Been buying for smokes at this place for a few years (and my friend and I always do scratch offs…read morewhile we're there too ). The owners are usually there when we go, which is once every several months. They are so kind and cool. We were buying smokes not too far away at a place on Calumet and one time decided to stop there instead. On that first visit, we asked about the prices and he guaranteed us they had lowest allowed in Indiana. Being the road detectives that we are, we decided to price compare on that trip and the next one, but from what we found he was telling truth. So now this is our go to. Plus they're just cool, nice people that own it.

I really hate leaving negative reviews, and I'll be honest I have not shopped here before, but…read moreafter calling and inquiring I don't believe I would. My reasoning behind this is because I travel from the south suburbs of Cook County, Illinois and have been traveling to a Indiana for cigarettes for a few years now, and my usual gas station is closing thus why I have been shopping around calling different cigarette outlets, and different gas stations around the Hammond and Highland areas which are both in Indiana, and this place in particular is thee only place in which they weren't able to share prices over the phone. Now I do understand there may be possible policies and reasonings for them not to share, but they just lost a possible customer that would shop bi-weekly, every month. I buy multiple cartons at a time. So it is what it is, but again they lost a possible loyal customer over not being able to share something as simple as a price. One thing I will add, is that the woman who did answer the phone was very kind.

True gets mentioned in the local Facebook vegan groups a lot, and I was recently inspired to go…read morethere based on some of the new menu items that were mentioned. Their standard menu does not feature their vegan options, so we had to wait for the waitress to come back around again to ask for this. Unfortunately, the Vegan Chicken Breast was crossed off, so I'm not sure if that will be coming back. I went with the Vegan Reuben, a reliable standard, but it was terribly disappointing. It prompted me to pull up my photos from our previous dining experience there, and the sandwich looks so much more unappetizing. The current sandwich is wet, pale, and oddly sweet. The color and texture are so different, so I'm not sure what they've changed from their original recipe.

Luckily it also has its own parking lot and finding parking was easy. The menus you can order from both restaurants and have similarities, which is interesting such as the calamari, which is the appetizer we ordered. Interestingly, enough, the calamari is priced differently on both menus depending on which one you look at with a difference of three dollars. Overall, the food portions were very good. They also have some specials. The menu is very straightforward and luckily for us carnivores had a lot of choices. Service was very friendly and kind and the food came out very quickly. The bread service is a little bit off. They probably could actually serve you the olive oil with the cheese and the pepper so that you could actually dip it more for your bread. I do wish the calamari came with legs not just rings. The steak was perfectly cooked and the fries were delicious as well. The barbecue special that my friend ordered did not disappoint. We both absolutely cleaned up our plates and did not have room for dessert. This is definitely spot if you're in the area to check out great fun ambience. It wasn't too packed or busy and the food is very straightforward and tasty.

Not sure how much longer that is going to be as they are getting rid of straws. Personally, I prefer a straw so hopefully everyone complains enough to keep them. As for the smoking sitch, I can take it or leave it. Just keep cigar guy over that way! It is small and the music varies so that is nice. Lots of beers to choose from which my husband likes. Drinks are always the way I like. No food is served but I have seen people bring stuff from The Eatery and enjoy their cocktails with their food. The chairs/stools have backs YESSSS!! It can get crowded especially on the weekends and finding a seat can be difficult. There are also electronic dart boards. They do not take the players card to pay for drinks or other promotions (although certain promos say they should just for credit for spending a certain limit).

They've got a rad selection of some of the country's finest all for $5 a pint, with some beers on special for $2 & $3 a pint. Dragon's Milk @ $5 a pint? Yep. You read that right. A PINT. $5. I sh*t you not. Service can be a bit spotty at times but overall the staff is really friendly and they're pretty knowledgable about the 32 beers on tap. They have a few small bites on their menu but they're pretty much just microwave oven type things, though that didn't stop me from choking down on the pretzel bites with spicy mustard and beer cheese. In fact, I got two orders just for myself. No regrets.
