    Breaded Pork Tenderloin with Fries

Had the opportunity to visit for the first time and everything was wonderful! Promptly greeted and seated - everyone was so friendly! Ordered the Breaded Pork Tenderloin and Fries and it came out fresh and piping hot. The flavor was on point! I will definitely be back.

Absolute fire. Absolute flame. Absolute gas. - Reasonable prices. - Got a table right away. - Food was PIPING hot. - Delicious toast and whipped butter for days. - Can get biscuit on the side with homemade jam. - Clean bathrooms. - Our only critique is the coffee. Both mine and my husband's tasted burnt. We will be back!!

We enjoyed tenderloins and the lunch special of meatloaf and tried the cinnamon roll. Delicious.

The food was so delicious. The service was wonderful. It was a busy place but people were seated quickly.

Denver omelette with a side of mini biscuits and gravy

Small intimate location located at the corner of Northeast 14th and NE 70th, in Carney, Iowa. The same owners of Smoky D's restaurant owns this location, however, this has the feel of a small town diner. I had the Denver omelette with the mini biscuits and gravy, extremely delicious. The pepper was a bit heavy on the gravy, but I can over look that. My partner had the whole meat omelette with the hashbrowns, again she said it was delicious. The hashbrowns needed a little more seasoning, we are able to take care of that at the table. The pastry (Jam'in Tart), was a homemade version of a pop tart. We had the strawberry filled one. Came out hot and extremely delicious. We will try another flavor next trip. Overall, it's good enough for me to come back and try another time. Great good, prices were very reasonable!!

Once again I need a pop tart fix. If you like feeling like a kid again but your taste buds expect a more that a bixed experience than this is where you come. Today we have the traditional brown sugar cinnamon and a season cherry tart. What fabulous way to start a snowy day.

A recent addition to the North Metro breakfast and lunch scene, It's My Jam is immediately considered one of the best breakfast spots I've enjoyed around Ankeny. Open 6 AM-2 PM every day, we visited as they started business on a Sunday morning. Literally. Plentiful parking, a roomy seating arrangement, and clean and well-lit. They serve lunch as of 1030 AM. Michelle was our server; she was outstanding, fun to chat with, kind, and truly knew the menu and its contents. She helped me select the Breakfast Burrito ($10.99), smothered with country gravy, and a great tip on including sausage (hint: get the hot salsa!)! My Way Better Half enjoyed the Build Your Own Hashbrown, which included Italian sausage, onions, bacon, hashbrowns, red bell peppers, over-easy eggs, and Swiss cheese. My only suggestion to the staff: I wish their delicious sourdough bread had butter as an option. They also have daily specials and offer them the next day as ToGo pre-packaged, refrigerated meals at the counter that looked delicious (note to self: hamballs on Fridays). I appreciate that they have Toast (fitting) technology for easy checkout and payment.

This is a new restaurant in a beloved space. The owners of Smokey Ds are doing breakfast the way of the former Sorriso Grille. The remodel looks great. My only caveat is the floors and chair combination may be a little tricky for our less than sure footed folks. The chairs slide very easily. The food was very good. Not a huge menu, but good selection of tried and true favorites. Our party of 5 had a BYO omelet, avocado toast, BYO hashbrowns and the chicken fried steak. The portions are plentiful and prices reflect what you get. Everyone enjoyed the food. The service was quick and friendly. Being able to pay at your table is also a great perk!

Fun place to visit. Staff was friendly coffee was great. Lots of great menu options and I'm a corned beef hash fan so that's where I went as soon as I seen it as an option. I sen the table next to us order the famous French toast and it looked amazing also. That's on my list for my next visit.

**A Classic Favorite, Revamped** That's My Jam has taken over the old Sorriso Grill and given it a fresh, new look. While the ambiance is updated, many familiar dishes remain, bringing back nostalgic flavors. We were disappointed to miss out on the cinnamon rolls, which are legendary and apparently just as delicious under new management. The weekday lunch menu offers a variety of options, though the early 2 PM closing time is a bit limiting. The service is still top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff. The prices are incredibly reasonable for the quality of food and service. We'll definitely be back to try more of the menu and, of course, those famous cinnamon rolls!

We weren't feeling too terribly hungry, so we wanted to try something light. We had driven past this place before, but it was always too busy to even enter. Luckily this time since it was during the week, it wasn't busy. We were seated right away and our order was taken. Everything was very fast. Believe it or not my pancake was all I needed. It had such great vanilla flavor and fresh. My husband loved his breakfast as well with the eggs and toast, etc. By the time we finished eating, the place started to pack up with definite regulars. My favorite part about this place, it's the cheapest breakfast we've ever found. I don't mind paying the big bucks for great food, but it's even better when it's great food for a very affordable price. They also serve lunch. It's definitely a place. We will go back and try. The ambience is just like any breakfast/diner vibe: Fun, friendly, and delicious!

I ordered the Pit Master Sandwich with a side of French onion soup (you get to choose a side with the sandwich). The sandwich was really good! The bread was buttery and soft, and the homemade croutons in the soup were clearly made from fresh bread. The French onion soup wasn't for me--it kind of tasted like acid reflux to me, so I gave it to my mom. She actually thought it was pretty good. The sandwich had perfectly balanced barbecue sauce and cheese, although I thought the barbecue sauce overpowered the cheese a bit. Next time, I'd probably order it without the cheese. The brisket was good, but I would've preferred a fattier cut because I think it would have been more flavorful. I also wasn't a fan of the Gouda since it didn't melt very well, but the other cheese on the sandwich was delicious. Overall, the food was incredible, and this place is an absolute MUST if you're in the area! I noticed they have around 78,000 DoorDash orders, and after eating here, I can definitely see why. I'll actually be coming back in a few days before I leave my vacation because there are so many other delicious items on the menu that I can't wait to try! Staff were also nice!

Restaurant was small, interior could've used a quick sweep. Restaurant was relatively quiet besides chatter from the workers whom seem to be friendly with one another which is a huge plus from a guest perspective. Flame Cantina in Ankeny promises a taste of Mexican street food with a modern twist, and for the…read moremost part, it delivers. My recent visit was a flavorful fiesta, with some dishes shining brighter than others. The Good: The homemade chips and salsa is a menu item (not complimentary) Which we don't mind because you are more mindful when eating them. They are also delicious and if you get the guacamole or the chees dip you will not be disappointed! Mango Shrimp Tacos: These were the stars of the show. The tortillas cradled juicy grilled shrimp, drizzled with a vibrant mango Pico de Gallo and bathed in a creamy guajillo crema. The sweet and spicy combo was a true explosion of taste, and the shrimp cooked to perfection - tender and slightly smoky. Quesa Birria Tacos: These braised beef delights were another winner. The slow-cooked Angus beef was melt-in-your-mouth tender, swimming in a rich, flavorful adobo sauce. The crispy tortillas held up well to the juicy filling, and the accompanying onion and cilantro dipping sauce added a refreshing touch. Atmosphere: The restaurant itself is a vibrant and inviting space. The open kitchen adds to the lively atmosphere, and the colorful décor transports you straight to a bustling Mexican cantina. The 'OK' Taco Salad: While the ingredients were fresh and flavorful (ground beef, black beans, corn, Pico de Gallo, cheese, and a tangy cilantro lime dressing), the salad suffered from a glaring omission - lettuce! A taco salad without lettuce is like a margarita without lime - it just feels incomplete. (To be fair - our server offered to go get my Wife some lettuce, I just thought it was worth noting.) Service: The service was friendly, and on-point. Tristan kept the drinks filled and was attentive without being over bearing, in a small place like this it is a good balance. Overall: Flame Cantina offers a delicious and vibrant taste of Mexican street food, with some dishes truly excelling. The mango shrimp and birria tacos were standouts, and the atmosphere is perfect for a casual and fun dining experience. Just be sure to request extra lettuce for your taco salad, and you're good to go! Final Verdict: 4 out of 5 stars. Flame Cantina is a great choice for a casual and flavorful Mexican meal, with a few minor tweaks needed to truly ignite all five stars. Pro Tips: Try the spicy hot sauce - ask for it, it one of the better ones I've had because it has both the heat and the flavor! Saturday's are $3 tacos until 5pm! I hope this review helps you decide whether to give Flame Cantina a try!

Oh and my favorite soup in the area the tomatoes basil bisque. So I ordered the 30hop burger I did take off the lettuce only because of the recent situation. My only thing I wish they would improve on is to thicken up their ranch its so thin it drips off quickly and is all over the place. Allison K did an amazing job with answering my questions and the next time I come back in the Turkey Panini will be my next choice with the soup dipper option. The service was excellent--our waiter was kind, attentive, and made us feel well taken care of. I ordered the yakisoba bowl without any meat add-ins, and I'm so glad I did. 4/14/26 3:15 p.m…read more Online Order for Pick Up Food: We were very excited to try the food here, but we weren't too impressed, unfortunately. We ordered a Caesar Wrap w/chicken, Chicken Pesto w/no cherry tomatoes, Firehouse Chimichurri w/steak and no cherry tomatoes, Chocolate Smoothie, and Farmer's Punch. For starters, all of the produce was fresh and crisp (which is always a plus), but you can tell that meat is not their forte. The chicken tasted as if it were precooked, frozen chicken (not saying that's a bad thing, just didn't seem as if it was freshly cooked), and the steak was full of almost inedible gristle. The overall flavor of the food was pretty lackluster as well, besides on the Chicken Pesto; the balsamic vinaigrette was very overpowering. The Caesar Wrap was large, but the sandwiches were quite small portion-wise. The Chocolate Smoothie tasted more like a green smoothie with chocolate protein powder, and we had a really hard time keeping it mixed; sadly, we didn't finish it :( The Farmer's Punch, on the other hand, was really good! Service: The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. The person who greeted us was friendly, but not particularly social, if that makes sense? It almost seemed as if they didn't have enough time for us. They were polite and quick with getting our order to us, though. Ambiance: Inside is quite small and not meant for a dine-in experience; there are no tables at all. This is definitely a pick-up/to-go/drive-through type of establishment. It's kept very clean, though, from what we could see.
