The Maile Lei smelled amazing. Danny played the music during the ceremony, then sang to us afterward, while we shared our first dance as a married couple on the beach. Suzi, the photographer is a ball of sunshine! We just received our photos, and she captured every special moment of the ceremony. Our little wedding on the beach could not have been more perfect with the gentle ukulele playing and Kawena's beautiful voice and meaningful and powerful words, incorporating melodious Hawaiian chants and vows. Kawena and her team did an amazing job on our wedding day. They really went above and beyond. We live in Los Angeles and had a destination wedding ceremony at Moli'i Gardens (Kualoa Ranch) on Oahu. My wife found her while requesting quotes from other wedding planners on Yelp and after Kawena got involved everything came together. Her prices fit our budget and communication throughout the whole process was always good. On the day of our outdoor ceremony, it rained so we had to do a lot of last-minute adjustments but it all worked out. Kawena married us at the Kahala Resort and it was the most dreamy experience! We had a small intimate wedding and we wanted everything to be relaxed and natural. Kawena would kindly reach out periodically, and especially the month of our wedding, to ensure we were covering all the bases to move forward in the planning process and helped answer all my questions and listened to and address all my concerns (I honestly had a lot, as I have never planned something so big in my lifetime!), But she considered our vision and all the details in order to make it happen. Her team she works with is absolutely terrific as well and she gave me the BEST recommendations and referrals for so many of our vendor/resource needs, even a few that had to be taken care of last minute, that she somehow worked some magic to get the coverage for the ones we needed! The day before the wedding, I made the decision to let go of the makeup artist I found online that we booked, as that makeup artist's service, attitude and quality was not acceptable to what I hoped for--I spoke with Kawena on this concern with just 24 hours notice, and she helped me immediately find a new one the evening before our big day who was absolutely AMAZING and my whole bridal party was blown away by that makeup artist that Kawena connected us with in such short notice! She also connected us with a very wonderful officiant/kahu after our friend who was going to do the honors had to decline fairly last minute as well due to personal matters, but the officiant recommendation she provided was absolutely incredible and just what we hoped for!
