David responded right away to my email request and then turned around a digital sample for review within hours. I delivered the 10 shirts to him last Saturday and they were ready by Wednesday of this past week. My husband picked up the shirts yesterday. We are extremely pleased with the work. I would definitely recommend Ballyhoo for your embroidery.

Blank coveralls in hand, I started trolling the yellow pages for an embroidery service to sew my name and job on the pocket, and I found Ballyhoo, right across the street from my office in Courthouse Plaza. I brought them in, explained what I wanted, and the shop turned them around in just 3 days, more than enough time for me to rock the con. They didn't even charge me a rush fee. David, the owner, was helpful and personable both on the phone and in person, and gave me exactly what I was looking for. In addition to custom embroidery, he can do custom screen printing, transfers, and promo items- I kind of want to go look for more things I can have him embroider because I'm so pleased. If you're looking for a local business to do shirts for your office, Little League uniforms, mousepads with your kids on them, or any custom printing, I highly recommend giving Ballyhoo a call.

In an effort to make friends and get…read moreout the house when I knew I would not be working for a while I decided to look for classes on groupon. For the insanely cheap price of $130 dollars or so i got to have two official knitting lessons and as much sit and knit as I could possibly want. I started in September when classes started again after the summer and pretty much went to every sit and knit I was entitled too go to every sat and sun from then untill I left DC to move to Cali in June 2014. I miss sit and knit and the expertise and friendships I made at this class. I not only got my monies worth but gained even more in friendship and life long skills. I made fingerless gloves, scarves (5 in total) a bear and am now working on a bedside mat. I believe some people have had some issues below which quite frankly leave me perplexed - How can something be a scam if you get your money back from groupon? This is a one woman show, which pretty much means if something comes up then things might not happen. Thats just the way it is when you run a small business by yourself. The number of times I witnessed people coming to class not reading what they needed to bring or where they needed to meet were so numerous and somehow this was never their fault. Take responsibility for yourselves please people. You are an adult!

I'm a self-taught knitter using books and the Internet. When I went to class explain what I want to do to Terri, and she helped me and I have been making much more complicated patterns since then. I go every Sunday when I can and I always have a great time & I met a great group of women in the process. I can't wait for the next project. Terri was very patient with my questions, sometimes the same one multiple times. If you forget your stitch markers, don't worry someone will have them.

We were doing a little theme visit, arts and crafts. Earlier we made candles and then we headed to our afternoon reservation to make paint pottery at All Fired Up. Once we arrived we were instructed to pick out our piece we desired. We were seated at the front window, just the two if us. It was nice to sit with each other without others around. I chose two pieces, a topper for $13 and a strawberry container for I think $27. I felt the pricing was extremely reasonable especially since you used their glaze, they fire it, and they set up and clean up for you. They also offer a military discount, which handled around the cost of the tax. The staff were great. They were always making sure we were ok, without being to over the top. They kept things moving. . They do offer "private" parties and birthday parties. The set up was pretty nice, and quaint. There was a large table set in the back. While I was there there was two parties. Each party brought a cake and snacks. There are aprons available and an abundant selection of supplies available. It looks like they also do arts with glass. Parking can be tricky. So I suggest to leave time to navigate that, so you are not late for your appointment. We found street parking a few streets over. But, there was slot a lot where you paid.

We were instructed to pick out any item we wanted, and they even had simpler options for those of us who aren't as artistic. Once we made our selections, we were able to grab our colors and brushes and start painting. The two-hour time limit was very reasonable, and the staff did a great job checking in and reminding us of our time. After finishing, we wrote our names on the bottom, and the staff took care of the rest. They glaze your finished piece, and you can return in about a week to pick it up. The space is small and simple, but it's a great choice for anyone looking for a fun activity or planning a group event. I also found the prices to be very reasonable.
