Cool place in the midst of touristy SF!! They have some neat giant candy here, which kind of reminds me of Dylan's Candy Bar! The prices are about $3.50 per lb, so it's just a tad more expensive than your average candy store at the mall. read more

Plenty of old school candy, weird concoctions, and the staples that can be mixed and matched into plastic bags. This place's selection isn't as extensive as Z. Cioccolato, but it's still decent, and this place brings back the old memories with candy like Clark Bars. Took a walk to Fisherman's Wharf and just wondered around. Never seen this store before so it must've opened just recently. Some really fun and cool stuff (that you normally wouldn't buy). 5 POUND Gummy Bear for $39.99 or how about a giant Gummy Worm!!! Hello Kitty stuff! A 2 POUND Rice Krispy snack! Candy Cigarettes, Candy Dots, Plushes/Pillows, Quality name brand Candy by the 1/4lb or lb ($3.24 or $12.96, respectively), String CANDY Bra and panties (yummy OR ewww), Giant Jawbreakers that can be used as a weapon, Huge "Party" Box of Pop Rocks, etc. Everything is priced "higher" than normal, but many items are great gift ideas. Staff was friendly and was trying hard to maintain everything while all the kids (young and old) were messing up the place! Didn't buy anything this trip, but fun nonetheless! read more

Pretty neat little candy store. Although, PARENTS BEWARE, they do carry some wildly inappropriate candy items, like edible bras right in eye shot of the kiddos. Their bulk sweet section is good, but again pricey. We filled less than a quarter of a bag and it was over $11. read more

This place is a kid's dream. Candy, Candy, Candy, and all over sized and over priced. Bright lights and novelty candy items in the window will catch your eye and draw you into the store. The smell of sugar and candy from your childhood will entice you. This place is such a novelty but worth the visit. Customer service was great and you can tell they enjoy their jobs. Who wouldn't be happy high off sugar all day? They even have a wine glass that holds a whole bottle of wine, blinged out mace, and the cutest Hello Kitty stuff. read more

Do NOT buy bulk candy here. It's a total tourist trap and you can buy just about anything locally or online. There is no monitoring of the bins. It was disgusting to watch unsupervised children shove their hands in the bins to load their bags of bulk candy. Avoid the bulk items here at all cost. read more

Was there couple weeks ago. The cashier (only one) was ringing up two ladies and I was next in line. I was only buying two small bags of candies and the wait lasted very long time because the cashier kept chit chatting with those two ladies ahead of me. She could have just ring them up and move onto the next customer in line, save the chat for later when all the customers have been taken care of. Just when I thought the cashier is ready to ring me up, those two inconsiderate ladies decides to buy more stuff so the cashier has to ring them up one more time. I've had it enough at that moment and so I've gave back the candies and just left the store without buying anything. read more

Awesome throwback candy in ridiculously big sizes and varieties (Seriously, there is a Snickers bar as big as my arm and a ton of gummy varieties). I was a kid again in this shop. Candy galore EVERy WHERE, all being held in large see-through glass jars. It's clean and bright inside, and that made me feel welcome to explore their goods. They sell novelty stuff like joke coffee mugs and a literal "shot" gun for drinking. They also sell flasks and other drinking stuff. I didn't believe it until I saw it but they sell a huge gummy worm inside! That thing was 3 or 2 feet long! Overall it's kind of expensive for candy. The candies sold inside are not very unique one-of-a-kind-sold-only-here kind of deals. Like, I can buy a candy shark at 7-11 and chocolate covered raisins at Costco. I did however enjoy their rock chocolate. They are tiny pebble looking chocolates coated in colors to disguise their chocolate interiors. I never saw that before and I'd recommend getting a bag of it for parents who like to keep their candy to themselves. read more

I've mentioned the following statement to several friends, but after my visit to "It''Sugar", it bears repeating to the online community: If the Betty Ford Clinic ever does rehab for sugar addiction, I'm taking a month off and heading there. "It'Sugar" is a great place with every imaginable, mouth-watering morsel of sugary goodness you can imagine. I brought my kids into their yesterday and it was such a fun experience. A woman named Maria helped us she was so awesome. She told me if I bought the Crickets she would eat one with me and she was a woman of her word. I definitely would recommend this candy store to anybody and if you get the chance to deal with Maria you're a lucky person. Similar to the one at Universal Studios that I have been to. I just looking at the really giant portions of my favourite candies. When I mean giant I mean sizes that are as tall as I. Oddly I was more fascinated by the candy themed items and knick knacks and less about the candies themselves. I bought some dehydrated marshmallows, the kind that you get in Lucky Charms. As a kid I used to get my mom to buy me the cereal and than I would just pick over the marshmallows....now I have a whole bag of them. Now I can make my own DIY gluten free lucky charms at home. The guy at the til was totally out to lunch. He forgot to ring up my chocolate, let alone forgot that I had it. read more

Totally do not understand the hype behind this store. Sure, it's candy, but there are so many cheaper alternatives! I'm told that it tastes fresher/better, but you can easily fill up a bag that will cost you $20 for various candy. If you switch to a different container, you'd get way too much candy (which is so bad for you!!) Low rating I guess just because it's not my thing. I only go in when I'm with friends. It's Sugar is a very cute and fun place to visit. Unique ideas and great old and new candies. Truly eye candy!

I didn't really find this place to be anything too special. I'm in the SF area a lot and I've only walked by It's Sugar before. Finally went in and I really like the selection of candy and chocolates they have. Some flavors ive never seen before. I bought some white chocolate break up, peanut and regular M&M's, mint white chocolate hershey kisses looking things, and pre-packed peanut cluster. The M&M's tasted stale, white chocolate thingy was very sweet with a hint of white chocolate, the mint white chocolate was good, peanut cluster was good too. It bothers me how the bins are unattended and no one really watches them to make sure people dont just stick their hands in their and touch all the sweets or children dont open the bins and pick out candy for sampling. Thats a sanitary issue for me..but i guess if you really want your candy it doesnt matter. It is in a very touristy part of SF so expect to pay tourist prices with lots of overhead and this place to get packed during peak hours. 3 stars for being just like every other candy store i've been to BUT with lots of fun cool stuff to look at while you're there. I easily get distracted by shiny or colorful things so I had a good time looking at merchandise in the corner of the store. read more

This place is awesome (for adults) the music was great, the employees were in a good mood and having fun and making the customers feel excited about being here. This place is amazing, and full of giant life size candy. They have almost every candy ever invented!! The place is eye catching , big and Bright and the associates defiantly make you have an awesome experience. The only down fall of the store is the manager,I got her name from an associate working , her name is Tresa I believe. She is so RUDE to customers, she replys with "WHAT"and "I Don't Know". I even saw her be rude to a little girl who stepped on her foot on accident. She called the little girl a "Little Shit" and that just broke my heart because I have children of my own. From the outside looking in all the associates have a good time on the sales floor and dance,interact with customers but everytime that Tresa character came back on the floor everyone who worked there face turned upside down, the vibe was broken you can tell they hate her. I wish those girls Goodluck and keep their heads up, it must be a fun job to work at, hopefully that manager of there's find another job she is actually happy in. read more
