What a terrible experience, and my fellow yelpers know that I don't say things like that often. Maybe it's because I purchased a groupon for Angie Breedwell to get a mani-pedi and because of that I understand that there would be a possible wait to get an appointment in, but my wait extended to 3 days, and here's what get's me; if the merchant knows that the volume of appointments would go up, at least notify your clients through voice mail system that it takes you X amount of days to get back to people, she does not do this; however she does notify you that if you leave a text, it's easier to get a response so one would assume that you'd hear back that same day or the next, but don't get your hopes up. She wont apologize either, she replied saying she's working solo and that she tends to her clients and pretty much what you're left understanding is: "deal with it" I should have just asked groupon to refund my money then, but I didn't, and eventually she got back to me and I was able to make an appointment only to have her leave me a message the day before the appointment to cancel...... After all the trouble I went through to get that appointment, even though I had told her that the reason why I wanted to ensure the appointment was because I had a function to attend and wanted to get it done before then. I wrote back trying to be flexible and suggested another time; guess what? She didn't get back to me. Why should a paying client have to go through so much trouble to have a service rendered to them? She obviously doesn't need my business and to prevent anyone else from going through what I did, I heed you all this warning; you're better off just going to one of those walk in places, that's what I will end up having to do. read more

iStudio Salons - Hair Salons Near Me - Maitland, Florida

This is my first review, so please bear with me :) My hair stylist of 9 years, JR, recently moved into a new space at iStudios Salon in Maitland. Walking into the new salon was quite different than anything I've ever seen before. Throughout the building are multiply sectioned off areas, mini salons if you will, for each stylist. Some sections may only have one stylist and some two or three. So the spaces are really designed for the owners/stylists needs. The entire space feels open and airy and many of the rooms have HUGE ceiling to floor glass windows which bring in a ton of sunlight. While I was there, stylist would come into JR's salon and chat it up, share stories, or even find out what products they were using. I felt there was a mutual respect for other stylists talents as well as a sense of camaraderie between each of them. I think a salon space like this has its perks. For example, JR does not do eye brow waxing, but there are other mini salons inside iStudios that do. So I could easily go from a hair appt to an eye brow waxing at another salon while never leaving the building. If I felt a bit friskier, I did meet someone there that also does spray tanning in their salon. If you are in the area and are in the need of a "new" salon, you should definitely check it out. read more

My hairdresser/loctician has a booth here. It's located in Lake Lilly in Maitland. When you walk in the door, there's a directory to find where you need to go. Also an ATM to your left. I love the privacy you get here. It's not your traditional salon where everything is open and everyone is able to hear your conversation. Each booth or should I say room because it has a door; is maybe the size of a small kitchen equipped with a sink if you're getting a wash. Also a storage area for other items. I love the atmosphere here. It's always nice and clean. A little noise; but nothing overwhelming. As long as my loctician is here; I'm here. read more

I go to Gizelle Ramirez for hair and she is an amazing stylist and person! She has great insight in life and is very skilled with color. She is very open and honest about recommendations and suggestions, and will give you her opinion on what is best for your hair, with respect to what you are trying to achieve. After a color session, she will take you outside to see how the color is in natural lightening and correct anything that needs correcting. Price is a bit expensive for her services depending on your hair and what you want - color retouch and trim (for me) $87 - but she is really good at what she does. The studio is difficult to find if you're using a GPS. It'll tell you make a u-turn but just turn left across from Florida mall and you'll see the studio on the left, next to JoAnne's craft store. read more

I went to Joy (@soyjanders on Instagram) with hair that had been box dyed black for 5 years and walked out as a whole new person with beautiful brown/caramel hair. I just moved here 5 months ago and Olivia in studio 2 does my hair; I complimented a coworker on her near perfect highlights and she referred me to iStudio and Olivia in particular (it's so hard to find a good hairdresser in a new job relocation!) my highlights and cuts are AWESOME; i've never NOT had a hairdresser drench my hair in toner after putting color in my roots but olivia is such a mastermind, she times it just right and I can tell my hair texture is much healthier after going to her for a few color/cuts. She is super flexible, will text you appointment availability/confirmations and will always offer complimentary coffee or wine during appointments. She listens to my wants and concerns every appointment while also making her own recommendations. Can't wait to go back for my next color and cut :) read more

After a fair amount of research I scheduled an iStudio Salon appointment at the Maitland location right next door to Lake Lilly. The iStudio Salon concept is a little different then what I've previously encountered. This is a large studio that has been compartmentalized into individual salons that are individually staffed by different stylists. I initially called the main iStudios number and asked for a recommendation for a good hair stylist. I was given the name of Logan Slaughter. A stylist who is apparently new to iStudios, but who is a well established stylist, with 10 years of professional experience, and who received formal apprenticeship in NYC (impressive.) I had my first appointment with her today for a haircut. Tomorrow's my birthday (and like most women I want nice hair for my birthday) so I was a little nervous. Logan did not disappoint. I got an outstanding haircut (: She has a friendly but, professional, demeanor, and is knowledgeable and well trained. She listened to what I wanted, and then added her professional opinion.
