Insanely good pizza and excellent service. The hangover shrimp is the bomb. We'll definitely be back for other food here!

Island Outpost is deceptive. From the exterior, it looks like an old gas station. From the interior, it looks like someone dropped a tiki bar into a beer cooler. It takes spending some time here to discover this diner's treasures. First, John, the main cook, is a master at the greasy spoon. There are little surprises- in-house smoked pork, pressed cubans, a Mango glaze made by an Ozello local for the pancakes- that elevate the food even further. Expect to see a full bar and dining room during breakfast and dinners (don't worry, there's more space outside and at the cafeteria-style tables on the other side of the bar). Second, come here a few times and expect to be treated like a local. Laurie, the amazing server, will keep your favorite beer in stock in the cooler. John will innovate with your usual order (If you love a Cuban for dinner, then you'll extra love his spin on it for breakfast: add a couple fried eggs! How about smoked pork on pizza?) This is definitely a locals' hangout, but it isn't just for old-timer Ozello-ans. Third, Island Outpost is one of the most generous businesses I have seen. They provide meals for major holidays and host the most rocking Christmas party you've seen. Much of their produce is grown by one of their neighbors. Their small store is stocked with edible items crafted by locals, like hot sauces, pepper jellies, and honey sourced from the bees under the water tower. Island Outpost is a cornerstone of the Ozello community. If you've made it this far, why aren't you already driving over there?!

Delicious breakfast, filling, reasonably priced, friendly service. Definitely worth the visit if you're on Ozello.

Mr. John always has great home cooked food. It's a nice little hole in the wall kind of place.

Great place, best BBQ sandwich I ever ate. John does the meat right out front. $1 drafts complete the deal.

One of the employees usually says hello when you enter the store. I picked up my prescription and was helped by the nicest young man, it took about 10min total at the pharmacy to get my prescription. I did some shopping afterwards and could not locate disposable gloves anywhere and the nicest employee who was also restocking asked if I needed help. Henric walked me over to the cleaning products and handed me a pack of disposable gloves just what I was looking for, how kind was that. He also helped me locate a few other items and I sure did appreciate his assistance, what a nice person. I found everything I needed and much to my surprise, most all were on sale. I approached the checkout and they had 2 employees helping people at the registers. I checked out with the sweetest and friendliest young man and he even chatted with me while I waited. Got checked out in a timely fashion and went on my way. How great is that to be helped out by 3 super nice male employee's. Give this location a try, I think it's great! Debbie

This year however they have extended that savings to other sandwiches and wraps! I decided to get a Classic 10 inch Italian hoagie on a whole wheat roll. I asked for the roll only to be slightly toasted. My choice of ingredients were : Mayo, Pepper Jack Cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, pickles, salt, pepper and oregano. The meats that Wawa uses is Ham and Salami - both were a decent amount on the roll. It was a very tasty hoagie for only six dollars! I also ordered a medium size Chicken Noodle soup to go with it. The aroma was so scrumptious smelling when I took the lid off. Broth was great and the container was loaded with a great amount of chicken meat and dutch style egg noodles. It also had pieces of celery and carrot. Very comforting. For dessert I had one of my guilty pleasures - a soft pretzel! This thing was huge! Salted just right and all I did was put it in my air fryer for three minutes to warm it up which made it a little crispy. It was very good especially with yellow mustard on the side. We will definitely go back for another sandwich before their hoagiefest ends - I might try one of their club sandwiches next! I highly recommend to try their sandwiches especially during their annual hoagiefest and don't forget to sign up for their rewards card - save up enough for free food - even a hoagie! LOL

I didn't think this was a thing- but it's a thing. I ordered my sandwich on a kiosk and then paid at the main cashier. The deli sees the order is paid for and will call your ticket number when it's ready. The Turkey sandwich was good but a bit overstuffed with meat and the bread/cheese/coldcut ratio was off. Service: if you order at the kiosk (machine) in the store it takes 10 minutes to get you sandwich. Beverages are self serve in the store. Unless you order a milkshake. They looked good! Overall, the gas station and quick service market are clean and easy to use. The sandwich ticket must be paid for at the register before picking it up. The staff look for the receipt. It took me a minute to figure out their payment protocol (rules). I thought the customer picked up the sandwich then checked out. Eventually, when the lady wouldn't release the sandwich I realized I needed to get the receipt. Maybe better signage would assist first time in store customers on payment protocol (rules). I will go back again to try a milkshake in the future.
