I got my curly hair colored and cut by Raisa back in the summer and I'm still trying to recover from an absolutely terrible hair cut. The color was amazing, and I would definitely recommend Raisa for color and maybe cuts on straight hair, but it was very obvious she didn't know how to cut curly hair. I asked for the cut to be done while my hair was dry and she did; however, she went back and recut all of the layers when wet which not only made my hair WAY shorter than what I wanted, but none of the layers sit right on my curly hair. Long story short, I've been wearing my hair in a bun every day for almost 5 months and will be going to an experienced curly hair stylist when my hair is long enough to be cut again. read more

She gave me the exact color I wanted, which was no easy task! My highlights are perfectly natural and for once, I've found a color expert who is just as great at cutting! I had an awful experience here with their Stylist Diego. As a sole parent I rarely have time and money to take care of myself. I finally saved up and found Diego on Groupon. I called him to ask some questions about his balayage service that he advertised there and the first thing he says is "oh that campaign is not supposed to be up, I canceled it along time ago with Groupon" I replied with, "oh no! If you're not wanting to honor the Groupon price that's OK, I understand, as a small business owner myself who's ran Groupon campaigns in the past. I can find another stylist." After he hemmed and hawed he said that he would be good to honor that advertised price and made an appointment with me... I made sure to clarify that it was an appointment for the hair service not just a consult and he confirmed. I closed out over 3 hours of my work schedule to keep this appointment (so lost $). I arrived and we talked about how I like the balayage to look as I had it before but was way grown out. He got very frustrated and said that he didn't want to do my hair after all. He was unhappy that I had previously colored hair (who has virgin hair these days anymore?!). I was so upset! I told him that I had taken off from work to get this long service done while my daughter was at school. And that I don't get the chance to take care of my hair very often and that this was a really big deal for me. He was super rude and confronting. In reality, it felt like he didn't really want to do the service for the discounted price and this was his way of getting out of it. I asked to speak to a manager of the salon and waited for a long time and got the runaround. The best they could offer was for me to speak to the owner on the phone. The owner did not appear sensitive to this situation that wound up costing me so much money in lost work and no service to show for it. She reported that Diego admitted that he should've scheduled a consult before hand but that was it. No apologies, no way to compensate my loss or make it up to me, just a really bad attitude. I can't say anything about his haircuts as I didn't go to his salon, but I was trying to redeem my Google Offers coupon the day it was expiring b/c I hadn't needed a haircut until then -- I saw what I thought looked like a great deal on Google Offers and bought it for future use. I called to schedule an appointment and Mikael would not do it, even though I was super nice to him. He told me I had a long time to redeem it and, "well, I can't get you in today anyway." He never apologized once for the inconvenience and inability to make an exception. A huge part of the salon business is word-of-mouth and making good relations. I would never want anyone who spoke to me the way he did to ever cut my hair, or refer him to anyone I know, no matter if he's good at what he does. Also, based on his response to Kathy B., he can't write a sentence for the life of him and sounds like a huge drama queen that doesn't know how to run a professional business. read more

First and foremost, I would like to say that Casey is fantastic. She gave an excellent cut/highlight. However, I will never return here again. I purchased a living social deal that was worth $150 toward services at the salon. When I checked out, the owner charged me $175 which was $25 over what you are quoted if you call in and ask what that exact service would cost. Basically, the price is inflated if you use a LivingSocial or Groupon previously purchased. This to me is misleading and dishonest. I was in a hurry as I paid and didn't argue about the increase. That alone would have made me think. However, when I called back the next day to inquire about the "up-charge," the owner was rude and condescending and when he couldn't answer my question about why the salon would charge more depending on payment method he literally hung up on me. With that said, if you like being treated poorly and overcharged, this is the place to go! read more

I contacted this salon after seeing an amazing haircut on a friend and being told that Rebekkah at Michta was the stylist who had done it. Rebekkah took a lot of time asking about my hair and what I wanted (which I really appreciated due to the fact that I lost all my hair in 2019 as a result of chemo and it's grown out with a different texture since then and has been tough to style). We looked at a couple of photos and based on her comments, I could tell that she was incredibly knowledgeable, so I just told her to do what she thought would look best on me. I am so glad I trusted her! She gave me an amazing cut that looks good wet or dry, styled or unstyled, and I have received so many compliments! I am visiting Denver for the weekend for a family event. I was having a hair crisis and was desperate to get in to a salon to get my hair fixed. I had called multiple places and had appointments but I chose to come to Michta because of their quick and friendly demeanor. They brought me in their salon with 15 minutes of calling. I worked with the owner. She was so kind and confident that she would be able to help me get my hair to what I wanted. The entire staff was so accommodating, making sure I was comfortable, bringing drinks if I needed magazines, etc. The entire staff was so knowledgeable about their hair products they offered and suggested a deep conditioning treatment to being softness back to my hair (which has been lacking due to bleach). I have never felt so comfortable and confident in a hair salon and I will definitely be back!!! read more

I was in today with a Bloomspot deal for a haircut, color, and conditioning treatment. I arrived a little early an was seen a little late, which is no big deal. I understand how salons can get busy and appointments get bumped around. My appointment felt VERY rushed. My stylist took one galnce at the color I wanted and raced back to mix it. She was seeing another client at the same time as me so she quickly pasted on the color to my hair and asked me to sit in the corner while she finished up the with the other client. Not only did the color look much too dark on my head, but I could see in the mirror how stained my forehead was becoming with dye. The color I asked for (medium auburn) turned out to be dark chocolate brown and my stylist let me leave the salon with a stain above my eyebrow, all around my hairline, and also on the back of my neck and ears. I have a job interview in the morning and will have to scrub the dye off of my skin this evening. I honestly have done a better dye job at home with a box of color. I hope that this doesn't happen often at the salon, but I'm afraid I am not happy with what I paid for today. I got a careless dye-job and rushed customer service! read more

Getting my hair done if my favorite girlie service so when I find an amazing stylist I will NEVER cheat on her/him. I have been seeing Tiffany and she is great. Super friendly, always willing to listen to me when I am ready to make a change with my hair. She is easy to book with and does an amazing job. I saw her at her old salon and so glad that she is at Mikael's now. The vibe is so much better, I can actually hear Tiffany talk to me when she is doing my hair, no loud music like her old location. I am seeing her today for my roots and I can not wait. I have never had a problem with parking, I either go to the parking lot of just on the street. Had my first hair cut and color from Kasie DJ here today and she was great! She really listened to me and gave me some great advice as well. Love my color and cut. She used some techniques I've never had done before to create more volume and fullness. She is a very nice person as well who really seems to care that you are happy with her work. Plan on going back when I need a color touch up and trim. Parking is difficult and if you are getting services that might take longer than the 2 hr allowed at most meters, look for the kiosks that allow up to 3 hours (and take credit cards). First of all, I want to be clear.... I read all of the previous reviews tied to this salon but not all of them are even relevant anymore. The salon is under new management (fall of 2014) and her name is Galina Vol-Carlson (She gave me her card). When my partner and I arrived for our appointments with Galina, it was a bit tricky to find - it is upstairs and in the back of the building - so keep your eyes open! The salon was clean and the staff was very friendly. Galina was definitely the star of the show when we were there but I was watching some of the other stylists that were doing hair and I even told a gentleman stylist that his curly hair cut was awesome! As I said, my partner and I went into the salon together because we were only in town for a week (Christmas week) and his Dad was getting re-married so we needed to get cleaned up. Galina is great with men's cuts! My stylist in Dallas charges me $85 a cut and Galina was half that and I was more pleased with her cut than my stylists (time to re-think things). She also noticed my partner's dry scalp and offered to give him a scalp treatment that would solve his problem. We were spectacle at first but it worked! Thank God! Now back in Dallas, my best friend even commented on my new cut and asked where I got it done. I was devilishly happy to say it was an amazing stylists that he cannot steal. :-) The salon is on the up and up! You can tell that Galina has put in a lot of time and effort to make the salon inviting to guests and she was telling me some of her future plans. I am only sad that I can't see the salon morph into her vision as we don't live in state.... but we will be back. 100% guaranteed! read more

Worst experience ever. Mikael claims to have worked with some of the best in the industry; what he doesn't tell you is that he worked for these pros for a very limited time and in the capacity of an assistant. His advertising is misleading bordering on fraudulent. I am still suffering the consequences of letting him cut my hair. All I asked for were long layers...something very basic for an experienced stylist. What he did instead was texturize my entire head so that the ends are wispy and paper thin. I found a 'real" experienced stylist who was appallled with what Mikael did to my hair. Unfortunately, it may take up to a year for my hair to get back to the condition it was in before this drastic mistake! DO NOT LET MIKAEL PADILLA CUT YOUR HAIR!!!! read more

My experience at Michta salon was awful. They have a rude staff with horrible customer service. The salon is absolutely filthy. There is hair everywhere and no one bothers to clean it up. The front desk lady was incredibly rude and doesn't bother to greet customers. She walked past me without even saying 'hello' and she gave me dirty looks constantly. The parking lot is horrendous and there is barely any parking in the lot. You are forced to pay for parking on the street, not to mention, the paid street parking is only 2 hours. read more

If I could somehow put 0 stars, I would. The experience I had with Mikael was horrifying... and I didn't even make it into the salon! I bought a livingsocial deal to get keratin treatment done, apparently Elicia Valdez would be providing the service. After calling the salon for the 3rd time requesting to schedule, I finally got a call back from Mikael. He was rude and told me to stop calling him as supposedly Elicia had tried calling me 3 times.... meanwhile I had 0 missed calls or messages from her (and he obviously had no issue getting through). I took her number and called myself only to wait 3 days for a response which was then through text message. She thought it was appropriate to call me "honey" repeatedly, which I find quite condescending and inappropriate but dealt with it because I really just wanted to get my hair done and be done with them. In the messaging, she scheduled me for a Saturday at 1pm. Then 3 days later, she calls me and tells me she is full that Saturday and offers an appt the following week. Fine... whatever. The come the Friday she is texting me to confirm the appt, I reminded her that she told me I did not have one and would be in the following Wednesday. Apparently that warranted a "feel better honey" response... I wasn't sick but maybe getting a little sick of them. So Saturday comes and Mikael has the audacity to call me around 2:30pm all full of attitude about why I missed my appt?! In me detailing the multiple contacts with Elicia where she seemed to have a different story each time, I asked for clarification about when I would be seen and what this was so complicated. The thing is, I know I was polite and didn't raise my voice... I was in a hospital at the time and couldn't be aggressive if I wanted to (trust me I did!). Clearly, Mikael has a thing or two to learn about customer service. He immediately went into attack mode, stating he was going to "defend my stylist no matter what" and told me I had to decide right then if I wanted to cancel meeting with them. He was so obnoxious that I canceled it on the spot and got a refund from livingsocial. All in all, this salon was a nightmare to deal with. I would never give business to someone who seems to think he can talk to people the way he does. Obviously if you need a livingsocial deal for advertising, you're not doing so great. You'd think he'd appreciate business that comes his way but unfortunately he has instead prompted me to post my first review of any place, ever. read more
