Cappo's Italian Deli is located in Crystal River on the right side of US Hwy 19 going North. It's situated in a small strip store area. It's a small deli with a few tables for a place to eat in but they do mostly take out. It may be small but it's big on flavor! My husband went there to order us sandwiches because we've been hearing good things about them. I have to agree with the general consensus! I have my husband pick me up their Italian sub called Capone's Italian. Made with Boar's Head meats : Capicola, Genoa Salami, Pepperoni, Picante Provolone Cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion, mayo and their deli dressing served on a 10 inch demi baguette roll. It was delicious! Definitely a hearty sandwich so it might make two meals for you as it did for me. My husband had their Italian Sausage sandwich which he loved too! It was large enough to feed two people and scrumptious. He said he would definitely order it again. Cappo's Italian Deli also offers a variety of different side salads such as potato salad, pasta salad and even chickpea salad along with their Chef salads, Greek salads and Italian salads. They offer desserts also - not a large variety but they look delicious! Assorted Cannolis which come in two sizes : Large and Mini plus Cheesecakes and Assorted Cakes. Hubby brought home a mini Pistachio Cannoli as a treat and I have to say it was scrumptious. The filling was perfect - not too sweet just perfect sweet and it was loaded with crushed pistachios. The shell was crispy and very fresh tasting. My hubby was treated very nicely by the lady at the cash register and the gentleman who made our sandwiches. They were friendly and prompt in their service. We will be stopping by again to try their other sandwiches and pasta meals that they offer only on certain days of the week. I found this little gem yesterday tucked in a Plaza I drive by all the time..I actually picked up a menu at an office close by and called them to see where they were located...How have I driven by this place for over a year? Nice little place inside, some tables to dine in and let me tell you at Noon, it was packed in there with people getting their take out orders! Daily specials, hot food and also side salads to go with your meals, desserts and Cannolis too ..Very large Sandwiches and made to order fresh and delicious... They have a combo for 3.50 more where you get a drink and bag of chips or a side salad, we got the Pasta Salad and it was very good...ordered Chicken Salad Wrap and Ham and Swiss and both very big.,we even got a Mini Cannolis for being first time guests which I thought was a nice touch! This is a must try.. Donna makes the Cannolis and they do not dissapoint. Kevin the chef and sandwich maker, will treat you right. The sandwich toppings alone will blow your mind. Small sub to thr large if you are really hungry. Genuine bagel brought in from up North- awesome bagel with Lox and cream cheese. Italian sub- just like New England. This deli is clean . The staff is friendly and helpful. We were hungry for a good sandwich. They have hot and cold food. They even sell boar's head. We got the large Italian. It was very large . We split one half. The meat and cheese was good. The bread was very big and falling apart from moisture. The vinegar had little flavor. The soup was pasta fagioli but didn't have a lot of flavor. I had the meatball parm hero and it comes in 2 halves .its huge & the meatballs were good.i ordered the full & it was $18.def worth to feed 2 people .unfortunately the roll got soggy from the sauce & didn't hold the sandwich together. The wife and I went here for the first time today for lunch. They have just the right amount of selections to make ordering easy. I had the Italian sausage w/ onions and green peppers hoagie. The sausage was spot on delicious. The peppers and onions were cooked just the way they should be - sautéed in oil with still a bit of snap when bitten into. My wife had the tuna sandwich which she said was excellent. She had to take half home. The service was very friendly. The dining room was small but clean. Only four tables but they seat four each. I want to go back for breakfast to try the bagels. We will definitely be going back for takeout for picnics and beach days. read more

Stopped by Cappo's while we were visiting Crystal River. Food was great, we ordered 4 small subs and 4 mini cannolis. The staff was friendly and helpful, and we had our food quickly. We decided to grab a seat and dine there before our drive back to Orlando. The seating area was clean and comfortable. Overall, you can tell they take pride in the shop and their food. We have driven past a few times and always say we are gonna stop. Today we did and are so happy we stopped. We were greeted by two of the nicest folks. We got some sausage and peppers, cannoli's and cheese cake to take home. Everything was fantastic! We will be going back real soon. read more

Kevin and his wonderfully personable female coworkers (of course I forgot their names but they were awesome) are all amazing. The food was absolutely fantastic: from the all beef Italian meatballs (better than my own Nona's...wow...and 99 cents per meatball...What?!!...a steal) to the stuffed green pepper (stuffed with a delicious beef and rice mixture) that I truly enjoyed. They've got a hot 'take out' food section with very reasonable pricing and the hot food choices change daily. It's perfect for a take out lunch or dinner for me and my hubby. I'm looking forward to trying their breakfast next and the bagels look fresh and are assorted. They've got a permanent customer with me, for sure and for certain. The bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast bagel is the best we have had anywhere. The bacon was crispy, they used white american cheese which complemented it nicely and the egg was cooked just right so the yolk was soft but not super runny. And the price was good too. read more
