Kahu Pomaika'i and her son blessing the leis for our wedding ceremony at Waimanalo Beach
    Mei Li A.

I was born in Hawai'i, but have lived most of my adult life on the mainland. When I got engaged I just knew that I must return home to Oahu to get married in a place surrounded by "aloha spirit." After a lengthy internet search for a Kahu, I added those two keys words into my browser search and voila, I found Aloha Hawaiian Blessings. Once I spoke with Kahu Pomaika'i and heard her description of the ceremony and shared some stories with her I knew she would be the perfect. I scheduled our big day for 12.27.12 on Waimanalo Beach at 4pm. The ceremony was everything I had hoped for in a traditional Hawaiian wedding. Our favorite parts were: (1) her deep appreciation of Hawaiian values and how she incorporated it into the ceremony, (2) The Ho'oponopono blessing that helped us feel that we could let go of past baggage and focus on the present (we can all use a little of this!) I had a big internal debate with myself about which beach to get married on. I had lived in Kahala before I moved from Hawaii and thought maybe Waialae Beach. But, I have to say you almost need to visit the beaches to get a feeling of them. Or follow the recommendation of Kahu Pomaika'i. We ultimately chose Waimanalo even though it is was a 40-45 minute drive from Waikiki. When we arrived in the limo and my brother said, "oh, I remember this beach with the forest . we came here when we were kids" I smiled. And when I cast off my Jimmy Choo's and stepped into the soft, pristine Waimanalo sand, I knew we had chosen the right beach. Our reception dinner was at the Royal Hawaiian and we made it to Azure just before the beautiful Waikiki sun had set. We also used a few wedding professionals from her wedding links page. Kahu Lawrence Keaolani Pau played ukulele before and after our ceremony for us. A very, lovely addition! He learned a song on the ukelele just for us and played a special request for my husband. Originally, I wasn't going to have a photographer, but we decided since a lot of family on the mainland couldn't make it we would document it with pictures. We used the professional services of Hokuli'i Images - Geralyn (aka Da photo chick)! She did a wonderful job of capturing the feeling of our beach wedding. I am so thrilled to have my photos that take me back to that day. Everyone who helped make our ceremony possible, did an amazing job! We will always remember our magical Hawaiian, beach wedding.

I cried the first time I met Kahu Pomaika'i.... The short version of why this woman is so wonderful, and why you owe it to yourself to just speak to her should you be considering a wedding in Hawai'i: 1) She is truly a loving and spiritual person, connected to the islands, and respectful of all that makes up the world. 2) She will discuss at length with you the ideas/style of her Hawaiian ceremonies, and tailor them to your specific needs (religious, spiritual, etc.) to create the most perfect and memorable ceremony you could ever imagine. 3) The love she brings to your ceremony is true and heart-felt, and will touch you, your family, and your guests both during and after your ceremony. The long version of how we came to know Kahu Pomaika'i and why our ceremony was so amazing: Our wedding coordinator found Kahu Pomaika'i and sent us her contact information. The minute I read her website descriptions, I knew I wanted to meet her. We met three days before our wedding date to discuss the ceremony, as well as to give her some background on the both of us. After she finished telling us about what she was planning to use/say during the ceremony, I was in tears. It was like she had read my mind on what I wanted for my wedding my entire life. On the day of our wedding, Kahu Pomaika'i took me through a grounding exercise for me to release my tension, she blessed our leis as well as the land, and conducted our ceremony with such grace and poise, yet filled with so much love, that I was crying throughout the entire ceremony. Kahu Pomaika'i's message to us touched all of our guests, and they could not stop talking about the things that she said, and the effect it had on them. My father, a non-native speaker of English, said that her message was so meaningful, and also so easy to understand even for him. Her delivery was flawless, the things she brought to the ceremony priceless. When speaking to Kahu Pomaika'i, I truly felt that the Akua had brought us together for a specific reason. After our ceremony, talking to Kahu Pomaika'i, it was as if we were talking to someone we had known for years. She truly is an amazing woman, and I cannot put into words how grateful we are to her for giving us such an amazing gift...a wedding ceremony that we will remember forever. If you are considering a ceremony in Hawai'i, please do yourself a favor and just meet Kahu Pomaika'i. If anything, you will walk away with an understanding of her, the islands of Hawai'i, and the true meaning of "aloha."

Semi-elopement destination wedding on the beach! My husband and I were married May 2014 on the beach near Ko Olina. We were so happy with our choice of wedding officiant. Kahu Pomaika'i was helpful, patient and most of all, so kind to us and our family. Planning my wedding from nearly 5,000 miles and 6 time zones away could have been difficult, but Renee was very flexible with her availability over the phone and walked us through each step of the process. We chose her "Royal Ilima" Hawaiian wedding package with a Pu (conch) blower - who was also her son - and a ukelele musician. We only first met in person at the ceremony, she set up everything on the beach and the whole wedding went very smoothly! The traditional Hawaiian ceremony was so beautiful; our parents were there with us, and we all felt very blessed to have Kahu Pomaika'i perform our wedding. We hope to be back for an anniversary - perhaps a vow renewal will be in the future for us. I highly recommend Kahu Pomaika'i!

When I was searching for an officiant for my destination wedding I knew I wanted a traditional hawaiian wedding and a spiritually based officiant. When I found Kahu Pomaikai and read her bio I knew she was the one. After we spoke on the phone, It just confirmed my feelings that she would be perfect for our day. Kahu Pomaikai was my officiant for my wedding in June 19,2019 at Paliku Gardens. She was amazing she has such a loving and kind spirit. I had so many compliments from my guests regarding our ceremony. I had guests tell me that it was the first time they actually listened and were intrigued by the speech at a wedding ceremony! My guests also told me that they could feel all the positive loving energy radiating from her during the ceremony. My ceremony was my favorite part of my wedding and could not have been anymore perfect.

I can honestly say that the weddings that Lauren and L-4-Love has done were so smooth down to the minute detail. From way back even before I had a boyfriend, I would always tell Lauren that if I ever got married she HAD to do my wedding. Fast forward years later, I was so blessed to have her move around her personal life schedule to be able to make my dream come true. We did the 2 month out package. From the very beginning, her organized preferred vendor list with links and explanations helped me to pick out and get all my first choice vendors. She is so knowledgeable with all her experience and had so many useful and great recommendations. When we reached the 2 month out mark, she jumped in and it was such a huge relief. There were lots of little things on my invoices that were incorrect or missing that I didn't see. She communicates to the vendors and you don't have to worry about anything. One of the best things is her down to the minute organized, constantly updated timeline and set up list. She even makes separate ones for the emcees and wedding party and communicates with them. We had lots of last minute guest drop outs/additions and she was so great at helping us keep an organized guest list by name and by table. (I am horrible with excel and making those things). She was always so on top of it with everything. She always made us feel at ease by checking in, keeping us on track, and quickly answering tons of emails and helping with all of our questions and concerns along the way. The entire wedding day was an amazing whirlwind. But it went so smoothly and we didn't have to worry about anything except enjoying every minute. Definitely the best day of our lives and without Lauren and her amazing team it wouldn't have been the same. Then she has her "name changing packet" for after which has been the biggest lifesaver. Also what makes Lauren so great is that she treats you like family and really cares about each couple (not just doing a job with clients). She's worth every penny to make your wedding day flawless, stress free and bring your visions beautifully to life!

As someone who is extremely anxious, I appreciate Lauren's promptness at responding to emails. Most of the time, she would respond back the same day I send out an email! The relief and reassurance she provided me that we were on the right track to getting things done really calmed my nerves down, and I am forever grateful for her for that. Lauren also provided a very thorough timeline for the wedding day, which we went over multiple times to ensure that nothing was missed and everything/everyone was accounted for. Since our wedding was at two locations (one location for the ceremony and another location for the reception), a strict timeline was necessary. On the day of, she took care of EVERYTHING. I had no worries in the world, which NEVER happens. This was all thanks to her and her team. I can't recommend them enough. Thank you again for being a part of our special day!

Front start to finish, it was the most amazing experience. The coordination was flawless and the service was top notch. We didn't get to meet our officiant Ellsworth until the day. The photographer and videographer made us feel so comfortable! The flowers were fresh and made beautifully. The hula dancer was gorgeous and the musician was wonderful. My hair and make up artist understood the assignment and they both made me look flawless! Our photographer Carson took over 200 photos and made us feel so special! Our highlight video and ceremony video were awesome. I recommend this company to anyone who wants to get married in Hawaii as they have the wedding planning down to a science. Our videographer was friendly, open to my ideas, and willing to try different shots I had seen on social media. I never felt like my ideas were silly or that I was being difficult. He was also honest with his feedback and willing to redo moments to get the shot right. The video beautifully captured our ceremony, guests, emotions, and little moments that made our wedding special. Watching it made me emotional in a good way because it felt like our story was being told. What makes the photography even more frustrating is that we didn't pay extra to choose our videographer, yet the video was one of the best parts of our experience. Meanwhile, we paid $700 to choose our photographer, and the photography was one of the most disappointing parts. Our day-of coordinator was also kind, supportive, encouraging, and helpful with managing our time and photo/video ideas. Overall, I'm grateful for our beautiful video and our wonderful coordinator. Unfortunately, the photography and communication issues took away from the experience. These are memories we can never recreate, and I just wish our photos had captured the people, emotions, and story of our wedding the way our video did.

To begin, I must express my disappointment with Robert's services. While he is a well-intentioned…read moreindividual, we entrusted him with booking the second most expensive wedding package for my wife's dream wedding. Upon reviewing the reviews, we were initially impressed. The photographs on the website were visually stunning. However, we discovered that the photographer we had hired was subpar. Regrettably, none of our photographs matched the website's images. Instead, he captured candid moments of individuals not smiling, which were subsequently sent to us. It is important to note that the website typically promises 100 photographs or more. However, upon reviewing the actual photographs, we found that only a fraction of the promised images were delivered. Notably, three identical photographs were sent, all of which depicted individuals without smiles. Despite these issues, Robert attempted to rectify the situation by offering my wife and me an additional photo shoot after the wedding. However, it was impossible to retrieve the day of the wedding itself, which was the most disheartening aspect of the entire experience. In contrast, my daughter's iPhone photographs were significantly superior to those taken by Robert's photographer. In my opinion, if I had opted for the more economical wedding package offered by Robert, utilizing his own phone or camera for photography, the results might have been superior. My primary concern was the limousine, as we selected a venue that was slightly farther away, necessitating a higher cost for the limousine due to the extended travel time to the wedding site. Consequently, if you choose to have your wedding on Sandy Beach, you will incur an additional fee for the limousine. Unfortunately, my wife forgot the rings and had to return to retrieve them. The entire process, including the wedding photoshoot and the return trip for the rings, took approximately 2.5 hours. In contrast, a standard wedding at a closer beach typically takes two hours. Therefore, I believe our ceremony was shortened due to the increased travel time to Sandy Beach. Regarding the ukulele music and the written songs, it appears that the songs we requested were not played. The music was being played when my wife was walking up the aisle and paused for the ceremony. While I do not believe it was a complete song, I understand that this was my wife's dream. Wedding expenses were not a concern for me, as I was determined to make this the most memorable experience for my wife. Regarding the limousine, it was not provided with any water, not even a bottle of champagne. I questioned Robert about this after the event, and he explained that due to instances of excessive alcohol consumption in the limousine, the vehicle had been damaged. I find it difficult to comprehend how someone could become intoxicated from a single bottle of champagne, especially considering that I had rented a limousine for my own wedding. This limousine was used to transport us to dinner, drop us off, and then pick us up again. It was equipped with a bottle of champagne for the journey to the venue and another bottle for the return trip. Additionally, the limousine had ample bottled water available. The limousine service, which Robert recommended, failed to provide any additional amenities beyond the standard fare. Despite the extra time charged for the extended duration, Robert has yet to contact me regarding the additional hour. While I had paid for the limousine, the photography quality was subpar. The photographs failed to capture the memorable moments of our special day, and my wife's dream of having beautiful pictures to display in our home remains unfulfilled. Robert has expressed his intention to rectify the situation, acknowledging the potential loss of 30% of his business due to negative reviews. However, I find it difficult to believe that a single negative review can justify such a drastic response. While I am not here to criticize others' choices, my primary concern is the irreplaceable moment we lost due to the poor photography. The photographs were indeed of poor quality, and I have shared three of them with you for your reference. If you are considering using Robert's services, I recommend seeking alternative photographers, preferably female, to ensure that the photographs reflect the quality of your wedding experience. While Robert is a kind and professional individual, the lack of professional photography at a reasonable price is a significant concern. In conclusion, despite the positive aspects of my wife's marriage, the poor quality of the photographs has overshadowed the overall experience. The absence of memorable images, except for a few taken by my daughter, has made it difficult to showcase the beauty of our wedding day. One last thing I don't know who all the other people are in reviews, but we did not get any beautiful pics like the website shows

While Jayvee was very helpful during the initial planning stages, a scheduling conflict arose two weeks before our wedding, and we were handed off to Leah. Despite the short notice, Leah took over and was incredibly thorough. We scheduled multiple meetings in those final weeks to ensure she knew our vision inside and out. She immediately began checking in with our vendors to ensure everything was on track. Since we were planning from Canada (not sure why our profile says SF) and had never seen our venue, we did a walkthrough with Leah and Monique once we arrived. By the time we hit the rehearsal the day before, they knew our plans well and were identifying small details we hadn't even thought of. The real "kicker" happened the morning of the wedding: the island and our venue flash flooded, and we were forced to call off the day after hair and makeup were just wrapping up at 8AM. In what would have been a breaking point for most couples, Leah, Monique, and Jayvee were our rocks. They helped calm us down and worked tirelessly with our vendors to reschedule everything. We let them know our venue preferences (no ballrooms or conference rooms, we're in Hawaii!) and they assured us that we would be able to plan something for the next day. In less than 24 hours, they helped us plan an entirely new wedding despite unknowns about the weather. Within hours, they secured a brand-new venue, negotiated the rental of a tent left over from a previous event, coordinated with all vendors to rearrange arrival times and logistics, adjusted floor plans, and rental counts due to a shift in guest attendance, and so much more that we probably don't even know. While the total change in venue and timeline led to some unavoidable delays, we saw Leah and Monique working incredibly hard to pivot and make the day beautiful. They "married" our original vision with these new, emergency arrangements as perfectly as possible. It was also the nicest day we had experienced on the island since landing several days before, a huge blessing. Once we finally made it down the aisle, they kept us on schedule and completely stress-free. Because of them, we were able to actually soak in and enjoy our wedding day, even though everything felt brand new. Having Leah and Monique by our side was a true blessing, we cannot recommend them enough for their expertise, heart, and ability to perform under pressure. Leah, Monique, and Jayvee - we love you!

On the big day, they brought that vision to life flawlessly. I didn't have to worry about a thing. They handled everything with calm professionalism and kindness. One moment I'll never forget was when I realized I had forgotten my veil, and the venue was ready to start the ceremony without it. Even after I expressed that I really wanted to wait, they pushed to begin on time. I was feeling pretty heartbroken at the thought of walking down the aisle without something that felt so special to me. Jayvee stepped in and advocated for me without hesitation -she firmly and graciously pushed back multiple times, insisting that we wait. Thanks to her, we delayed the ceremony about 20 minutes until the veil arrived, and I got to walk down the aisle with my veil! I'm forever grateful for that moment. We also had a transportation issue less than a month before the wedding when the shuttle company we had originally booked suddenly bailed on us. It was a stressful moment, but Cherished stepped in immediately, found a reliable replacement, and handled all the coordination. The entire day flowed beautifully, from ceremony to reception, and I received so many compliments from our guests about how stunning and seamless everything felt. We made a decision before the end of the week, as we felt the involvement of ABC and their ability to both help design and contact vendors on our behalf with us being so busy would be helpful (and it really was!). In late 2023, we had calls with around ten wedding planners/coordinators and out of all those great choices, we had our heart set on Amanda. Right off the bat, she was SO easy to talk to and made me feel so comfortable. I've heard of many "wedding planner horror stories" and I felt so comfortable during our consultation call to voice my concerns/worries. She described her own process to me and what I should expect which reassured me that this wasn't going to be the case with her. Amanda was the head/sole planner throughout the entire process compared to other places starting off with one planner and then midway getting assigned another planner that would be taking over for the rest which also reassured me that details, big and small, wouldn't be lost along the way. We knew she'd be a perfect fit for us. The planning process included little to no stress because of her! She is very knowledgeable about vendors, our venue's layout and needs, rules, etc. Of course she was extremely helpful in narrowing down our vendor choices (we had an all-star vendor team), but she also took a lot of the stress away thinking about all the logistics and small details I wouldn't have even thought about it if I was trying to do this on my own! She also was respectful of our budget even though my husband and I decided to go over lol, but even though we were over she still suggested different ways to save which all worked out in our favor. Her other strengths are her creativity and design taste. Even when we couldn't envision it, she would and we trusted her fully. There was a reason I was drawn to her after looking at her website and Instagram. There were times throughout the process where I'd get stressed since I am a worry wart, but she always reassured me that everything will work out and that we actually do have enough time. Our check-in calls always felt like talking to a good friend, while still being professional. I loved that about her! Wedding week came and Amanda was able to help us plan our welcome party. She came early to help set up and ensure our rentals came on time and I had everything that I needed. It was a huge success! We wrapped up a couple small details and again, she took care of it all so that we could relax a little. As for the big day... that day was literally a DREAM. I was mentally preparing myself for any possible mishaps to occur like they usually do, but there wasn't even any mishaps that we noticed! We were just a tad bit behind on our timeline and a lot more of our guests ended up taking our transportation than we had accounted for, but they adapted quickly and took care of everything for us. That's how much Amanda and her team were on it right away, so much so, that day went flawless to us. Were so in awe with how beautiful everything turned out. They always made sure we also ate, had drinks in our hand, hydrated, and even sat and fanned the flies away from our food while we continued to take pictures (s/o to the Bellas x2). 4 months later and our guests are still talking about how beautiful our day was and we seriously cannot thank Amanda and her Savvy team enough for everything as they executed our dream wedding. We look back at our all photos and we're sad that we just want to keep reliving the day over and over. Thank you for an amazing day we will never ever forget!

Got in contact with Anthony and he was so accommodating and understanding. We really wanted marquee letters that spell out "ROL 30" to add to the environment and it really delivered. See the attached photo for reference (my iPhone does this weird thing with LED lights but all the light bulbs were working in real life. It looked so good at our check-in area. We ended up moving it closer to the lanai area so people could use it as a photo op. Pick and up drop off was super easy and the staff was chill. Lena Teboul is the definition of exceptional. She is thorough, thoughtful, and resourceful. Her eye…read morefor style and use of design inspiration are excellent. And, her connections and understanding of people are well-suited for her profession. Without a doubt though, her standout strengths are her tenacity, assertiveness, and client-oriented advocacy. We hired Moana Belle and started planning an elaborate destination wedding nine months before the COVID-19 crisis. We selected a place with special meaning to us, and proceeded to invest time and money as we worked with Lena to carefully curate a once-in-a-lifetime experience for 64 of our friends and family. Throughout that time, Lena and Moana Belle were great. They understood our style and priorities. Their planning and personalized recommendations demonstrated a spot-on understanding of us, our venue, and of tasteful design. Their coordination with our venue and vendors was seamless. Their communication was well-balanced and organized. And as I later learned, Lena frequently went to bat for us behind the scenes. As we and our guests packed our bags and began traveling half-way around the world, uncertainty percolated surrounding COVID-19. Lena helped us promptly consult with our venues, vendors, and guests, and to seek counsel from government authorities. It was the worst possible timing. Just one day later, and things would've likely been entirely different. After us and most of our guests arrived in Hawaii, and after nine months of painstaking planning, panic began to grip the nation. Against a backdrop that shifted by the minute, we were forced to make impossible decisions. But Lena was there for us every second. She stood by our side as vendors and venues were all over the board; their decision-making ran the gamut from thoughtful and interactive to frantic and opaque--often changing by the hour. An event we had all spent months meticulously planning was entirely upended. And a significant sum of money was at risk of being completely lost. On the fly, Lena helped us plan an entirely new wedding--only to plan another one or two after that. I like to equate her work as that of a chess master crushing a game while the chessboard constantly moved and the pieces simultaneously transformed. She poured every ounce of herself into saving our wedding. Her ingenuity and perseverance were beyond remarkable. In the end, our wedding was more beautiful and more meaningful than we could have possibly imagined. We will forever be in her debt.

We basically had 2 venues and they pulled it off seamlessly. Ceremony was by the lagoon and reception was under the stars , tented in a field at the base of these spectacular mountains.. We were so happy with their vendors from the catering to the decor , everything was top notch quality. They also have so much experience and knowledge we felt so confident. Worth every penny ...in my daughters words " it was her perfect dream wedding !" We are forever grateful to you Moana Events !!

She does not jump around the bush, she will tell you her opinions. The entire team at F&K are very responsive at keeping you informed. The day of our wedding was very smooth sailing. I love the details that Henry and Midori pay close attention to. Tessa's assistant, Ashley, who I met the day of my wedding was exceptional. She was very calm, extremely helpful, organized, and such a sweetheart. I wish I had met Ashley sooner during the planning phase because she is someone that could be your friend! Our evening was so fun, and we are so grateful that F&K could be a part of our day.

We chose their full-service package as this package included sourcing vendors for us, but hiring them turned out to be the biggest mistake of our wedding. 1. Subpar vendor sourcing The vendor recommendations were completely misaligned with our vibe and significantly overpriced. They provided only a single option per category with zero room for comparison. We ended up having to research, vet, and book almost all the other vendors ourselves to get the vibe we wanted at a much more affordable price point. 2. Day-of logistics & communication failure Despite asking for our bus driver's contact details in advance, the team did not coordinate with him. Our driver had to repeatedly call us directly on our wedding day while we were trying to get ready and enjoy the moment. When we brought this up to the team, the excuse given was simply, "Oh yeah, we have never worked with him before." As professional planners, coordinating with new vendors is the bare minimum expectation. 3. Rude and unprofessional attitude on the day A wedding planner should keep the atmosphere calm and positive. Instead, Tessa created unnecessary stress and hostility: a. Disrespectful to Our Officiant: Our officiant, a close friend who walked us through marriage preparation and flew all the way to Hawaii, politely asked Tessa a logistical question and was bluntly told, "Now is not the time to be asking these questions." Right before our march-in, she was openly talking rudely about him in front of our entire bridal party, killing the excitement and making everyone feel uncomfortable. b. Aggressive tone with groomsmen: During the groomsmen photoshoot, she snapped at one of the groomsmen for chewing gum, aggressively telling him: "Is that gum? You either spit it out or you swallow it." 4. Zero Accountability We hesitated to write a public review and reached out privately via email first to share our experience. Their response did not include a single apology or acknowledgment of their shortcomings. Every single external vendor we sourced and hired on our own was fantastic, but Fred and Kate Events consistently added tension, failed on coordination, and treated our closest friends and family with disrespect. Would totally look elsewhere for wedding coordination.
