Two of the worst experiences ever!!!! If i could give zero stars I would!! This company was recommended by my mom's neighbor so I assumed they were reputable. Being that my Mom lives on the north shore of Long Island and people from this area expect the best and can be hard to please, I expected no problems. I booked a van with this company thanksgiving week to get five of us to JFK. At 8:30 (the time I booked) I began to get nervous as no car had arrived. With any other airport limo service the car arrived ten to fifteen minutes early to allow for the loading of luggage. I called Gino the owner who assured me the driver was five minutes away. 15 minutes later AND STILL NO CAR! also, Gino must have recognized my number on caller ID and would not answer the phone!! My dad called and he said his driver overslept and would leave now. We ended up having to take two cars to the airport AND WE WERE FLYING HOME TO A DIFFERENT AIRPORT. Gino apologized and offered us a voucher. I tried to use that voucher yesterday and arranged for a pick up time of 2:20. 2:53 AND NO CAR AGAIN!! Gino claimed there was traffic. We had to scramble for a ride to JFK! The car pulled into my neighborhood as we left and it was not a van like we booked but a Lincoln town car that would not have even fit our stuff. Don't ever use islander airport shuttle. They made us wait over an hour so that they could pick up someone coming in on a later flight. They picked us up in a dirty van with no air conditioner. I will never use them again. They didn't care that we were standing outside. When we called and said that we were ready they acted like they were on the way but they knew they weren't coming for a while so we just stood out there looking for them to arrive. well, i never complained about a car service. we were picked up by a respectful driver in a beat up car. ie., brakes squealing , right front passanger hub bad. we got there safely. on the wayhome from out trip, i contacted the driver that we had just landed. we taxied for about 15 minutes. the captain states alot of traffic. the driver kept haunting me when he can pick us up. i told him we are not deplaning as of yet. we waited 15 minutes for the luggage to come down. we got one piece of luggage and had to wit 20 minutes for our final piece of luggage. all this time, i am getting texts from the driver..' where are you??" i keep telling him that we are still waiting. this is what really pisses me off.....he threatened to leave us at kennedy airport if we dont show up. i call the company..tells me to claim down..wtf. we finally get our luggage and on the way.. all we got on the way home was bitching. told him to move on. called the company and was blown off.. done..do not use...just my two cents..take or leave it. read more

Called to confirm that we would be picked up n was told by him to call when we landed. He would not pick up his phone and no driver came to get us. We had to use a cab to get home. I seriously do not know where or how to begin this review. I do quite a bit of traveling and found myself in a rut when it came to traveling back and forth to the airport. It became a regular routine for me to log onto the Internet and make my shuttle reservations. I had been doing this for a number of years always using a Shuttle Service who refers to themselves as "Super." They did an excellent job by promptly arriving to my home earlier than expected. I even had some drivers who would blow their horn letting me know that they were out front. Unfortunately many of my neighbors did not take kindly of this; especially during the wee hours of the morning. I always dreaded being picked up at the airport after a week's worth of travel behind me and then to be told over and over that "We'll be there in about another 20 minutes." I am not sure what made me look for another shuttle service. It may have been waiting over 2 hours with my wife and daughter at JFK Airport after a family vacation or it could have been the time I received a call from this shuttle service's "Super" dispatcher approximately 6 hours prior to going to the airport and being advised that they had to cancel my reservation because they did not have any vans on Long Island going to the airport. Instead of relaxing before traveling to Seattle, I frantically began an Internet search for another shuttle service. Lo and behold, I was pleasantly surprised when I dialed (631) 761-6900. This is the phone number of Islander Airport Shuttle. I spoke to a fellow by the name of Gino and explained my sudden predicament to him. Gino immediately put me at ease as he promised me that he would have a car at my house that would get me to the airport in the morning. Once the Islander Airport Shuttle Van arrived to pick me up, I was taken aback by the cleanliness of the vehicle and the courteous driver. I could not believe what a wonderful experience this turned out to be for me. This experience was again true when I returned from my trip and had Islander Airport Shuttle pick me up at the airport. I waited less than 10 minutes! A few days afterwards I called Islander Airport Shuttle and spoke to Gino to personally thank him and compliment him in regards to the service his company provided me. During our conversation, I discovered that Gino is the owner who has decades of experience in the limousine business. It showed by the service I received! Since September of 2012 I have used Islander Airport Shuttle four (4) more times. Each and every experience has resulted in 5 Star Service. I highly recommend Islander Airport Shuttle if you are on Long Island and need an airport shuttle service; one way or round trip. Keep up the GREAT JOB Gino! I would also like to say thanks to some of the drivers too; Nick, Mike, Mike (there are 2 drivers by the name of Mike) Louis and Byron who are all very professional. Easily one of the most poorly run livery services around. I scheduled a pickup for a trip to/from LaGuardia. Scheduled pickup time was 10:30am. Driver finally showed up at 11:00am after two phone calls to complain. Driver then tells me he "only got the call 10 minutes ago". 10 minutes into the ride, the driver comments that there's traffic on the way to JFK but he'll still get me there on time. Great... except my trip was to LaGuardia, not JFK. Dispatch gave him the wrong airport. The return trip was also a disaster. Since the return was pre-paid, I decided to roll the dice and go with them even though the trip in was a mess. Driver tells me he'll be waiting in the cell phone lot and to call when I land. He has all of my flight info. I even confirmed with him before I got on the plane. Plane lands... called driver... he tells me "things don't look so good". He's stuck in central NJ on another job. Wonderful! Waited 1 hour and 15 minutes for him to get to the airport to take me home. Never again will I deal with these amateurs. Avoid at all costs. read more

the absolute worst!!!!! i requested a car to the airport for my boss a week prior to his trip..... the morning of his flight the car did not arrive , after several call a car showed up 45 minutes late. no apologies, no excuses. to add insult to injury a town car was ordered and a toyota camry showed up , luggage and passengers had no choice but to squeeze in ! never, never, never again!!!!! read more

No wonder this disaster of a company mostly has gotten 1 star. If I could have given zero stars I would have. First, when I ordered and was assured that I would have a private ride, a 10-passenger van arrived 30 MINUTES LATE. And there was absolutely no room for the 3 passengers I had and our 2 sets of skis. I had to cancel the ride and drive myself to the airport. I barely got to the gate in the nick of time. Then I was assured by Sal that I'd get my $ refunded immediately. 3 days later, the credit card still wasn't credited back. When I called to inquire, I was yelled at and called a liar. Do not use this company! I would give it zero if I could. I write this as I wait at the airport for an Uber. They call me when my flight lands and tell me not to call them until after I pick up my bags. My flight took a while to taxi and they had to change terminals. They called me back as I am waiting to get off the plane which didn't make sense as I didn't get my bags yet. I told them about the switch and that we were just notified. Their employee/dispatcher in a nice, professional manner proceeded to tell me "you're killing me bro. You can't do that to me. We aren't a small company. " then tells me he doesn't know when he can get to me. I told him I have an infant and can't really wait around in the cold forever and needed to know that he was going to get me and he said he didn't know when someone would come to me. He told me the taxi should have only taken 10 minutes, almost insinuating I was lying. We then got into to a verbal argument and I cancelled the service. Shame on them for putting a customer in that awkward situation of trying to put blame on me and fighting with me. Very unprofessional. You'd think they have done this before. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. We needed a taxi to JFK very early in the morning and called a couple companies, comparing prices. This place didn't have the $60 shuttle at the time we needed, but they did have what they described as "a personal town car." The driver got there early and beeped the entire time, even though we told him to be quiet since it was 5 in the morning and people were still sleeping inside the house. The car was also NOT a town car as advertised, it was a Toyota minivan. The driver didn't help us get our luggage into the car. Once we got driving, the driver sped down the highway, weaving in and out of lanes and moving very jerkily, making my father and I very sick. The entire time he was coughing like he had the plague. My father told him we weren't in a rush, and that he didn't have to speed down the Southern State. The driver told us that HE was in a rush because he had taken cold medicine for his fever/cold and was sleepy. He said he wanted to get us to the airport safe before he fell asleep. Who let this guy drive? Not only is this terrible service, it's probably reckless endangerment. Unfortunately, there was an already agreed-upon price that included a tip, or we wouldn't have given any tip whatsoever. It was expensive too for the ridiculously terrible service ($110). We still have half a mind to call this company and demand a refund. We ought to report them to the police. read more

I booked a shuttle to pick 14 of my quests up at the hotel the day of my wedding to bring them to my ceremony. The shuttle was booked for 3:30pm with a 3:40 departure time to arrive at my ceremony at 3:55-4:00 (15 minute drive) The shuttle did not arrive to pick my guests up until 4:02pm when my ceremony was scheduled to begin at 4:00pm. Due to the late shuttle, my ceremony started late to wait for my guests to arrive. When I called the next day to find out what happened, I was given 2 different excuses rather than the truth. Excuse # 1: The shuttle arrived at 3:15 and left to drive around since my guests were not there (they were not supposed to be there at 3:15). **This also does not make sence since the hotel had a parking lot. Excuse # 2: The shuttle waited for all 14 guests and that is the reason they arrived to my wedding late. **There were in fact only 11 guests in the shuttle since 3 people took a taxi at 3:55pm when the shuttle still was not there so they could avoid arriving to my wedding late. The bottom line is they showed up late and provided very poor service and Gino the owner did not even admit their fault. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE... read more

I called Islander Airport Shuttle 3 days in advance to book car service to Islip MacArthur airport. I spoke to Gino who took all the informations and also confirmed the vehicle was going to be a Towncar. I asked to have a reservation confirmation e-mailed to me and i was told " yes absolutely". After not receiving the reservation confirmation I called and asked for it again. I was told the system" did not run yet but you will get it. Never got a reservation confirmation....Well the morning of the reservation came and I had a 7am reservation. NO CAR...i called at 7:15, sounded like I woke the dispatcher (or whoever answered the phone) who didn't know anything about my reservation. He attempted to contact someone else to arrange for a pickup but now its too late. I had to scramble for a ride to the airport. Then later the same day, Gino called my home to confirm the reservation?? What?? The reservation was missed!!! Travel is stressful enough and you need to depend on your reservations that were made !!! DO NOT USE Islander Airport Shuttle they are truly NOT DEPENDABLE !!!! read more

Then, when I cancelled the return trip because I didn't trust them to show and made arrangements with another service, they did show. Then come to find out, they charged my credit card when I first made the reservation, even though they said they had no record of that reservation as an excuse for the no-show. First leg was good but never showed up on my return to JFK and then proceeded to argue with me i gave them the wrong date. On Wed Oct 1st, 6 of my neighbors and myself took a 4-day trip to Las Vegas. We had hired Islander Airport Shuttle on the recommendation of another neighbor. Gino was very courteous to me when I made the reservation and confirmed it. The driver was 15 minutes earlier than his pick up time which was great because it was 7am and we were going to JFK with weekday traffic. There were 3 pick-ups in my community and Louis was wonderful loading the luggage and getting us to the airport in plenty of time. Upon our return, when we claimed our baggage, we called Gino who told us where to wait for our pick-up. The van was there in less than 5 minutes. I must say that both drivers were polite, drove safely, vans were clean and the both trips were a positive experience. I would not hesitate to use this company again and I'd recommend them highly. read more

Been using them since shortly after they started. The first few years were great however it's been all down hill for a while now. I recommend them to a friend and her 80 year old mother who were arriving at LGA but first they didn't show and then another service showed up saying Gino sent them but he circled the airport for 30 mins looking to pick up more people until finally they got out and left so her mother could use the bathroom. They called a family member to get them instead. Today I had them booked to the airport this morning and I realized 30 mins before they were due to show up that they never called the night before to confirm. I called him and he said he must've called the wrong number so no one was dispatched! I had 6 of us waiting to get to the airport for a flight! So he said he would have someone there in 20 mins. I waited 15 and called the driver directly who was clearly still at home but swore he was on the road and 20 miles away! We called uber who came in 10 minutes. I called the driver to cancel once we were in the uber and he was still 20 minutes away. We are done with this company. read more

DO NOT USE ISLANDER AIRPORT SHUTTLE! I had to give it one star to write this. I reserved a shuttle for my wife and two kids to be picked up at the LaGuardia Airport at 11:00 am, my wife called when the plane landed and was told it will be there in 10-15 minutes and to call back when she gets her luggage. When she called back, she was told it will be another 15 minutes. 30 minutes later still no shuttle, she called back and was told the shuttle was in Brookyn in traffic and to find another way of transportation. Let see, at 11:00 she was told it would be there a 11:15, at 11:45 it was in traffic in Brooklyn. HOW WAS IT GOING TO BE AT LGA AT 11:15 if it was in Brooklyn. Bulls**t, they never sent a shuttle to begin with. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO TAKE THE RISK OF BEING STRANDED without a ride, by all means use Islander Airport Shuttle, they will meet your expectations.
