I went to a jeweler in the mall they said this watch would be $600 and I went here and the guy here gave me. His honest opinion didn't try and sell me on anything. He was a really good shop owner. Where do I begin? Both men who helped me failed to introduce themselves and they appeared stand-offish as if they would rather be somewhere else, as well as the 3rd employee who sat on his phone giggling the entire time. I was looking to sell a gold chain and at first they offered me a value below Garden City Pawn, albeit not too far off for whatever that's worth. When I informed them of the amount I was given from GCP, they said they would match it but I still wasn't satisfied with the amount so I went to another shop that unfortunately low-balled me. I decided to return as they were on my way home and they suddenly told me that it wasn't 14K, instead 10K, and the amount would be "a lot less." The other 2 shop's confirmed it was 14K, so after hearing this I kept it short and sweet, went back to Garden City Pawn where Rich, who was incredibly personable, helped me and gave me the original price he had offered plus $5 extra (I know it's not much but it's the gesture) because I had joked that he should make me feel like I'm getting something out of the deal, being that the price wasn't quite what I knew I could get selling it privately. The difference between these 2 shops was remarkable. Being in sales, I would never offer a price and then tell the client that the price was actually wrong and "a lot less" at that. How unprofessional. I would give 14K Pawn 1 star if it weren't for the adorable dog they had behind the counter, at least they have that going for them. read more

Great customer service , very knowledgeable about everything I inquired about. Came in to look at rings and ended up purchasing multiple things. Usually pawn shops are trying to get over the gentleman all gave honest opinions and suggestions. Remember people laws are laws just believe the negative reviews are from people who don't know the laws and limits. read more

14k equates to roughly 58.5% Gold content. This place is nowhere near that high of a percentage when it comes to quality of product and service. Should be called 4k. Workers carry guns on their hip in the shop like we're in the middle of a revolution. Why open carry at work all day if you are also bragging about your CPL? Very big on the intimidation factor. Just Silly. They bag on other small local businesses that are trying to make a name for themselves, treat customers very cold and can not handle the everyday business transactions. read more

I'm not sure about the pawn side of this operation. But as far as their Armorist, Allen is absolutely top notch. Not gun snob that speaks down to you. He asks you poignant, helpful questions, to sort out what you're looking for. He also answers your questions just as professionally. He makes sure you're getting what you need before you leave. The gun world needs more people like Allen. I think people would be much less apprehensive about the topic of guns if more people approached the topic like Allen does. His demeanor is disarming. He just made me feel comfortable walking in. If you're in the market for every day carry, or home defense, Allen is your guy. read more

Went there to check out a cell phone that they had listed on Craigslist. I asked about 3 questions and was trying to decide if I wanted to buy it or not. (Phone looked good but I was concerned about the possibility of it having been stolen, etc and they do NOT offer any kind of a warranty). So I'm leaning on the counter just thinking and I guy at a desk, who's not the one helping me, asks if I'm going to buy it. I say, "I'm thinking about it". He says "Well you have 20 seconds to decide or it's not going to be for sale anymore. We are very busy." Now there's 3 guys working in the store and I am the ONLY customer in the whole store at this point. So I say, "Really, 20 seconds because your so busy?" He say "Yeah, 20 seconds" Just pissed me off, I left with out buying anything. Went home and bought the same cell phone on ebay for less money and that phone comes with a warranty. The Gentleman was kind, and I received a solid and fair price for my bullion. The area did not seem "Bad", I would definitely go there again. Either to buy or sell gold/silver. The store is large and there are many items for sale and @ reasonable prices. read more

I pawned my computer at 14k for approx. two years then I asked too buy a silver ring told I was getting agreat deal paid $30.00 returned a few weeks later to get a loan on it, and was offered two dollars, these guys are crooks only to get it appraised and learn it was fake. read more

I've sold or pawned quite a bit there but after dealing with a certain employee there whose constantly rude and goes out of his way to be unhelpful, I won't be returning. Their interest pricing is outrageous too. There is other pawn shops in the metro Detroit area who only charge $4 for a $100 item, this place charges $15. They also don't give u as much money for items either. Same item at this pawn shop that gave me $75, got $100 at the other shop. But the rude employee is really who got me to say "no more". There is a couple great workers there, Justin is one and the guy with glasses who does the gun sales- their both great and should be working in customer service....If your rude and not personable, don't work in a customer service environment. It's like an eskimo living in the desert, doesn't work out too well . I've never dealt with someone so rude that I've felt compelled to write a review. That's how bad it is read more
