It is a typical…read moreneighborhood park with a playground, open grass fields, indoor basketball courts, tennis courts, picnic shelters, a dog park, a seasonal Splash Zone water play area, and more. There are also temporary pickleball courts set up during certain hours of every day. Since these courts are not permanent, they are not great. The portable nets are flimsy and the area is way too cramped for the amount of people that visit. My main complaint with this park is that it is often pretty dirty. Although there are plenty of trash cans all over the park, I still always see litter scattered throughout the park floor, making it not an ideal place to walk my dogs. In addition, the park is super muddy whenever it rains. The park tends to get super busy on weekends, with all sorts of people coming to exercise, have parties, attend kids' sports games, or for events. Parking spots may completely fill up on weekends, while there will be plenty of open spots on weekdays.

Park Offerings: 1) Playgrounds for the kids 2) Baseball field 3) Indoor basketball/Volleyball courts in their gymnasium. Just have to find out when it's open gym for those relative sports. 4) Tennis courts and Pickleball courts. For pickleball, there's specific times to play Monday through Sunday: 5pm to 930pm (Monday, Wednesday, Friday) and 8am to 1pm (Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday). Just have to be mindful of the hours that they have it. The city sets up the nets for everyone to use. They're not permanent courts. 5) Splash Zone/Swimming Pool. You'll have to be mindful of the times and rates. 6) Dog Park: Located next to the tennis courts. 7) Picnic Tables/Gazebo 8) Fitness Zones: You'll see some manual outdoor exercise machines 9) Restrooms: They're nice. Location/Parking: Located on Emerson between San Gabriel and Del Mar.. Parking can be found on the street or in their parking lot. Ambiance/Decor: Go outside and touch grass for a bit. It's like a escape for a bit. Garvey Park For Thought: Don't mind coming back to touch grass. I'll primarily be playing pickleball courts when I have time.

Every week, we see the…read moresame trash sitting in the same corners -- sometimes it just gets blown around to other areas. It seems like the courts are being ignored, which doesn't make sense because they're used often. Families come here all the time, and we see kids riding their bikes or learning how to ride -- but there are sharp metal strips from tennis ball cans and all kinds of trash around. I've seen pizza boxes, candy wrappers, flyers, bottles -- you name it, it's probably in the courts. I even spoke with one of the cleaning staff who was cleaning other areas but skipped over the courts. I mentioned to him that people, including children, use these courts regularly, and they deserve to be clean and safe. I plan to email the city about this because it's not right that we pay taxes and our local courts are being overlooked. The courts are always in use, so it's not like they're forgotten or abandoned. They're right next to the splash pad, which makes it a popular area for families -- another reason why maintenance should be a higher priority. Please, keep our tennis courts and parks clean so families and children can safely enjoy them.

Many dogs walking around too so super pet friendly with trash bags and bins. There are 2 big playgrounds and a fitness center as well. There's also a little rose garden! Of course Rosemead had to have roses haha. Parking is convenient either street parking or parking in the basketball court or swimming pool lots. There are couple public restrooms open at night. The area feels very safe and well lit. I saw people dancing, baseball and soccer teams practicing and many people going out on their daily walks. I'd imagine it would be a great place for bbq as well during the day. Little details matter. Great job city of rosemead. Bugs and mosquitos love me but I managed to not get a single bite!! The gazebo is powered by solar which is pretty cool. Water fountains are dog friendly. I can't think of any improvements haha keep up the good work!

They separate the dog park…read morebetween smaller and large dogs which is a good thing to see to avoid any extensive harm, etc. It's often pretty clean here but occasionally, you'll see dogs poop and people not being responsible picking up the poop. There's some obstacles around in both sections but dogs don't really use them. Not much shade around, people usually stand by the wall or sit on the benches. There's a couple tables in the big dog section though with umbrellas for shade which is nice. The big dog section is certainly way bigger than the small dog section. They're able to explore more, and sniff around all around. PROS: - Small dogs vs Big Dogs section - Big space for big dogs to roam around - Free poop bags - Water fountain in both sections CONS: - Sometimes too dirty - Puddles after rain - Not sure if water is clean - Lots of sand which causes dust up that can cause damage to dogs eyes Overall, a decent dog park, not much to do besides watch your dog roam around. My wife and I have met plenty of friendly dogs here and also a decent amount of non friendly dogs. Usually owners are responsible but you'll often find that sometimes there's dog owners that are just on their phones and not watching their dog.

The section for large dogs is bigger than the section for small dogs. Poop bags and water stations are available in both spaces. There are a few benches and tables in each area as well. This park is fairly well-maintained, although it could be better. Most dog owners that I've run into seem friendly and responsible. However, there are some owners that are completely careless and do not control their misbehaving dogs. Watch out for some of the huskies that are brought here (they can get aggressive). Hours are supposedly 7am to 7pm everyday. However, I have run into multiple instances where they have not opened up yet even though it was past 7am. It would be nice if they opened the park in a timely manner.
