Destructive, Do Not Hire…read more I don't like giving bad reviews, but I had to give this one. My ex-wife hired Boxx Boys to move her personal items out of my house a week ago. During the move, the team drove their moving truck onto my lawn in the rain and damaged my lawn with their truck and furniture dolly. Worse, they brought their dolly into the house and used it on my vintage hardware floors without putting anything down to protect them first. The floor is now permanently scratched in the pattern of the dolly's wheels. I'm not sure if my ex-wife has contacted them yet to file a complaint, but I thought the Yelp community should know about my experience with this company. If this company is truly better than the team they sent, I hope they'll contact me to make amends. If they do so, I will post an update here so the community can see how this company responds to negative reviews. I'm glad they did right by him. We didn't have all that many items to move, but they managed to damage a fair amount of them and damaged 2 houses. These men didn't wrap a dresser properly. I kept telling them to take the drawers out 1st to make it lighter. Consequently, the drawers kept sliding out and hitting the stairwell wall. They got the dresser jammed and put a 5"x2"x1" deep hole in the plaster wall and scraped the baseboard. They forgot to take a mirror. (I had to get that later.) We had a heavy, round, glass tabletop in our basement. I placed bubble wrap on the floor for them to roll it to the stairs. Once they got it outside, they dropped it onto the brick sidewalk and rolled it on the pavement to the truck. Needless to say, the edges are all damaged - and glass can't be "fixed". They must have dragged our dining room table along its edge, because that was damaged badly. They couldn't figure out how to get an antique secretary desk off of our porch. I had to take the doors off, and they still gouged one of the drawers. The least experienced member put an unprotected dolly against the front of a 40-year-old grandfather clock and damaged it. At our new location, they damaged 2 walls. To their credit, they had a gentleman come repair most of the wood damage (not all). As I didn't hear from Two Men and a Truck about repairing the wall damage, and we need to sell that house, I fixed it, expecting to be compensated for my time and material. They told me that the repairs had to be done by one of their vendors and as such, I would not be compensated. I would NEVER recommend this company!

Patriot Moving Systems caught my attention so I called them to get more information. I talked with Dennis to get answers to my questions. He told me they are full service, meaning they will pack as well as move your household contents. You also have the option to do your own packing. One place I called pretty much only loads and moves your stuff so you have to do your own packing. Patriot sells boxes and packing materials but also suggested Home Depot or Lowe's but said he actually prefers and recommends getting these from U-Haul as he thinks theirs are better quality and sturdier. What I like is the way Dennis explained our options without overly promoting materials through Patriot. He also explained the rates for their services. Basically it is an hourly rate per person plus a trip charge and cost of the truck usage. He came out and walked through or house and then was able to give us a rough estimate of the number of hours we would likely need. We planned to use a staging company so we needed to pack some things to thin out certain areas like closets and kitchen countertops. So we arranged for Patriot to send out three people to box and move things into the garage for three hours and that was a big help. They were focused and hard working guys who went practically non-stop for the time scheduled. Whenever there was a question about packing certain items they asked about it. I could tell that they all knew what they were doing, their experience showed and they treated our things as if they were theirs. Delicate items were wrapped well for protection. Our move is currently on hold as we continue to pursue selling our home but Dennis checks in with me periodically to see how things are going. I will update this review once we actually complete our move but we know who we trust with packing and moving our property.
