Robert was extremely flexible and helpful and did everything he could to ensure my husband and I got married. We had originally planned to get married on August 8th during sunrise at Makapu'u beach, and I was supposed to bring my family, but Hawaii's mandatory 14 day quarantine was extended! Robert promptly emailed me and let me know about the extension and was willing to help me if I wanted to push back our wedding. I said no, that I wanted to continue woth our planned date but my family would no longer be there with me and I would have to quarantine for 2 weeks. All was going to plan until 2 DAYS before we were supposed to get married the governor of Hawaii announced that all beaches were to close at midnight on Friday (we were supposed to be married Saturday morning). I emailed Robert around 10pm frantically asking what we could do. I was sobbing because it felt like all the odds were stacked against us getting married. Thankfully Robert got back to me early in the morning stating that we could move the wedding up to that day and that he already contacted the photographer and that she was able to make it as well. He offered a new time and a new location since Makapu'u was mostly ideal for the sunrise and now we would be married at sunset. He said we could keep our old location if we wanted but I went along with his suggestion and I am SO GLAD I did. We ended up getting married on August 7th at Sandy beach at sunset and it was so incredibly beautiful. They arrived earlier than us and picked out a nice secluded spot for our ceremony. During the ceremony, I started to tear up and Robert was prepared with tissues for me. Afterwards he helped us fill out our paperwork and explained how he would submit everything online THAT NIGHT so that we could get our marriage certificate as fast as possible, since I told him we needed our certificate for paperwork we needed to complete with the military while I was still on island. The photographer, Michelle, made us feel comfortable and did all she could to get the perfect shot. She was literally climbing in the bushes and balancing over the rocks to get the best angles! It was worth it because they turned out amazing and I am soooo happy with how they look. Overall, I would 10000% reccomend Islander Weddings to anyone looking to get married on O'ahu. read more

Islander Weddings did an absolutely fabulous job with our wedding! The bouquet I purchased through them was beautiful as were the leis. I also added a heart of rose petals in the sand for the 2 of us to stand in which turned out very nice. The photographer who was hired for our ceremony - Jolene Kaneshige - did an outstanding job and was very easy to work with (I attached a couple of her photos from the ceremony). Robert personalized the ceremony as requested and it was exactly what we were hoping for. The ukelele player, who's name I cannot remember, played a song at the start and the end of the ceremony and he was very talented - everyone enjoyed this part of the ceremony! Robert responded immediately and also took the time for a long phone call to discuss our wishes and ideas. It's been about a month since we used Islander Weddings for our 25th Wedding Anniversary vow renewal. Robert was very easy to get a hold of, whether by phone or email. When I first talked to him, we agreed on Secret Beach at Ko'olina because that would have been a nice location for a sunset ceremony. However, about two months before the event, Robert informed me that Secret Beach was no longer accessible due to construction. He suggested several places close to Waikiki since we were staying there. I really wanted a place where there weren't a lot of tourists, so then he suggested Papa'iola Beach on the North Shore. It turned out to be the perfect location; the beach was practically empty and the sunset was amazing. The ceremony was lovely: Robert's speech was so nice and heartwarming, we renewed our vows, and his wife, Naomi, played the ukulele and sang a couple of Hawaiian songs. She was wonderful - such a beautiful voice! There was a tiny hiccup with the photographer - the original photographer was unable to do it but thankfully another photographer filled in. We received our pictures on a CD about two weeks later and they all came out great. Thank you, Robert & Naomi, for such a memorable ceremony! read more

I chose Islander Weddings to perform my destination wedding ceremony in Ewa Beach, HI. I planned this wedding from NV only a few months in advance and Robert and Naomi took care of everything and kept everything stress-free. Robert and Naomi were very prompt and courteous in all of our communication prior to the wedding and in the days before the wedding, they continued to keep me updated about everything. They assisted my with preparing our marriage license and even recommended excellent hair and makeup and cake design services. I even requested videographer service less than 2 weeks before our wedding and they provided me with an excellent videographer. I even changed the time of the wedding once we arrived in Hawaii because I was concerned about the sunset time and they still accommodated me. On the day of the wedding, Robert, Naomi, the videographer and the photographer all arrived to my private beach rental very early and we discussed everything and our requests.
