I left a review warning the clients about the staff, the shop is under new management. I've went here maybe twice and at first I didn't recognize the staff but apparently they recognized me. The staff worked at a similar shop in Humboldt Park and I was a client for 7 years. One day I had an appointment and unfortunately the double and triple booked me. After taking off my polish and having me sit in the bowl for an hour - I had to leave. When I left the male tech chased after me and tried to force me to pay for a full pedicure but they hadn't done anything but sit me in water. When I refused, he spit at me and I never went back. Fast forward now, I moved and this is the closest shop. I didnt recognize them at first so I went twice. The third time I came in and they were busy I said okay but they were very rude and when he took off his mask I recognized him. I proceeded to write a review warning people about this incident. I wrote a review. I felt bad so I came back to do a small service, the same guy who spit at me confronted me in front of all of the clients. They wanted me to take the review down or they would be refusing service. Please do not go here. The work is decent, the prices are cheap and Katie is the nicest one. However, the male tech is a pig. My go-to nail salon! Appt rarely needed, convenient location and great prices. 9/10 times I get an EXCELLENT service. There have been a few times where the tech I get is either rushing or not paying attention to detail and I end up not getting exactly what I wanted. DO NOT GO HERE !!! I got a refill and i spent $38 for this. The guy doing my nails were burning my cuticles with the filer, i jumped a few time from the pain. The whole refill took 25 minutes. I asked why this refill was $38, employee said he shaped my nails and cleaned up my cuticles so i guess that costs $38. I spent $50 for a full set elsewhere that i attached a picture of and it was way better and i'll continue to go there. also while i was waiting, a lady asked for the manger cause she didn't like the way her nails looked like. i should have taken that as a sign to not waste my money 0/10 read more

I was here the day before New year's Eve. Was going to leave a very long post but they said I wrote too much. So these are the highlights. The person that was doing my nails did not want to put a false tip on. Did not want to do any type of design. There is no sanitation they are rude and no sense of personal hygiene. So I turned to my mother-in-law because she was nice enough to take her granddaughter and I out to do our nails. I said to her I'm not getting my nails done they don't want to put a tip on or do a design. My mother-in-law is very loud and speaks her mind. So she got upset very quickly when I said that and said why can't you put a nail on for her it's not that serious why can't you fix it. I was sitting over there it's not that serious I'll go somewhere else thank you for the pedicure. and my mother-in-law got mad and then the person doing her nails jumped up and said no I will fix it don't worry. But you will have to put on an acrylic or dip. I said no can you not just put super glue on it and then the no chip should be strong enough to hold it. They told me no. When I know for a fact you can do that . My mother-in-law is very persistent and persuaded me to get a manicure. Also I didn't want to be rude so. Like an idiot I looked up another picture of a design to get my nails done very simple just glitter on top of nail polish one nail polish only getting half glitter. I did this mainly because if I'm going to pay for my nails to get done might as well look like they were paid for. I could do a polish change the blush pink color I did because I had the same color at home. The reason why I say color change and not manicure. it's because she did not push down cut look at a cuticle I know she brought the cuticle cutters out and I think she cut like the tip of the corners beginning of my fingers. But definitely not a manicure. When I tried showing her the picture real really she said. And I quote can't you just let me do your nail first. How you going to know what I want done if I don't tell you. But I guess I understood since she didn't shape file she buffed in the nails. Then told me to go rinse my hands not wash my hands don't use soap. while she was painting my nails she complained about how long my nails were. She then called over the person doing my mother's in-laws nails . Which I really feel bad for my mother-in-law because this person has no sense of personal hygiene whatsoever. They smell like a dirty ashtray bad Bo. Like it was alarming I don't know how I did not. And my mother-in-law is a heavy smoker and it smelled like this person hasn't changed and was chain-smoking for 3 days. Their hands and underneath their nails is dirty. They do manicures for a living. This person had to do the falls tip and dip. once my niece and I were done moved to the waiting area where I overheard somebody else talking to their husband or boyfriend asking for cash for a tip and very disappointed in their nails as well when I significant other acts like you say anything she said it's fine it's fine give me cash so I can leave. A few seconds later my mother-in-law started yelling for me very cash for a tip. My niece and I scrounged up maybe $30 bucks. Because I only had it maybe $9 in cash. Everything else was on the card. And my niece had twenty bucks some how she's 12. Once we left my mother-in-law said that the block is used to scrub your foot was dirty she did not let them use it on her. And then I realize thinking back that nothing came out of his sanitation pack everything came out of drawers like if I kept it at home. read more

I like coming here to get my eyebrows waxed and shaped up. Phillip has been the only one I allowed to do my eyebrows. He makes sure that he takes his time and gets your eyebrows nicely shaped. I made the mistake of letting another person wax my eyebrows and it was a bit of a mistake. One of my eyebrows were going in a whole different direction. Today was my first time ever coming here. Andy was the guy who did my nails, he was very nice. I have never seen someone do a fill in as quick as him. Which was awesome because I was on my way to work. He was very clean and wanted to make sure that I liked my nails. I definitely recommend him. Ummm, there's no way I should walk into a business and immediately feel unwanted. No friendly welcome, no hello, just " go wash your hands". So I try and explain that I'm just getting a pedicure, she didn't let me finish before she screams at me " wash your hands please!". Okay cool, BET! By this time, I'm just a tad upset. I sit in the chair, mind you, I'm short, so this chair is a little far back for me. She is watching me play with the remote but refuses to ask me do I need help. Another customer walks in, of a different skin color, and she's greeted like they're old friends! Seriously!!! SMH!!! So far this is my favorite nail salon in the city of Chicago, no joke. I'm so happy to see their new location open, and I'm impressed with how lovely it is! Easy to get to, and with ample free parking, it's situated at the end of the strip, in the plaza that homes Jo Ann fabrics, Microcenter, and PetsMart. Nice pedicures with several add on options such as parafin treatment. Skilled staff is wonderful. The new pedicure chairs are insanely nice- great fluid motion massages with easy controls, dual cup holders, and sparkly bases and tubs. GLITTER! Yep, glitter bases on the chairs- so pretty. They still do acrylic nails and wraps unlike many unskilled places that have recently popped up, and they do them VERY GOOD. My no-chip manicures always last the longest when they come from here. Seriously, I've gone a month without a single chip. I love the fact that they have such an extensive selection of polish & no-chip to pick from at all times. Also, if you're like me and like to color coordinate your fingers and toes but prefer no chip on your fingers- they have their bottles marked with color-coordinated shades so they can easily grab a matching polish to your no chip for your toes. I've been to numerous places where they play The Guessing Game and have to go back and forth between shades trying to find which one matches the no chip which can take time and you're never quite sure you got the right color. At Lee Nails it's always easy and quick to match shades between regular polish and gel. The new location is absolutely gorgeous. I'll be back. read more

I was hesitant to write this review as the workers were so kind but I felt needed to warn others! I got a dip manicure and the nails themselves are okay but I have cuts all around my cuticles. They used the drill to remove them. It wasn't super painful at the time but when I got home I noticed that all of my nails are lined with blood and cuts. It hurts to wash my hands. read more

As a loyal customer that visits at least every two weeks it's sad to say that Lee nails has officially lost my business and everyone else I have referred them to. I arrived yesterday at 330 the shop was more busy than normal but nothing a professional place shouldn't be able to handle. I didn't make an appointment but used to sign in sheet. 30-45 mins pass and I notice that people who walked in after me with out an appt (I'm standing at the front can clearly hear them say no appt please sign in) are now being seating. I finally get told to take a seat at one of their nails stations only to be moved back to the waiting area 30 mins later. At this point I'm getting frustrated but keep telling myself "you waited this long already any other shop will be packed since now it's close to 5". I finally receive another seat. Mind you I have no chip you would think while I'm waiting someone could at least have my nails soaking. I return to the useless front desk person and ask her who exactly am I waiting for. She replies who ever is available next. I let her know I been waiting for now over an hour I take a look at the sign in sheet everyone that signed in after me has been taken care of. She replies there are still 3 people ahead of me. I can seriously go on and on about how unprofessional and disorganized this salon is. I walked out at 5pm after waiting almost 2 hours! I'm sure I wasn't the only customer they lost yesterday another lady walked out before me. So the reason I went here was for convenience sake - I ended up having the 'deluxe' manicure for $22. Few things: the salt scrub and paraffin were decent enough but I am spoiled by shoulder massages almost everywhere else. That seemed to be expected while I waited with my hands in the paraffin - not so much. After she took the wax off it was time to pay - no massage with lotion or anything. I was a bit surprised. Also, from the beginning she just filed my nails into sharp square corners, no offer to cut them down. Again, this isn't my regular spot so I figured whatever but for $22 no massage or hot towels?! The pedicure chairs looked nice and the service menu descriptions rather appealing so maybe I'll be back to try one. I came here a week prior to get no chip manicure , removal of acrylic nails and a pedicure! Everything was fine total with a 15.00 tip was $79.00 . I noticed after four days two fingers have chipped pretty badly. I'm a flight attendant so I'm constantly washing my hands that could be part of the reason. Once I'm back in Chicago , I return to the salon, to see if they could fix the two chipped nails, every other nail was ok. The person taking appointments asked me rudely do you know who did your nails , are you sure it was here. I said yes I live down the street and I've come here many times. I pull out the salon business card with the techs name on it and my receipt. The techs then try's to persuade me to change all the nail color for new color. I said how much is that? She says 25.00 I said no thanks seeing I just got them done I only want the two nails that are chipped to be fix. She states speaking Chinese acting rude tell me to try and match the color I had . I said I wasn't sure if she could assist me in matching the color she wouldn't. Long story short she mismatched the color . Screamed at me said it was my fault cause I picked the color . My nails had broken within 24 hours of getting the nails done. Mind you I do not work at a very heavy job. The lady who did my Acrylic set made the nail really thin. Everything that is in the picture of my broken nail was actually my nail with a thin layer of the acrylic nail. I went in to get the issue fixed and they said they would charge me to fix them and/or remove them even though they were clearly not done right. Within 48 hours the nails were chipping its color and three of the nails had broken. The nail tech that did my nails painted them then followed through with a nail file on all of them, literally removing the actual paint from my nails. I have never actually broken a nail ever In my life, I take care of my acrylic nails a lot in fact but by the end of three days I had four broken nails with chipping nail polish and an infected cut from the drill. I have been to this location a few times and decided to get my acrylic nails removed. One of the male nail tech struggled to remove them and filed down my natural nails super thin. There are obvious redness and damage underneath my nails. I've gotten my acrylic nails removed all the time at different locations and this has never happened until I tried this place out. It's been four days since the removal. All my fingertips are still super sensitive and am not able to do anything (can't even wash my hair). It feels like my nail will break if I apply pressure or bend it. My nails, in fact, has chipped since then. Aside from that I had to ask the nail tech at the time to shape the edge of my nails three times after he said it was done. The edges were all so sharp, crooked and piece of my nail was still hanging onto the corner of my finger. Was not worth $10 for this type of poor service. Super disappointed. read more

I think it's ludicrous that this is the only nail place within a square mile of this shopping center because Lee Nails just plain sucks. I was acknowledged when I walked in. By acknowledgement I just mean that someone told me to put my name on the paper to sign in. No estimated wait time or anything. I sat for about 20 minutes before I said something since no one acknowledged me after I signed in. It took about three minutes for the employees to talk it out before they determined it would be at least 30 minutes before I would even sit down for my manicure. That's when I left. It takes 20 minutes to do a regular manicure - why should I sit around here for 90 minutes for that? On a day like New Year's Eve you should definitely have more than three employees in the whole place. Today is a big party day so if you're going to bother being open at all, get some real service. I've never had to wait more than 10 minutes at any nail place to have my mani/pedi started. This is unbelievable and I can guarantee I'll never come back here again. I had my gel nails taken off for the summer so I could fall off my skateboard and not break them. Summer's over, so I went here based on a 2009 review saying they use real liquid gel nails. So I get the tips put on, and he pulls out this sweet, plasticy smelling "gel powder," which I know does not exist. It's this scam where they put acrylic on because it's cheaper and then top it off with a gel UV coat. I ask him to show me where the acrylic powder is and he sort of sheepishly looked around and then called the manager over. I tell him I'm not for it, and he brings over the manager who basically admits that it's just a gel overlay. He was sort of apologetic and offered a no-chip manicure which was in his words, "it *is* all gel." No thanks. Two stars because the salon is clean and nice, the people getting pedicures seemed happy, and the employees were nice. This is not the place for artificial nails, though. So, even though I'm giving Lee Nails 5 stars (because really, I've become that girl who likes to get my nails done)...I felt I should warn anyone who thinks this is a place to do your eyebrows. Actually, you know what, Jessie and Tina are both great and will not fuck up your eyebrows. One person here will, and I had to learn the hard way. That was my fault for becoming too comfortable with the staff here and for being lazy and not doing them on my own as I had for years. Oh Lee Nails. I do love you, but opening late is not OK in my book. I've been a customer of Lee Nails every 2 weeks pretty religiously for a year and a half now. I arrived yesterday at 9:50, 10 minutes before they opened. I was outside at 10am on the dot and no one showed up to let me in until 10:10. I own my own business, and opening late is totally unacceptable. I was on a very tight schedule and was just put 10 minutes behind by them opening late. And, because of this I had to add a no-chip manicure on TOP of gel nails to stay on time which cost me extra. However, I do like their work. They do a great job, the place is clean, the price is great and the people are nice, so I will continue to go back. Just PLEASE, open on time!! read more
