Then when she finally does arrive she sits down at the front desk and starts talking with the receptionist. Then she has to go wash her hands (which is good)...20 minutes later she returns?!?!? So we finally start 35 minutes late and she starts putting on my makeup. I can't see myself since there wasn't a mirror in front of me but I looked at my friend who was with me and she had a horrified look on her face. So when I finally got to see my face, I was terrified! I looked like I belonged in the Rocky Horror Picture Show! So I made her re-do my eye makeup and she toned it down enough to where I only looked like a street hooker...Needless to say I immediately wiped everything off once I got to my car and did my own makeup for the night. Between the horrible customer service I received and the outcome of my service, I will not be returning to this salon even if I do have a discount for it. On a (good) side not: I have gotten my eyebrows waxed here by Andrea and she was very professional and did a good job.

I had an appointment scheduled with them almost two weeks before the date, and even though I had to place a down payment to book the appointment, my nail tech rushed through the entire process. She texted me to alert me to the fact that she was able to finish her previous client early, and I could come in when I wanted. I showed up around 5 pm, about an hour before my appointment, and I was done in an hour. I had Apres Gel X nails applied, and was shocked that I was in and out. I didn't think much of it, as I'm new to the nail system, and even though the nails weren't the shape I wanted (I told her I wanted a rounded almond shape, nothing pointy, and she left me with stiletto nails) they looked pretty. Cut to me waking up at 3 am from my fingers throbbing in pain. I was scared as I didn't know what was happening, and my nails were sore on top of everything. I now know that this occurred because the Gel X nails applied were too small for my nails, and basically squeezing the life out of them. My fingers a little over 12 hours after application, were warm, red, and throbbing. Meraki is closed on Sunday's so I had to find another salon to remove them. Thank goodness I did! The nail tech took her time in removing the nails, which was also painful, and explained everything the Meraki nail tech did wrong. The list of faults was numerous but the worst being, of course, rushing so badly that she couldn't even size the nails properly to my nail beds. I can't believe a salon that "specializes" in fashion nails would allow a client to be physically hurt by shoddy technique and application! I spent 65 dollars (including a tip I now more than regret leaving) to have my nails removed less than 24 hours later with concerns for the health of my nails and fingers. It's 3 days after the removal, and my fingers are still sore from the experience. I've attempted to get in touch with the manager of the location, but she has yet to return my calls. I also went to the salon yesterday, a Tuesday, at 7pm and they were closed. The posting on the door states that from Tues - Sat they're open from 10am - 8pm, yet they were closed a full hour early. I think this is something they do on the regular, and if I were the owner I would not be happy. I say this because they were rushing to get out of there even when I was there for my appointment. At this point I feel like my money is lost, as even though I've left my contact information for them they have not reached out to me, but the least I can do is warn other people away from this location. My co-worker has been a loyal patron of the Winter Garden location, so if you want to visit a Meraki Salon, I suggest taking the drive over there. One of the techs here may end up leaving you disfigured, do not trust them with your nails.

I strayed away from nail salons because it was being dominated by one ethnic group and the atmosphere that most of these salons created was becoming intolerable. So i have not gone to a nail salon for over a year. LOCATION: 3stars This particular location is in a strip mall. It's somewhat difficult to identify it as a nail salon. Apparently on my visit, they are going through renovations. I scheduled a pedicure and it was cancelled the evening before because of the "renovations". The tech on the phone told me they did not have the pedicure chairs available. Please note: On scheduling each service you are required to put a down payment, which is non refundable if you cancel less than 24 hours in advance. I still had my full set scheduled. I booked my appointment ONE month in advance. The front area in the salon is nice with a glamour-esque feel. Where the nail techs sit, the foot boards were removed and there were large chairs to the side of what I assume was the pedicure station. That was the only sign of work being done. The music being played was a little louder than expected, but hey, I think it's suppose to be trendy PROFESSIONALISM: 1 stars The main reason for this low rating on professionalism is the license displayed by law that I came across were all EXPIRED. Maybe not updated but it had been since October 2018. This is a big deal. They need to fix it immediately. In addition, It may be a little hard for this kind of environment to balance a good level of professionalism, relaxed and "hip"/trendy atmosphere. I personally prefer the highest level of professionalism. Music was being played a little higher than normal volume and you could still hear the conversations between the nail techs. These conversations when spoken in English were inappropriate with curse words most times. And in Spanish, I know how to identify the curse words. I think the clientele normally wouldn't mind, but definitely not what I was expecting. Thankfully, My nail tech was very friendly and professional, but the others dragged the rating down Level of work: 4 stars My particular nail tech was rather skilled. I loved my nails for the artwork, beautifully done!. For me, maybe I picked something that was too glamour, because I never got accustomed to the length. But I will say they were done very well. I was told I can come back to get it soaked off at no cost, but apparently that was wrong. It's $10 for soak off. Regardless, in general the prices are reasonable. I really love the diversity of this nail salon, so I will try the other location and hope for a better experience

I was pleasantly surprised when she came with an entire suitcase of makeup that would accommodate my complexion, along with her own makeup chair and ring light.
