Only 1x per year...the Chocolate Whoopie Pie! Would you be willing to share?

Fine chocolate for gifting or for yourself! It's great that Micheal Recchiuti's shop is here at the Ferry Building Marketplace. Easy to buy my favorites like the S'More's Package (dark chocolate coating with a soft homemade marshmallow on top of a crisp graham cracker) or a bag of Milk Chocolate Graham Crackers. For the chocolate-lover, this shop should be the #1 destination. Delicious!

We purchased a couple of boxes of chocolates, one was truffles with caramel inside and the other was the key lime pears. A bit disappointed in the amount of chocolate you get based on the price tag. I really didn't care for the key lime pears but the caramel truffles were delicious. Glad that the caramel ones were the box that we gifted as they were good!! Tried it once and not sure if I can justify spending that much on a chocolate which was good but not the best I have tried...

Recchiuti Confections never disappoints as gifts for self, friends or loved ones. Each box is delightfully curated with locally handmade chocolates for the savory or sweet tastebuds, pairings. Be sure to sample, stop by a local favorite! Grazie mille, Recchuiuti! You have me for life.

The excellent quality, petite creamy dark chocolate Champagne Truffles are made with Blanc de Noirs and heavily dusted with powdered sugar. The latter does make them a bit "messy" to hold. Also, I would not consider the 16 piece box giftable as the truffles are all wrapped together in a plastic bag inside the box, which significantly diminishes the presentation. I find Teuscher's Champagne Truffles are far superior in every respect.

My coworkers bought me the black box for my birthday and I was super excited to try this chocolate brand. I thought they were good but not my favorite. Flavor preferences were the peppermint and the Kona coffee. Overall the bonbon flavor combinations were a little unusual and didn't necessarily complement each other but they were certainly interesting to try.

    Burnt Caramel Hazelnut Bar

Fun little chocolate shop in the Ferry Building in SF! Decided to give it a go after looking at their selections -- in particular, the Burnt Caramel Hazelnut caught my eye. This bar in particular is a 45% dark milk with (as described) pieces of caramel and hazelnut. Overall taste was very smooth although I feel the bar would have been better at a 60% or even potentially a 70% instead of the 45%. 45% is too sweet and doesn't provide a good enough backdrop for the caramel pieces. Pricing at $11 a bar isn't absurd but definitely a premium.

    Nice creamy and delicious

Wonderful and tasty chocolates. Rich and decadent. The person who helped me was very nice. Well versed in his business and very helpful. The place is nicely decorated and very appealing. It is a great place in a very good location.

Saw this store front and spotted these sweet treats. Decided to buy for my kids, who recently had them in Paris and these did not disappoint. My kids said they tastes almost exactly like the ones we had over there! The only difference is the size. If I could make a suggestion, make the candies a little thicker and there will be more balance between sugar and the actual jelly. That was my children's only complaint. I would definitely come back to get this again and perhaps try some of their chocolates as well! Lady at the counter was very nice and accommodating as I was in a rush.

Look at the artistry. Look at those colors. Those designs. Lick the photo and don't you taste the selfishness. Smell it. Caress it. Eat it.

I discovered this chocolate company (which is really an understatement) in an article in the NYTimes column WIRECUTTER, which named it its top BOXED chocolate confections of 2024. Wow, indeed it was incredibly delicious, esoteric, explosions of taste and texture in your mouth, and oh yes, very very very expensive. But it was worth every sinful tiny bite and lick. I ordered three boxed chocolates, two intended for gifts for very special people, and very large boxed chocolate for myself and husband. I never did tell my husband how much it cost, because he would have looked at me with that look of "what, are you crazy?" and I would have said "yes, crazy in love with you, after 50 years of being together, and I wanted us/you to experience this very special chocolate". Frankly, I did not think that the two couples who were gifted Recchiuti, as one couple shoved them down their fat mouths so quickly, as opposed to savoring each bite and stretching out for weeks. All they said was "yeah, it was good and we finished it", Well dears, no more Recchiuti gifts for you! The other couple, or 1/2 of the couple, said "yes, I read the artcile you sent me (from NYTimes), and "where do you find these very special things?" I think she appreciated it, or at least was blown away with the price. I don't think she will get any more from me either. And to the person/s who states "do not order on-line", blah blah blah...I ordered on-line, the process was simple, artistic, creative. I received notices via email each step of the process, tracked the chocolate from start to my home, and the carton arrived safe, secure, not damaged, fresh, and sinfully decadent. Our large box lasted more than month hidden away on a top shelf in our kitchen closet. Why? So long or short a time? Well, I allowed my husband, of course, to eat as much as he wanted, and I curtailed my tasting to a few times a week and only one piece at a time. As I said, it is very special. And very expensive. GO FOR IT. I'm just a simple guy from BROOKLYN, NY who retired at age 55, am now 74, and must know a thing or two about life, living it well, and sins and chocolate. (I'll see if I have any phtos).

We were visiting from Georgia and stopped in the shop at the Ferry building on a whim. $100 worth of the most amazing chocolate later, we made a point to swing back by before leaving town! The service both times was impeccable, friendly, and informative. The chocolate is so pure and sweet and...perfection. My personal favorite was the banana caramel chocolate. Highly recommend!

I was offered a sample of the Rosemary olive oil truffle and it was soo smooth and just a hint of Rosemary coming through. I purchased the Noir box, but wish I purchased more because these truffles are unique and each flavor is a different experience. I was greeted when I entered and the young lady discussed the differences between the boxes I asked about. It is located in the Ferry building and can be missed if it is a busy day. I returned on a weekday and noticed the crowd was smaller and I did not feel rushed while browsing.

Storefront. Turn right when you enter the Ferry building and walk about halfway down the hallway. Store is on the right side.

Gourmet chocolate shop in the Ferry building. After sampling a couple flavors, I decided on the box of Champagne Truffles ($50 for 34 pieces) and their Classic Sampler ($16 for 4 pieces). Note that all sampler boxes are prepackaged, so unfortunately, you can't pick and choose what pieces you want included. Chocolates were smooth and made well. Reminded me a bit of Michael Misher chocolates in the style, flavor and presentation.

The treats were tasty, but on the pricier side. I believe the pricing reflects the quality of the chocolate used in the products, so to me, the pricing is justified. The outer shell of the canelé had a nice crunch, but the inside actually reminded me of a chocolate brownie, and was less custardy than your typical canelé. Despite not being super traditional, I still really enjoyed the treat. With the chocolate chip cookie, I loved the giant chunks of semi-sweet dark chocolate embedded within it. I appreciate that the cookie itself wasn't overly sweet. With most cookies, I usually can only tolerate having a few bites, or need to have a coffee in hand to enjoy it, but I didn't feel like that was the case here: both treats were delicious. Overall, I would definitely stop by Dandelion Chocolate again if I'm looking for a well-crafted, sweet treat.

Our tour guide (forgot his name...!) was so welcoming as he greeted each of us and walked us through the factory. We started with a quick overview of Dandelion Chocolate's history and a handful of samples :3 The actual workshop was just around the corner, hosted in an airy kitchen space. We were given a rundown of the chocolate-making process and the locally-sourced toppings before being invited to create our own bars, by pouring warm chocolate into the molds and quickly adding our choice flavors before they hardened. YUMMMM I may have had more than a few samples as we decorated :3 All throughout, the smell of rich chocolate enveloped us like a warm hug... Once our bars were in the fridge, our tour guide took us to an adjacent meeting room where we tasted hot cocoa and learned about cocoa bean harvesting. Zipped through Q&A about the factory-- passed by so fast! We were back in the room to crack open our finished bars. All except my dad's came out intact (broke into 3 pieces!), but our guide apologized profusely and gifted us a complimentary bar as a token of apology...! My dad was of the mindset that broken or whole, it all tastes the same (lolol) but it was a kind gesture nonetheless :') We stuck around to taste some of Bloom cafe's ice cream offerings, which were phenomenal! Truly a great spot to appreciate fine chocolates. We can't wait to come back for another event!!

I really like that you can choose exactly how many of each flavor you want in your box. I didn't realize that before, but it's a great option because you could literally get one of everything if you wanted to try them all. I chose orange, citron/lemon, caramel, earl grey, espresso, raspberry, and hazelnut. There was also a vegan raspberry option since the regular raspberry had sold out for the day, and honestly you couldn't tell the difference. It was delicious. I also tried the lemon in store, and the raspberry was my favorite. One small thing is that once they're bagged up, it can be a little hard to tell which flavor is which since they look pretty similar on the outside. Not a big deal, just something to keep in mind if you're trying to remember what's what. The owner mentioned he's had the shop for 30 years, which you can feel when you're in there. He took the time to neatly tie up the box and even gave me two complimentary pieces. The shop itself is tiny and charming with a good variety of flavors.
