A few years back, I failed at being my "own" stylist, failed miserably & sought out a professional to remedy my horror . IT'S NATURAL saved the day & I have been a loyal customer since. Due to the damage I caused, I had to go super short (1 1/2 inches). Now, my hair is about 3 inches BELOW my shoulder & as healthy as it's ever been. While I love wearing latches( I hate doing my own hair), it gives me a polished & elegant look. I'll start by saying that the women that work here are extremely friendly, and on a personality basis, I'd love to return and give them more stars. I went on a weekday and was in and out for my retwist in maybe 2 hours, which has never happened for me before. Woot! I had my appointment rescheduled a couple of times: I felt lucky to get an appointment about two days after my initial call, but that got canceled due to stylist emergency. I was accidentally told that I could reschedule for the next day, and when I showed up, was told that I was supposed to be told to come the following day. This was pretty annoying because I explicitly noted on the phone when rescheduling that I would rearrange my whole day to come in, and we each repeated the day for rescheduling multiple times. The owner DID turn this around by paying for my parking when I finally did come in for my appointment, and I consider that 10/10 service. I was really desperate to get my hair done when I came in, so I paid the price, but I find it pretty incredible that the price was more than twice what I paid for a wash and retwist living in the Bay Area. My hair is pretty long now, and the price for a retwist depends on length, which seems kind of odd because just the roots get retwisted. If something incredible happened in addition to the retwist, I would almost feel the price was justified, but the retwist was pretty standard -- they don't use clips, which I'm pretty used to. Also, my hair wasn't completely dry when I left, and I was told that the heat out that day would complete the drying. My hair did dry fine, and I was glad to be out of the salon faster than I have ever been in my life...... but I wouldn't have minded staying an extra hour or two if I could pay the price that I did when I lived in the most expensive area in the country. I have never met another woman of color that knows and takes care of Natural hair like Taylor. She teaches her assistants all of the knowledge she has learned over the years. They all take classes to update their work too. She has kept all of her clients for years. If you see a rude comment on here it's usually because the client is really on one. They fail to understand 'Its Natural' understands everyone's hair is different. They don't give you the basic wash and go. Taylor makes sure she caters to YOUR needs for YOUR hair. If you want your natural hair to grow and flourish , this is the salon for you. If you wanna bring your YouTube knowledge and keep the same broken edges and nonexistent hair growth because "you know better", this isn't the salon for you. Not a good place for braids. My braids only lasted 5 weeks. Not dipped properly charged 325 for the worst braids.

Had a poor outcome from attending this salon- hair took way too long to do(other clients were taken in front of me) hair was dry , tangled and greasy due to products. And to top that the style only lasted a day due to frizz. I could go into greater detail but this occurred many months ago and when I informed the stylist of my displeasure she refunded me money ASAP. It just so sad that natural hair styling in Colorado is so poor! I'm from the east coast where true natural stylist know what they are doing... and truly care about the finished product. Colorado truly needs natural hair care stylist!! As other reviews have stated, the pricing for retwists is dependent on the length of your locs. As someone who has had locs for over a decade, I was completely shocked when I was quoted $165 for a basic retwist. I didn't even bother to book an appointment. All around a pretty unpleasant experience , I had an "appointment" set for 8am to get my dreads retwisted . I got in at 8am and she was already helping a client which is no biggie so I wanted for a little and eventually she starts to help me . As she's starting to split and wash my hair another client comes in at 9am because he has an appointment as well. Ironically enough he's getting the exact same service I'm getting to a T. As soon as she's done washing my hair which only took about 10ish minutes, she starts helping the other gentlemen with dreadlocks and proceeds to do the same thing she did with me, after that she goes back to the original lady she was helping and starts washing and highlighting her hair. So at this point there's now 3 people in here and just 1 stylist attempting to juggle us all. At this point it's already 10am , 2 hours just to have my hair washed for 10 minutes basically . After that she proceeds to start twisting the guy's dreads who'd came in after me and skips me because " he had important things to do today." Lol don't we all? Saturday's are one of my only days off not like I had important stuff to do either . So after twisting his dreads , and while still cutting/washing this ladies hair I'm just left to sit in this chair for another hour. Here we are 12:00pm and the guy who came in AFTER ME FOR THE SAME SERVICE is mow paying to leave , and so is the 1st lady now (finally bless her poor soul), while somebody else is coming in for their 12pm appointment. After cashing everyone else out and eventually getting back to me while the other new person waits it's finally 12:30pm, for my 8am apportionment; but before we start she runs out to her car to make sure her parking spots okay. 5 minutes later she finally starts and puts her hands on my head only to heavily reeks of cigarettes which was soooo nasty, unfortunately cigarettes just don't sit well me and I found it really disgusting and on top of that who the hell wants that nasty stench deeply rolled into their hair ? I couldn't take it anymore after that, after waiting for 4 hours just to have to get up and leave the second she starts makes me sick. Luckily she didn't charge me for washing my hair for 10 minutes or for sitting for 4 hours , but honestly I would not recommend this to anyone looking to get their dreads twisted . The place was very dirty and unorganized and now I have to wait another week to get my hair twisted because every is booked on a Saturday afternoon who could imagine that. read more

I decided to wait a few weeks before writing this review because I did not want it to be overly emotional. I recently moved here from Atlanta; a city well-known for its abundance of highly-talented, trained, and professional hair stylists. After having all of my relaxed ends cut off and my hair tapered, I decided to try "It's Natural" for a shape up and rod set. I figured this should be easy enough since my hair had already been cut into a style. When I got to the salon, Tori and Tayler were very nice. The salon space was a little small, and to be honest, somewhat cluttered and disorderly. Tori, immediately washed my hair and applied a conditioning mask. we also talked briefly about what products I was currently using. After having my hair rinsed, she stated that she needed to "take a few bites of her lunch" and would return shortly before exiting the salon. Roughly 10 minutes later she returned and then immediately left the salon again without notifying anyone of where she was going. It must have been about 30 minutes that I sat in her chair with my hair dripping wet wondering if someone was going to finish my hair. Finally, after Tayler called Tori's cell phone and left a message did she advise that she had received a text from Tori who had gone to the hospital. At this point, there were 5 women in the salon and Tayler advised that she could do my hair, but only after she finished with her own clients. I told her I would not be able to wait that long and thankfully another client spoke up and said she could wait for Tayler to do my hair first. I explained to Tayler the services I was expecting to receive: a clean up or edge up to my hairline and a rod set. Tayler took a pair of scissors and proceeded to comb the hairs on my nape up and cut them with scissors. Then she applied copious amounts of setting lotion on my 4C hair and curled them with flexible perm rods. I sat under the dryer for 30-40 minutes, even though I know I need to sit under the dryer for at least a full hour for my hair to dry, before Tayler began removing some of the rods. She stated that some were still damp, and I asked if they would frizz. She advised that they shouldn't, then began applying more setting lotion to the rods that were still wet and re-rolling them. I went back under the dryer for another 30 minutes or so and then Tayler began taking the remaining rods out and separating my curls. Immediately, I began to see white flakes floating around my head every time she separated a curl. I asked what had caused the flakes and she stated it was the setting lotion. She then began spraying my hair with oil to help mask the flakes. The oil smelled bad and she ended up spraying so much that my hair was practically dripping. Plus, the flakes were still noticeable. The end result was disastrous and I was completely and utterly disappointed and shocked! I left the salon without paying and immediately went home to re-wash my hair. Not only did the style turn out horrendous, but I never received the edge/clean-up I had requested, only an uneven cut to nape hairline. I will say that I knew finding a decent salon for ethnic hair in a city like Denver would be difficult. But I still did not expect this level of unprofessionalism and ineptness. I definitely would not recommend "It's Natural" to anyone who is used to having their done by trained professionals. Customers should not have to suffer because the salon is having a bad day!! read more

I recently moved to Colorado from very urban areas and to no surprise had a very hard time finding someone that could maintenance my naturally curly, thick, course hair. After days of research and looking at other salons galleries I was not impressed. Most seemed to maintenance chemically processed hair which was even more alarming. I am very picky when it comes to allowing someone to tame my mane, but was extremely relieved when I found Taylor at Its Natural hair salon. As soon as I walked in I noticed that both Taylor and her assistants own hair was natural. The other 2 clients were also natural women receiving a similar service that I was anticipating. This made me confident that these women knew what they were doing. I was interested in getting permanent dye initially but after explaining to Taylor that my hair was virgin and I feared it becoming dry and brittle from the chemicals she suggested I start off with a semi permanent color (no bleach) so I took her advice and went with that. I received a wash, color, trim, and press out all for only $95! My hair was so silky and healthy and I received many compliments. I most recently went back for simple cornrows with weave added, and again received a wash, deep condition, semi press, then braids for $65! The clients, assistants, and Taylor are all friendly and welcoming. They do stack appointments but I do not mind patiently waiting for someone to quality service my hair. I am definitely a sold customer! Can't believe she doesn't have more reviews. I haven't seen many women of color in the Denver area with styles and hair health as good as this stylists clients! read more

I was hoping to find someone who could help me get my hair to look less tired and old and these wonderful ladies did a marvelous job of making my unruly mane look polished and professional. They also did a marvelous job with my daughter's hair by giving her a new color that really complements her coloring. Moving to Denver was really troubling, especially considering the relationship my hair has with the dry air. No matter how much moisture and sealant I used in my hair -- it would dry right up. When I did my big chop back in 2011 I wanted to loc my hair up but I was too nervous to deal with the stereotypes of dreads. I had such a difficult time finding a natural salon in Denver, I was so desperate to do something about my dry/brittle hair -- I flew to Chicago to get my hair done. I'm not a princess. I've been doing my own hair for over 8 years; however, my hair was so damaged, I needed professional assistance. Long story short...I found It's Natural after many phone calls. I started my loc journey on April 1st. Cost is a bit expensive...I paid $250 to start my locs (in two strand twists) and $95 to get my hair retwisted. I'm guessing that's the normal charge of such service. Oh yeah...Taylor and Dee are AMAZING women! I really enjoy hanging out with them. read more

I was visiting Denver for a week and needed to get my hair done. I found this salon on the internet after searching for a salon that specializes in ethnic hair. I called in the afternoon and was given an appointment the very next morning. When I arrived at the salon, I was welcomed by Tiffany, who was professional and thoughtful. She washed my hair and it was one of the best shampoos I've ever had! She has a very gentle touch, but when she started massaging my scalp---I was transported to another place and almost fell asleep. I was sad when it was over. Taylor curled and styled my hair and it looked shiny, healthy and bouncy when it was all done! I'll definitely be back the next time I am in town. read more
