed off-no scrubbing. No real attempt to get rid of calluses. Mani-my nails are on the shorter side and I just wanted them to all be the same length and shape. I had to correct her several times because she wasn't following those simple instructions. Some of my nails ended up lopsided anyhow. No hand massage, no lotion and sloppy polish application. I had to ask her to redo several nails. When she's done, she takes me to the drying table, tells me how long to wait and starts to leave. Until I call her back to turn the drying fan on. (I couldn't find the switch). She stomped off, never to be seen again. I had to ask one of the other techs to bring my bag and shoes over, because she didn't. This was very disappointing.

I was able to schedule an appointment with Vanidy for the next day using the Vagaro app. The only issue I had with the app was if you want multiple services that aren't already bundled (i.e. if you wanted a regular manicure and a spa pedicure) then you have to book two separate appointments. Also there's a discrepancy on how much the no-chip upgrade costs (website says $25 but Vagaro says $30; I believe it is $30). I was one of the first appointments of the day, so it was quiet and everything was gleaming. Vanidy got my pedicure chair ready first before having me sit down, which I appreciated. The chair was more modern and the massage feature was clutch. Vanidy was very thorough and treated my feet and legs with care. I opted to add the extra 10 minute massage, which was worth every second. I wish there had been a little more attention on the feet, but having the pressure relief in my calves was needed and appreciated. When we switched to the manicure station, I was pleased to see the furniture was more midcentury than a typical nail salon; made it feel cozier. Again, Vanidy had everything laid out for me and was again so thorough. In recent manicures at other salons, I've had to ask the nail techs to clean up spots where they left polish on my skin or hadn't painted all the way to the end of the nail, but not so with Vanidy. I was pleasantly surprised to get booties and warmer mittens on my hands during the paraffin wax treatment, and I practically melted being so relaxed. My hands were baby soft, which feels like a miracle in this cold winter. I am obsesed with both my mani and pedi and can't stop looking at them. I've been texting friends about Flawless and encouraging them to go, and plan on taking my friend here when she visits in March. While it's pricier than what I normally can pay for nails, I will absolutely be back when I next need a splurge.

MyLinh went over my preferences and she requested I send a pic of the work I wanted done. I saw a picture off of Pinterest I wanted to replicate which required extensive artwork. With these parameters I also needed nail extensions. After going over preferences and quoting a price, Mylinh recommended I do the Russian manicure with builder gel application. I never had a Russian manicure before but was willing to try it out. She paired me with two technicians. Adele who did the manicure and Jamal who did the artwork. Russian manicures are high quality focusing on cuticle deep cleaning which can extend manicure wear. In fact, all of the work is dry application meaning your nails never get soaked in chemical solution. Total work with the artwork took 4 hours to complete with longer lasting results versus a traditional gel extensions. I kept my manicure over 3 weeks before seeing outgrowth and even then they still looked great! When it came time for removal they used a fine drill bit (no soaking was involved). I left with my natural nail intact with the nail bed feeling healthier than ever. Adele did a great job on my nails. She was gentle, patient and really took the quality of her work seriously. Jamal is a trained nail artist who does a good job with her nail art whether it's freestyle or replicating a design. The facilities are modern and clean with comfortable seating.
