Generally Black Friday sales (both online and in store) have been pretty sucky this year and it's turned me off from shopping because the discounts just aren't there. The best discounts I've seen so far were here. Sadly, over a decade ago we used to see discounts averaging around 70-90% (minus the jacked up pricing) and that truly felt like a Black Friday deal. How I long for those days again!!! Just a few weeks ago the store offered 50% off on their holiday boxed chocolates online and given the current sale climate, this was the best deal I could find this year. I picked up 2 boxes and felt they were totally worth the price for luxury chocolate. I also gifted a few chocolates myself (in store) from their Wall of Chocolate and I really liked the big selection of both milk and dark chocolate. My only gripe with the place is that currently they don't serve food and drink. I was ready to buy some hot chocolate however I was told by the associates that they plan to sell by January/February 2026. I've already tried some of their chocolate and the quality is definitely there. I also like the fact that their products are true to their motto, More Cacao, Less Sugar. That's always a plus for me.

Now onto the real review! This new shop opened last week and I really wanted to go on opening day but the line was out the door for the entire duration of business hours and I can totally understand why! I had the chance to stop in today and I am so glad I did! We were greeted by the friendliest staff and immediately sparked up a conversation about the premium quality ice cream that they serve. It was really fun to learn that the ice cream is made in Illinois. What I also loved about the shop is that there's no big fan fair, just simple and delicious ice cream and a selection of candy! The shop is small but mighty offering vanilla, chocolate, or twist ice cream in either a cup or cone and sprinkles or no sprinkles! To learn about the history of where the ice cream comes from and the many taste tests it took to finding the perfect sprinkles from Canada, what a fun ice cream date spot. Also the pricing is spot on, you can't go anywhere nowadays to get two regular ice creams with sprinkles for $11! I am so happy that this little shop is now part of the Glen Ellyn downtown scene.
