It's exciting to try similar types of food in different countries and see how they differ--in this case, It's Caffè does breakfast and brunch, and I had croissants on my mind.
Seems croissants tend to be sweeter in Naples and I saw them displayed with many sweet fillings like pistachio, hazelnut, and lemon custards, as well as the more common internationally-seen chocolate and almond varieties. Even their basic croissants had demerara sugar, powdered sugar sprinkled over, or a sweet glaze brushed on top.
It's (It's' ?) croissant was reasonably priced at €2.50 and while sweeter than I'm used to, wasn't so saccharine that I felt like I was eating dessert. Thumbs up on decent lamination which is always appreciated.
Aside from a moderate range of pastry options, the cafe also serves true brunch items like eggs, avo toast, breakfast bowls, and a variety of coffee drinks.
On a weekday morning at 9am, it wasn't too busy, I waited a few minutes in line and took my croissant to go. Seating is available in a separate room, left of the entrance; space looked sufficient for 20-25 people. My interaction with the staff was brief and neutral. read more
