I was meeting a friend for lunch at Zov's and stumbled into the most beautiful store filled to the brim with the most curated collection of the finest items from around the world. There was a man and a woman, whom I think were the proprietors.. They were very friendly, not pushy, and very knowledgeable. They explained everything with great knowledge. I felt like I was on a museum tour. There were so many incredible items for the home, but I purchased a pair of estate diamond earrings that were just exquisite! I was pleasantly surprised to discover that the prices were reasonable. The owner, Suzanne, was lovely to talk to and I wish I had found this place sooner. We really like this store! My son loves antique pocket watches, clocks, and books, and we find beautiful items here. We also find wonderful art and furniture, and the pieces (and prices) are great here! We recently bought a lovely pocket watch for my son for Christmas. It worked while we were in the store, but it stopped working before we made it home. We were devastated. We took the watch back, and Winston and his wife said they'd get it taken care of for us. A few weeks later, they had it fixed! Just in time for Christmas! I'm so glad that they stand by their items. If you love beautiful fine art and furniture, you must stop by here for the perfect gifts for family and friends. Over the years we have bought many beautiful items at Winston's. Both Winston and his lovely wife Suzanne are extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. Suzanne even found an excellent craftsman for me, Sergio Ramirez, who restored the beautiful, very valuable armoire I bought there, to its original beauty. Their antique shop looks like a museum, everywhere you look are fascinating items, many of them European. Winston and Suzanne, the owners of this exceptional estate store are the loveliest people I have ever met! They are extremely professional and fair in their pricing and oh my gosh the things they have will bowl you over in absolute aesthetic delight! They have years and years of experience from all over the world in Antiques and Estates that they have taken in and sold worldwide. I stopped in this beautiful antique store while frequenting Zov's Bistro. The store was absolutely gorgeous, and very clean. Typically, when I go into an antique store I start rubbing my nose and sometimes sneezing from the dust. That was not the case at this store. The owner (who I believe was Winston) was playing beautiful music on a baby grand piano in the store. He was warm, and very informative. It was a lovely store, and an enjoyable experience read more

I agree with Sandra M., but, of course, I also want everything for practically nothing. After agreeing to a price, Cleopatra looks to "claw back" on the price. For example, I bundled some items into a basket. We agreed to a price of $10 for everything in the basket. The basket was not going to sell because the sale would be over in 2 more hours (last day), but she insisted the basket was not included. She instructed "Mr. Winston" to write up the items already selected while I looked for more. When I came to settle up, there was a misunderstanding in how it was written up ($5 too much). When I challenged the overcharge, she started yelling at "Mr. Winston". Make sure you everything that you agreed to is represented in the receipt before you sign. Also, I have not had to sign any receipts at an estate sale for anyone else. The estate sale had very good quality items in a beautiful house. read more

I visited this store today to ask about a framed picture I saw at the entrance and waited while the owner was speaking to a couple who were there before me. The owner was loudly complaining with the customers about the current homeless population and joked that "we should shoot some of them." This is beyond disgusting speech and anyone who frequents this store should be appalled by such behavior. I will never set foot in this store again and I will tell everyone I know not to as well. While attending estate sales during the past 3 years I've had the unpleasant experience of attending several conducted by Winston's. The same woman (I'll call her "Cleopatra") has been in charge at every one of them. The other employees are pleasant enough when asked a question but are not allowed to determine the prices of unmarked items or to negotiate a price. Woe to the person who asks Cleopatra a question about an item or whether a price can be reduced - makes you wonder why she's in the business. The competition (there are several competitors) sometimes has quirky methods but is generally friendly, helpful and willing to negotiate or, if not, will politely decline. Framed artwork is labeled with a description of the item - original print, original art, etc. - but the labels are removed at the time of the sale supposedly because it is needed for "inventory". This leaves the purchaser with no record of how the piece was represented at the time of the sale. Most of the sale items are overpriced and the description of the quality is exaggerated. If you are going to shop these sales, be sure to know as much as you can about collectibles and decorative items so that you don't go home with a lot less than you think you're getting. I wish they would indicate in the estate sale ads that Winston's is running the sale so that I could avoid them. For me they are a waste of time. read more

I am the security officer for the Enderle Center and witnessed Winston speaking to a customer who worked for the city on the clean up of the river bed area where the homeless resided. The customer was the one who commented on the filth,27,000 pounds of human waste, drug abuse, syringes, and violence occurring in that area and was the one who made the comment in a joking matter to "shoot them". The negative comment made by Yelp reviewer Brenna N., is not factual nor does it reflect the attitude or the opinion of the owner and should be removed. read more

I had the pleasure of shopping today at Winston's Estate Gallery. My friend who is a doctor, has been shopping at Winston's year after year, for the past 15 years. He has told me such great things about this store for years, but I have never had the time to make the trip to see the store, as I live in Pacific Palisades. The inventory they carry is vast and very high end and the prices are very good. The store looks like a museum! Seriously, I don't think I have ever seen a store with so many exquisite things under one roof and I have travelled around the world. The store was decorated so beautifully and the owners of the store are so knowledgable and friendly.
