Stayed there this weekend for a girls trip and it was great. Lots of security. The pool was awesome. Everything was clean there were a lot of worker cleaning up after all of the party goes. Picture is from our balcony after they clear out of the pool area. Music stops at 9 pm so you don't have to worry about noise when going to sleep. Short walk to Mr. Ed's which is a great place to dance, get drinks and eat. Only suggestion would be having more help at the desk to facilitate check in/check out and paying for concessions. read more

This place has had new owners in the last couple yrs, from what I was told. I read the previous bad reviews, but this past weekend our room was clean, and the staff was on top of everything. There is a bar in the pool area, so its loud and does not quiet down till around 9pm, and probably not a family oriented atmosphere, but this town is not known for that. When I go back, this will be the place I plan on staying again. read more

We didn't have a great experience. They have no elevator. Night one, had no air conditioning, room extremely uncomfortable. I let front desk know on Saturday AM. SAT 730PM anxious to enjoy swim up bar/hot tub. While I was changing they closed pool.I walked out to check if it closed & door closed. locked out of room. Went to get a card key to get back in. Front desk Axle GAVE us a set of KEYS. I inserted & turned & it broke with no pressure at all. Went immediately back to front desk to be told it wasn't a room key but GOLF cart keys!!!! Then we were given new card key and we got in room. Shortly later Axle at room door confronts me & calls me stupid for not knowing that key didn't go to my room & why is my card declining? Earlier in day I'd lost my card on island and had to cancel it. they were trying to automatically charge my credit card $300!! For the broken key! They forced us to remove 300 in cash were rude, intimidating & THEY were the ones who gave us a golf cart keys! Furthermore, we didn't even have a cart. 2 bouncers & 2 men running front desk. One named Axle with curly hair surrounded me. Btw I'm 5'2" disabled lady. I was afraid all night. In AM he was still working. Glaring at us. I asked to see mgr. none on duty. Finally met owner who said it's end of season. They don't normally act that way. No acknowledgment of how much they scared us, intimidated us and they refused to credit us. We left hotel and island a day early. This experience ruined our visit to the Island. Crappy hotel and staff. Bullies! Watch your charges on your card!!!!! read more

Worst experience ever. Dirty room/bathroom--there was a used coffee filter still in the coffee pot. On top of that coolers were not allowed- even to hold just water. We were told we could leave it in a room in the lobby that was "supervised". Strange considering our cooler was gone when we went to retrieve it. Windows do not open for any sort of air circulation. Beds are small and not comfortable. We asked for towels for our second night they were never delivered. We had to track down housekeeping staff and were handed towels that looked like someone had changed their oil with them. We've stayed at other hotels on the island and have never had such an awful experience. read more

Shame on you Mr. Tim Niese (Owner) For the sake of brevity, do not stay at this "resort." I don't know how it could be called a resort anyway. There were stained sheets and carpets. Bugs in spider webs. Mold on the shower curtain, a broken chair on the porch and the "resort pool" everyone was swimming in had a pump that did not work, the management was notified and the manager responded, "I should have closed it but I didn't." They then used a skimmer to skim out debris in the pool. I spent over $200.00 for one night and would have rather slept in my car. I have slept in way cleaner motels for 1/4th the amount of money. We are staying here now and when you pay 400 dollars a night for a room they should be clean. hallways smell like mold rooms are not very clean and pools are very dirty they need to be vacuumed and shocked. This is our first trip here and next visit we will definitely not be staying at this location. read more

I've been going to Put In Bay for many years. Visited a few weeks ago. Stayed at the Islander. Such a disgusting place! When entering our room it was so dirty. The tub and toilet were not cleaned from previous guest. The only thing done was the beds were made. The floor was filthy, carpet was dirty, hadn't been vacuumed. There was a pair of men's underwear in the hallway right outside our room. It sat there the entire weekend. So disgusting. The door from outside which was at the bottom of our stairs was left unlocked all day and night. Our key card wasn't needed to enter. There were random people in and out all night. No security anywhere. We ask for clean towels, never provided. We ask about the door and our safety, no response. I called a few days after getting home. Talked to a manger Annette. She said she'd talk to the owner. Never called me back. The owner is Tim Niece. After two weeks of no response I finally caught her and she said " he won't do anything" So spend your $300 a night ANYWHERE else. All they care about is collecting your money obviously not a good reputation! read more

Do not stay at this hotel. They do not honor their cancellation policy. I canceled my reservation prior to the 14 day before stay requirement. They never refunded my credit card. I called many times and got a different answer each time. 5he manager was never there and didn't return my phone calls. This is unethical. Do Not Stay at this hotel. Avoid this place! It's a expensive roach motel! When we checked into our room we noticed it didn't look vacuumed. The next morning after putting my feet on the ground I noticed ants crawling all over my foot and flip flop. After further inspection of the blue carpet we noticed hundreds of ants. The front desk said they couldn't move us into a room that had the same "amenities" as ours but they would send housekeeping in to clean and spray. We came back a few hours later and our floor didn't look much cleaner but the ants seemed to be gone. Found more ants the next day which we assumed would happen. Thankfully housekeeping left the ant spray in our room. Two days after I checked out of this place I needed to have my home sprayed for bed bugs. On top of the bug problem we had to ask for clean towels several time a day before we got them. The ice machine was always out of order and the staff was kind of snippy. read more

BEWARE!!!! My friends and I stayed at The Islander Inn in August. Despite the rude customer service upon arrival and absolutely disgusting room conditions, which included a broken shower that flooded the bathroom and having to leave the room for over an hour to get fixed, we were not refunded our $200 deposit. After three attempts to find out why, I was finally able to speak with a manager. The manager informed me that the housekeeper reported vomit on the sheets and towels. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt this was not true!! I'm beyond frustrated that I can not prove it and had to choke up the $200. My friends and I will NEVER stay here again! read more

My favorite spot to say when I come to Put-In-Bay! Your close walking distance to all the main spots on the Island! The amenities are the best! The pools are the best! Great place to stay at on the Island! Awesome amenities with multiple pools, A Pirate Ship! Lazy River, Putting Green, and huge hot tub. The Live Music during the weekend days at the swim up pool bar is always a blast! Rooms are well kept and clean. Staff is well mannered and accommodating and the location is just a short walking distance to the harbor. Definitely looking forward to many more trips this summer! read more

I want to give this place 0 stars because our stay this past weekend was HORRIBLE! THEY HAVE BED BUGS! Stay away from booking with this place unless you wanna check into a hotel that is disgusting. They are making a killing charging so much for weekend rates and I'm not to sure they put any toward cleaning any of their facility. Pool looks gross including the water. We checked into a room found bedbugs got placed in another room upgraded that was just as filthy. Wouldn't advise anyone to stay here, you won't be getting your money's worth. My wife and I stayed at the Islander Inn for our anniversary; we had a great time on the island, but this hotel was lackluster. It was just before "Christmas in July"; we got the room at a discount (likely because they realized how crowded and noisy it would be). Once we got settled into the room before bed, we realized that the sheets were messy (seemed to have fecal matter on them), and when we asked to have them replaced we were told that they were too short-staffed to take care of the problem immediately. Once they arrived, we went through a series of attempts by staff to find the correct size of sheets, after which we were informed that they didn't actually have queen-sized fitted sheets. In order to not sleep directly on the mattress (ick!) I had to rig several regular sheets around the mattress. This trip was our honeymoon and we brought family with us from Alabama. The Hotels website really sells a total resort experience, IT'S NOT! Upon arrival we walked into the lobby to check in and the manager was very rude. We were given our room keys and walked to our rooms. While passing the pools we noticed that it seemed very empty. Our rooms were absolutley disgusting. Our room was filled with spider webs, no towels, and a very musty moldy smell. Our family members room was even worse, the toilet had not been cleaned in quite some time, spider webs, the same smell, no refrigerator, the door was so off that you had to throw your body into it just for it to open. We went out for the day and wanted to come back to enjoy the pools, THAT WAS A JOKE!!! The pools were freezing cold, dirty and the swim up bars were closed. We stayed from Sunday through Tuesday July 9-11, 2017. The swim up bars never opened. We asked how to turn on the 30 person hot tub, we were told that the hot tub had an electrical fire and no longer would be of use. We wanted to rent a 6 person golf cart due to the rain and the front desk said they had none. We had come to find out that at the main hotel they had plenty, the staff at our hotel did not want to walk over and get one for us. This hotel is not the best place to stay! If I could give this ZERO stars, I would! This hotel is disgusting! My husband and I had our wedding on PIB and stayed at this hotel. We bought two rooms -one for us and one for my parents. My parents room had ants and the door was broken, so they couldn't lock their hotel door. Our room was described as a "King-sized Jacuzzi suite"! Ha! We have a King size bed and this was NOT! Also, only ONE outlet worked in our room. Our TV was from the early 1900's -of which we never did find the remote to. Our room smelled of stale water and moth-balls. With it being our wedding weekend, it was very important to stay in contact with our friends, family and guests. However, neither of us had cell phone reception in the room. So, our guests would call our hotel room with no success. So, they then called the front desk to call the hotel room, but, SURPRISE- no answer either! Hmmmm, well, we found out too late that our hotel room phone was broke!!! The owner, Tim Niese, own many businesses on the island, including T&J Smokehouse, Splash Bar, Level 2, and the Niagara event center! With that said, he has the money to make this place a REAL "resort", as it says in the name. It's really sad that he chooses to let it get so gross and still charge the "resort" prices. This hotel is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at in my entire life! Please DO NOT STAY HERE! Right next door is Harriet House-this family owned hotel is kept clean and cozy for all their guests! They take great pride in their business and it shows! I would recommend staying there or at one of the cute Bed and Breakfast's! read more

I had a horrible experience the first time I stayed at The Islander but I gave it another shot based on location. Our stay there made for a disgusting and ridiculously expensive trip. First and foremost, the cost of the rooms...We were charged a $200 hold for each of the 3 rooms we had, plus an extra person fee plus a rollaway bed fee, plus the resort tax on the room. I stayed in Hawaii this year for far cheaper than the Islander. Second, the cleanliness...there was a bag of Cheetos on our floor when we first walked in. There was mold on both the bathroom wall and ALL over the shower curtain and the carpet was wet. Complaining to the front desk got us nowhere. One of the days we were there we had no working shower and a plumber in the bathroom all afternoon so we couldn't even use the toilet. Lastly, the $200 hold they put on each room for damages? Ya we didn't get that back. We've since contacted the resort several times about that fee (which they told us would be released within 72 hours) and no one would get back to us. I highly recommend staying elsewhere. This place is a dump. read more
