We were met at the station in a beautiful Mercedes. The driver met us right at the head of the track and took our luggage to the car. On the way to Sorrento he gave us information about Naples and the towns we passed on the way to Sorrento. A full day tour of the Amalfi Coast was also booked from the US. Francesco was waiting outside the hotel when we came out 10 minutes before our agreed upon time of 0900. This entire day was very enjoyable. This tour is a must for anyone visiting this part of Italy. I thought of driving it myself but I'm glad I didn't and I wouldn't recommend anyone else driving it either. The road is difficult, narrow and hilly. The large number of hairpin turns and tour buses will not allow you to enjoy the beauty of the Amalfi Coast. Our driver was informative and really made this a great day. We did a brief tour of a Lemoncello factory (no pressure to buy anything at all) that was very informative. His recommendation for lunch was outstanding. One of the best meals we've had in Italy. This was so much better than taking one of the big tour buses where you have little control of what/where you go, and you bring the crowd with you. I booked this transfer and excursion from the US and found everyone to be wonderful. They always answered my emails promptly and the cost of this excellent service is very reasonable. We utilized Sami's services for pick up from the Naples Airport, an Amalfi coast day tour (Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello), a Pompeii historical/Vesuvius winery tour, a drop off/pick up Maiori beach day, and drop off at the Naples train terminal. For us this was the best way to vacation in Amalfi for overall value and safety. They have wonderful cars (mostly Mercedes of various sizes) and can do any type of transport that you may require from airport transfer, to day trips to even finding you a guide at local tourist sights such as Pompeii or Ravello. And unlike some other companies, all of these drivers speak perfect English so there is no need to struggle with your Italian (good thing for this language challenged gal!) I used them to take us to Ravello and our driver, Gianluca, was so delightful that we immediately booked him for an additional day trip to take us to Sorrento and Pompeii. What makes them so special is that they go the extra mile. When we got to Ravello, Gianluca knew a local restaurant to take us to for lunch that wasn't even on our list and the food was great and the staff very welcoming. He also knew to take us across the valley so we could look back on the gardens we were going to go to and see how beautiful they were on the edge of the coast. Trust me- you don't want to be renting a car and driving yourself on the twisty, turning roads that make up the Amalfi Coast. There were times where we were backing up to let the large tour buses go by and other times where we just had to pull to the side of what looked like a complete drop off to let big trucks go by. I felt safe, and confident the entire time we were in Gianluca's car. And here's a treat. When our driver heard we were in Italy celebrating birthdays, he went out of his way to call his friend who worked at Li Galli Restaurant (see my review) and get us the best table in the house and this on a Friday night! This service will run you about 200 euros for 4 hours and 50 euro for each hour after that. And while they do take credit cards, they don't take Am Ex so know before you go. Definitely a great service provider with some of the friendliest people in town! Every time we walked by their office (which was just around the corner from our villa) the drivers would come out to say "hi" which again made us feel like we were highly appreciated! Thanks guys!
