I was able to watch the gentleman who helped me weigh what I brought in, he showed me the entire calculation of what they were offering, including the rates. This was refreshing as some other store hid their scales and were shady about the numbers they relayed to me. My one recommendation coming out of this is to get multiple offers for what you are selling. I'm not naming names of any competitors or anything like that in this review, you have to do your own due dillegence and drive around a bit when you sell. I'm sure there are many other factors including recent purchases, refiner's cuts, etc. for each store to consider when they make an offer. I will say that for silver, at the time of my visit, this store was not offering a competitive rate compared to every other store that I visited. This may change from time to time due to the factors I listed above (and others), but at the time of my visit, it simply was not close to market rate. I will still give the store a 5 star rating, particularly for their honesty. I'm putting it out there yet again for inexperienced sellers who are going through an estate similar to myself, take the time to GET MULTIPLE OFFERS from different stores. The final price I sold my items for was significantly higher than what I was offered here. Having said all of that, I would not hesitate to return to this store in the future. I also had to use the restroom while there and it smelled bizarrely good and was impeccably clean. Very conveniently located as well, right near eight mile in Novi. Absolutely Terrible Experience and Unacceptable Business Practices at Benson Jewelers…read more I am writing this review to express my extreme disappointment and frustration with my recent experience at Benson Diamond Jewelers located at 35000 Warren Rd, Westland MI .In side Westland Mall. I attempted to redeem a gift card that was purchased on December 31st 2024 at their store, and I was met with nothing but incompetence and a complete refusal to honor it. Despite having the original receipt as proof of purchase, the staff claimed they could not accept the gift card because they had inexplicably failed to load any value onto it. This is utterly ridiculous and a clear indication of their negligence. I presented undeniable proof that the gift card was indeed purchased, yet they offered no reasonable solution or apology for their mistake. To simply refuse to accept their own gift card due to their error is beyond unacceptable and demonstrates a complete lack of customer service. To add insult to injury, while browsing their Pandora selection, I noticed a significant markup on their prices compared to what I've seen at official Pandora stores. Items were being sold for $15 to $25 more than their standard retail price. This blatant price gouging is unethical and makes it clear that this store is taking advantage of its customers. My experience at Benson Diamond Jewelers was nothing short of a nightmare. They not only failed to honor their own gift card due to their own mistake but also appear to be significantly overcharging for popular brands. I would strongly advise anyone considering shopping here to take their business elsewhere. This store lacks integrity, provides terrible customer service, and engages in questionable pricing practices.
