This was a lovely store years ago, but as the years passed the lady that runs the store seemed to get more antisocial, and I knew last year it was going to be the beginning of the end for this store. Looks like she's going to re-open at 1746 W Katella, #7 but with her peculiar and antisocial behavior I doubt it's worth the time. The store had many great pieces that I wanted to purchase but all I ever got when visiting this store was "middle finger" vibes. Don't waste your time, plenty of other stores just like this in the circle. This store has many similar one star reviews that I'm surprised it didn't close down sooner. Don't let the "by appointment only" sign at the door put you off! If you're in the market for a beautiful selection of well priced antiques call the number on the sign if they're not with a customer already they will invite you in. (or set a time, browse the Circle and come back). Karen (the lady described negatively in several reviews) is a really lovely person. They have chosen not to run a shop open to the public for "lookie lous" instead they run a showcase for interested buyers. If you are an interested buyer you will love this place! We have purchased many pieces from Karen & Greg, some pristine and some I'm need of TLC which was always reflected in the pricing. We rarely get out of there without a treasure for our home. read more

We are moving out of California and wanted to experience Orange Circle one last time. Went into my favorite antique store and was once again met by the rude woman that I believe owns the place. My hubby and I were immediately drawn to a large, deep seated leather couch as soon as we walked in. As soon as we sat down on it, the lady comes over and says "That's $2700." Her tone and facial expression suggested to me that she assumed I couldn't afford it? We never asked for the price, nor were we looking for the tag; just took a seat to feel the leather. I replied, "ok... thank you" and she proceeded to say "it's from restoration hardware so you can find them anywhere." I was put off by her rudeness and tone so I decided to ask her a question about shipping to see how she would respond. "Oh no we can't do that, isn't worth it for us, you can buy this couch someplace else." WOW. We started to walk the perimeter and immediately the male worker there plugged in a vacuum in the corner we were standing and started vacuuming right behind us- every aisle and step we made, he was there to vacuum behind us. We noticed a gigantic armoire that was super fascinating so my hubby was trying to find the tag with the info on it... suddenly the man stopped vacuuming and said to us "Is this something you need? This piece is for storing quilts, do you need this?" It was such a rude and off putting remark, basically forcing us out of there because clearly we are being watched like a hawk and they don't want our business. Such a shame what this place turned into. I was coming here for years and even wrote a similar review with this similar experience the last time I was at this place years ago... hoping things would be different this last time we will be in it. Went to this store this morning. Waited until 11:00. Still not opened. Walked to Summerhill which is a fantastic store. Made several purchases. Returned to this store and owner had door blocked and wouldn't let us in. Said we needed an appointment. Does it say on yelp that we need an appointment. Karen and Greg are two of my favorite people. They go out of their way to be helpful and kind. Their store is always bursting with so much good stuff. And their inventory is consistently changing so there are lots of new things to see with each visit. The prices are very fair. Some of my most favorite antique pieces have been purchased from here. This place opens at 11am, like most of the shops along Glassell and around the area. The dude who was opening the store was either having a bad day or was just not friendly, he didn't even say "thanks for stopping by, thank-you, hello, etc..." Maybe he was too busy staring at the counter. It's like any other typical multi-dealer antique mall, except I thought the prices were OVERPRICED, even for identical things I've bought on ebay. There is another floor of (overpriced) treasures down stairs too. There were some pretty neat things to see, but with over inflated prices. Too bad. The BONUS was that there was a clean restroom on the main level. There is mostly 2-hr parking along the street. read more

Finally made it to downtown Orange! I was happy to see so many restaurants and antique shops all in one area. So after having brunch across the street, we came to this shop. It's two floors of antiques. Some of the items are over priced for used items. Some are old but clearly not used. There seem to be many sellers at this shop for which there are different discounts for each section. The staff are very helpful and pleasant. Aside from the smell, it's a fun place to walk though. I ended up getting couple of sconces that work as a vase as well. read more

Dr. Emmett Brown: The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style? As I stepped out of my DeLorean, I found myself awfully confused. I thought I was heading to 1955, but found myself in a hand-full of decades. I found myself in (the hilariously named shop given the context of this story) "It's About Time" and realized that I must've split into some odd alternate universe in which multiple decades & generations existed at once. It almost reminded me of a 2013 antique store. ... ...maybe it was? Okay... maybe that guy on Craigslist got me. I might've wasted $100 million on a fake time machine. Never trust a DeLorean. Or Craigslist. Or guys named Stephanie. Well... now that I realize I was indeed in a 2013 antique store, it makes sense. Given the correct context, it was priced well, vast (with floor and basement levels) and had a wonderful spread of items you might find to be treasure. It's about time you visit It's About Time. Walking in to see a really cool piano we were greeted with a harsh, "it's SOLD THANK YOU!" Low and behold it was the lady at the front desk. Reading the other reviews on here there seems to be some consistency in her customer service. My wife and I felt disrespected, so I wouldn't give this place the time of day. Just because it has old items doesn't mean it needs to have an "old bag" show some disrespect. Save yourself the time and energy, head down to the other stores! read more

On 8/16/23 I had Antique's to sell. A friend told me about this store due to he talked to a gentleman the day before and said to have me come in. Well I accidentally went to the wrong store across the street and the lady at that store was very sweet. She showed me where it's about time Antique's. When I walked over there they had shirts outside for sale and a sign blocking to go inside saying appointment only. I started to call the number and a tall lady came and says how can I help you. I told her I had things to sell she then replied I'm not buying anything now. Told her about my friend talking to a guy. She said well I wasn't here yesterday then says oh ya I was. I asked are you not buying because of space and she looks at me really rude and takes a deep breath and says YA that's what I said. We couldn't even go in to look we needed an appt. I grew up here and never saw a store in the circle turn people down To go in store. The lady is really rude and by this post doesn't really sound like it but believe me she was. Went trying to find decor for my new house. Love antique stores and had great things to look at but yikes the lady running it will watch you like a hawk if it "looks" like you're not there to drop a grand. Shop here! If you want to be called a crook! My story: Stopped in the Orange Circle for a Saturday stroll. We occasionally drop by for the antique stores and a bite to eat. We had extra time and really gave the stores a good once over, searching for our favorite collectable.. artisan glass. So we went through each seller's offerings and came upon a Princess House dish which was marked for $10. We normally look for Murano, and I wasn't familiar with the name, so I emailed a friend who was. After he saw the picture, he said it was a good deal, similar pieces selling for $20... So we went back on Sunday. The piece was still there. Took it up front and the gentleman who rung us up, oh how I really wish I could say what !@#$%^&*() means, because it would describe him perfectly. He proceeded to peel the price tag off the item for the next 3 minutes in silence, then the following conversation ensued... Salesman to sales lady in front of us: Is this your writing? Sales lady: Yes it is. Salesman: I need you to do a better job on the labels, because anyone could just take a tag off an item and put it on another and buy it. It's bullsh*t! There was nothing further said. We'd paid for the plate and left for the last time. To this location, we will not again visit. And to the seller in the front of the location who was going to bring in several Murano pieces from home so we could see them, apologies, we won't be returning. read more

Please don't let the 1 star rating prevent you from going in. The store has lovely items and worth going in. My 1 star is for the gentleman who was working on Sunday, April 24th. The doors were open and he was moving furniture out in front of the store. I asked him if the store was open and he rolled his eyes and barked NO! My boyfriend was disgusted and just kept walking. I asked, will it be open soon? (he's moving stuff out in front of the store, so obviously they will be opening). He mumbled some information and just walked back into the store. If this is the type of customer service you have, you will loose business. He was rude and mean. Get it together guy. Life is not that difficult. read more

Worst place I have ever been to. Horrible customer service and RUDE. SO RUDE. Lied about pricing and tried to up sell something I was interested in. The lady who works there was calling the piece i wanted to buy "dumb" and "stupid" and "nothing special". Not a good way to run a business.... I really don't like to be lied too. I bought a pre-war German bread bag for $25! Tag stated $29 but I got a discount, so I was super excited because well I really liked the bag but when I got home and made some research I found out that the original M44 bread bag is different looking not to mention some of the parts are replaced or altered, it's my fault for buying out of impulse, but still I should be able to trust a business claiming it's an "Antique" shop... Also they could have noted it on the tag that is is a replica not the real deal I definitely wouldn't have payed this much. read more

Where do I start? Well first of all, with their ridiculous prices (like $10 for a serving spoon) it's definitely a turn off when you actually see something that you like and it's not even what you imagined it would cost. Secondly, the downstairs area is so cluttered there might be some treasure nobody can see because there's stacks of (overpriced) china in the way. Matter of fact, 3/4 of the stuff on display is something you'd find at the Goodwill a mile away for a buck or two. Sorry for being so brash, but it pains me to see such a lovely circle of antique stores degraded by a "sore thumb" if you will. Matter in fact, the place wouldn't be half bad if you didn't talk to the employees. You see, I'm a camera collector and one time an employee (being quite hounding) asked me 3 minutes into my search in one of the glass cases if I was done. REALLY? Does one really have the audacity to rush a paying customer out of their business? Unbelievable. I thought to myself, maybe it's just that guy. You never know what could be happening in his life. So I decided to give them a second chance. **months later** I see they tidied up the upper level and moved the camera case too! So I ask the lady to open the case and we have a short and delightful conversation. As I'm looking at the cameras she talks about them and how people enjoy looking at them. As I open the back of the camera to check the inside she snaps and splutters, "STOP THAT, YOU'LL JAM THE CAMERA!". Calmly I tell her I know what I'm doing and she replies, "EVERYBODY SAYS THAT!", and wrenches it from my hands and locks it up. In disbelief I simply turn around and leave the store. Recently moved to Orange County and this has quickly become one of my and my husbands favorite ways to spend an afternoon. Greg and Karen are delightful, so I'm surprised by some of the negative comments. Greg is incredibly knowledgeable about antiques and Karen couldn't be more helpful. I can only imagine how frustrating it must be to have people coming in to look and touch things with no intention of buying, especially now that the street has been turned into a street fair atmosphere due to covid. My husband and I are earnest antique hunters and we have amazing finds from here that we enjoy every day, including the overall experience of this wonderful antique shop that's like walking into a movie! read more

This is a huge, 2 floor consignment store. It is set up by stalls of the individual sellers. Most stalls are pretty disorganized and are so packed with stuff that you need to have a sharp eye to find the good among the less good. As they say, "one person's junk is another's treasure" has never been more true than here. There is no theme to the store, but it is not an antiques furniture store as much as it is a bunch of other smaller stuff. Having said that, we have somehow managed over a couple of years to find some well-priced and unique furniture that spruced up the guest bedroom. But this was based on maybe 10 visits to find 3 items. They are good quality and add a touch of eclectic charm to the room. Good place to check out on a regular basis. read more

I haven't had the problems here that other reviewers mentioned. There is one guy who said "Are you sure??" when I pointed out the item I wanted to purchase. I have shopped at "It's About Time Antiques" store for over 2 decades now and the place still sparks "JOY" immensely every single time I step foot inside this place. It saddens me whenever I see anything less than five stars rating for this magnificent store. I have had the privilege of receiving nothing but first class service from Karen and Greg. This place has horrible customer service. I walk in and the lady sitting at the desk looks at me and immediately says "we're closed," looks back down and keeps doing whatever work she was doing. It's fine if you're closed (although it was around 3:45pm. maybe they were closing early for Memorial Day?)- even though both your doors are open, and not just unlocked, but both were propped OPEN. However, the way she said it was just plain rude, as if I had such nerve walking into her shop. No explanation of being closed despite the doors being open, or a simple "sorry, we're closed now," or even a nicer tone. Maybe they get enough business from other people that they don't mind being offensive and keeping away potential buyers- but that's exactly what happened. I will definitely not be back. I have been to dozens of cute antique shops back in Texas and none were this rude. Some are indifferent, and that's fine- sometimes I'd rather not talk either, but being rude is a different story. read more

The guy working was such a jerk! I went in ready to drop some serious $$ on some items but he wouldn't even help me as I politely stood at the desk for over 5 minutes. He was "too busy" holding an inane conversation with other employees. When I finally butted in, he said, "oh, we're closing." fine. When I asked him for the manager he said he wasn't available. I asked for his number and he said he didn't have cards. This is the WORST customer service EVER, and I've worked retail. I won't return. read more

As a customer I always feel valued as they remember not only my name, but my husbands, child's, and mother's name (who lives out of state) and everything we've bought from them. So this place is one of those many antique like malls located in the Orange Circle In Old Towne Orange. This place is HUGE and neatly organized. They have many booths featuring tons of stuff from different dealers. It's a little chichi in here. Tons of antique furniture and some overpriced paintings. There was one piece that I liked and was it was way over priced. The annoying thing is that it was not a litho nor a painting. I looked like a print in an antique like frame. But, what ever. I have visited the shop several times. They have a good selection and it's more than just Americana, which is the primary specialty for many of the other antique stores in Orange (there's nothing wrong with Americana, but I like a mix of different styles/eras). I thought the prices were reasonable, not overpriced as some of the other reviewers mentioned. Moreover, the owners are more than willing to negotiate with you and give you a better deal. This is a great store and I always make a point to hit it when I'm in the Orange circle. The owner really knows his store and when ever I've asked about specific items he can take me right to them and... he has personality, which is more that I can say for some of the Antique stores in the area. He also knows his vendors and will help you work with them. Let me also say that most of my favorite finds were from his store and I've been shopping there for over 10 years.
