On the way back to the car we saw it again and decided to try the Strawberry Bingsu. Our party shared the bowl and loved it so much we decided to also try the Mango Bingsu. Standard generous portion for a bingsu location, notably generous for an Ala Moana location. The location itself was free of insects despite being on a ground floor location with sugary desserts everywhere. Meh: The $14 (including 15% tip) dessert tasted too light and ice-like and appeared more translucent (rather than opaque white) than expected, leading me to think the milk was watered down, which may be how the establishment can make up the cost for the portion size while maintaining a spot in Ala Moana, especially given milk prices in Hawai'i, even if you're buying from Costco or direct from farmers. Also, tables were not cleaned after each party departed; that transparent puddle on your table might not be condensation and may instead be drool drops from the toddler who sat there before you. It took us a little bit to find Jeju Bing! For anyone else looking, it is located very close to one of the Ala Moana food court entrances. Keep in mind that there isn't a restroom inside the shop itself, but since you're so close to the food court, you can just use the facilities there. We visited with a group of six, and we were happy to find that there was a plenty of space to accommodate all of us comfortably. Then find Auntie Anne's pretzel, find the entry exit doors to the left. Jejubing is right outside those doors on the left. Decent selection of bingsu deserts and drinks. We ordered two small bowls via the kiosk. One mango and one strawberry. Good size bowl prob more than many folks can eat. They have a large good for sharing desserts came with extra cups of condensed milk. Fruit topping and sauce were overflowing the bowls. And topped with whipped cream. Mango was sweet, ripe and soft. Strawberries were fresh but tart. The shaved ice was velvety and mildly creamy so use the extra condensed milk to cater the ice to your preference. The service was great. We asked to have the table wiped down as it was sticky. She quickly came over to wipe it down. Pleasantly gave us two glasses of water when asked. Not only do they serve up delicious shave ice, but their drinks and toast options are just as tempting. When it comes to dessert, I don't mess around--I like to try everything. We went with the mango bingsu (a classic favorite) but of course, I couldn't stop there. I also had to try the drinks and the toast, because... balance. It would be helpful if it is clearly stated on the menu that there are almonds in the Oreo bingsu. Perhaps we missed it. Early evening on a Monday and this place is packed. First impression, must be good. Upon entering it's a free seating style cafe with an upper level. Lots of table but also lots of people. Ordering is done on a machine. A live person at the register is available, you may have to wait shortly or wave them down as they are multitasking (cleaning, preparing, and packaging orders). Staff is friendly. The menu seemed promising but the dessert didn't quite hit it off for me. It was on the bland side and the ice texture wasn't as fine as other venues. Jejubing Dessert Cafe is on the Makai side of AMC, next to the Cat Cafe Moff. Mostly empty, the interior is not cluttered and ( thankfully ) nicely air-conditioned. There is a second level...making for a spacious interior. The K-pop...loud and super annoying. I requested the Watermelon Bingsu which was very refreshing. Fresh, diced watermelon on a pillowy bed of shaved ice, garnished with sliced almonds and topped with whipped cream. A side bowl of condensed mik is included. It was not coyingly sweet - as most Asian desserts tend to steer consumers away from diabetes. Parking...it's AMC...good luck. But stalls are plentiful. read more

There is a good variety of flavor options and there are also other things on the item if you're not feeling bingsu! We got the mango bingsu and it was delicious! There's not too much I can say about flavors since it is shave ice after all but it's definitely sweet but not in an overbearing way. We waited about 10-15 minutes to get our two bingsus. There is a good amount of seating but it does get pretty crowded during their rush hours. You might have to wait a little to get a table if you do come during those times but I've never waited more than 10-15 minutes for one. If you've never had bingsu, you need to come here. It's so different from shave ice, in a good way. The ice is really creamy and super soft. I love that jejubing uses fresh fruit that are in season! Pro tip: the real magic happens at the end when it melts into a sweet, slurpable soup (maybe melty bingsu isn't the worst thing after all?). I hardly ever go to this side of Ala Moana, but as it turned out, I happened to follow a few friends during a Pokemon Go event and ended up having dessert here at Jejubing dessert cafe. And as such, we ended up staying here and ordered a few things to relax and enjoy the event that was happening that day. The café itself was large enough to wear maybe 50 people could sit at any given time. During the time I was there with my friends, it was very packed. It was standing room only, and my friends had gotten the last table available, and I was forced to stand. I ended up getting a strawberry smoothie, which ended up taking at least 20 minutes. I guess they were busy or that popular at that time. It was pretty crazy how this cafe is popular with the rise of bubble teas and customized tea drinks here in Hawaii. I prefer plain unsweetened tea myself. Way healthier and cost less without added ingredients. My time here spent with friends was about an hour or so. And so, the ambiance here was generally loud and not much of anything. Unless you were here during the mornings or before closing, you're bound to have alot of people here during peak times. It generally sucked when I had to stand around and wait for my strawberry smoothie when all the seating were occupied. It is what it is, unfortunately. There was central air conditioning but I did not really feel it while I was there. Just got in and ordered my smoothie while hanging out with friends. After an hour here, my friends and I decided to head back out and continue the Pokemon event. The overall experience here at Jejubing dessert cafe was decidedly mixed. It was nice to check out a new option at Ala Moana shopping center that had been around for a year, but at the same time, it was too popular. The service was good enough, especially with them handing me my order when it was ready. The waiting time was less than desirable but it is what it was. The cafe was relatively brand new so that was nice. The white walls was impressive with some decorative arrangements that seem to make the cafe feel more modern and inclusive. The interesting part was that it felt more Asian than anything else, if that made sense. For the most part though, it felt like a tea bar more than a Starbucks. Even though it felt like a Starbucks, they didn't serve enough variety of coffee drinks to be considered a coffee house. They mainly served tea drinks and some smoothie flavors, which is the bulk of their business offerings anyway. For what it is, it's a good alternative to other bubble tea places around the island and it's centrally located at Ala Moana shopping center for your convenience. If nothing else, it can be a nice little hang out with friends and family during your time here. I've had mixed feelings about my first visit here, especially with standing room only and the 25 minute wait for my strawberry smoothie. I should come back and enjoy the business when it's less crowded for a better pleasant time. While my experience was less than stellar, I hope to be back sooner than later. As far as parking goes, Ala Moana shopping center has a ginormous selection of parking spaces for you to choose from. Best bet would be to park as close to Jejubing dessert cafe to secure the best parking spot possible and walk on over before the lunch or dinner rush. Just remember to make sure you can find your car afterwards. If you are like me, many public buses begins, passes thru, or terminates at Ala Moana shopping center. Choose the right routes that's pertinent for your travel needs. And of course, Lyft and uber are always there for you whenever you need their services. While my experience can be a cautionary tale of being there when it's too many people at once, I'm glad that they are that busy. While the wait can be a pain and tough to just kill time for my order to finish, it can be very frustrating when you have things to do in the area while waiting for your order. I guess I'll have to come back sometime soon to reassess. But for now though, the service was good and friendly and the prices were reasonable enough, compared to Jamba Juice. Even though Jamba Juice promotes healthy smoothies, Jejubing is also good and delicious while using natural ingredients and is the quality choice for anyone and everyone. The cafe is clean and inviting. Do yourself a favor and come in and enjoy. Hopefully, you'll have a better experience than I did. 3.5 stars for the overall experience. My friend ordered the Taro flavor with red bean and mochi and that one might've been my favorite. Even with the pour of condensed milk it still wasn't too sweet. The ice isn't chunky and melts nicely in your mouth. Service was so friendly and quick, they have ample seating and a nice spot to just hangout and enjoy some dessert.
