It says I'm getting older with spina bifida and I've had a lot of recent health concerns. After dealing with cancer in 2023, follow-up care revealed the presence of a nice collection of kidney stones. My oncological urologist referred me to Dr. Rivera, a member of the same IU Health - Urology practice who specializes in kidney stones. As the previous doctor had completed all the necessary exams and tests, Dr. Rivera could eventually pick things up and move forward fairly quickly (though there was a couple month wait for the actual procedure). I went in for surgery this past week (Lithotripsy was not an option for me) and spent one night inpatient. The surgery itself went quite well. I'm currently home recovering. I made it known early on that I needed trauma-informed care due to my background. Dr. Rivera did a nice job of making things happen including ensuring an available female anesthesiologist. Dr. Rivera explained things well and took time to answer questions. He leans toward the cautious side and was obviously aware of my history. We had one appointment prior to the actual surgery date and will have another one in a month or so. He made it known that he was experienced with ostomies (which I have) and spina bifida (which I also have). If anything, I think the trauma piece threw him off a bit, though he adapted well. My discharge instructions were clear. I also appreciated that he actually visited the morning after surgery - sometimes at IU, you only get the resident (who also visited). If this review were based solely on surgery performance, it would be a 5-star review. However, as is often true with IU for me, there were a couple administrative glitches. First, I was scheduled for a "virtual" appointment with him for pre-op. Nearly the entire world recognizes virtual as meaning electronic, however, this ended up being a telephonic visit. Theoretically, this could have been better if made more affordable. However, my insurance (one of Indiana's leading insurers and one he should have been well aware of) doesn't cover telephonic visits and thus was denied. I ended up with a full office visit cost that was really unwarranted considering it was his office that scheduled it virtually. So, that's something I'd watch for as I don't know too many insurance companies that will pay for a phone call. In fact, I've never had a physician charge for one (including my other urologist in his same practice). That was a healthy out of pocket expense that didn't make me happy. Also, I spent far too long in recovery because there were no beds (and was told at one point I could be there all night). This wasn't the doctor's fault, of course, but my attitude is simple - don't do the surgery if you can't actually treat the patient. My attitude with IU tends to be "Great clinicians, horrible administrative policies." In some ways, that's true here and it's definitely what keeps this from being a 5-star experience. However, I refuse to go below 4-stars - quite honestly, the surgery went really well and addressed significant concerns quite well. He did the job I needed him to do - he's knowledgeable, incredibly personable, and adapts to the individual's needs. It would easily be 5-stars if IU's own policies and procedures would back up his quality care.

I was referred to Dr. Baughman by the Community North Emergency Room following a bout with severe…read moreabdominal pain finally led me to follow-up and seek assistance after a few months of on-again, off-again issues. The culprit was my gall bladder and the recommendation was to get rid of that sucker. Having already had two feet amputated in my life, I don't take getting rid of body parts lightly. That said, I was in pretty horrible pain. I was scheduled for an appointment with Dr. Baughman, a general surgeon with the Community Health Network who has a specialty in advanced laparoscopic and intra-abdominal surgery. Being that I was in a relative crisis, his team got me into the office quickly and he wasted no time in recommending removal of the gall bladder. He explained things in a way that were both complex yet easily understood - in other words, he used layman's terms without actually talking down to me. As an abuse survivor, I seldom feel completely comfortable with male physicians despite having had numerous over the years. Dr. Baughman's casual demeanor and compassionate approach calmed down my usual anxieties and made me feel like I could actually handle this journey. I was scheduled for a short but important trip. Dr. Baughman medicated me well and scheduled my surgery for the day after my return. It was a level of consideration I deeply appreciated. Where Dr. Baughman elevated himself from a good physician to a great one was in the day of the surgery itself. The night before the surgery, I was beyond alarmed (actually terrified) to have a dream where I died during surgery. I hadn't intended to share this dream, but was admittedly still anxious when I arrived at the outpatient center and casually mentioned it to the nurse. Quite honestly, I expected it would simply be laughed off. It wasn't. When Dr. Baughman arrived in the exam room, he immediately addressed my concerns with sincerity and honesty. In fact, he offered me the chance to reschedule the surgery because he was concerned about my level of anxiety. I think he went down to Risks 101 and really explained the entire process and was nothing short of respectful, compassionate and patient. It was exemplary medicine. I had the surgery, which was a little more complicated than expected, and experienced that same level of compassion and patience in a couple of follow-up appointments. The problem was successfully addressed and Dr. Baughman displayed a high level of knowledge and care throughout the entire journey. I would easily and wholeheartedly recommend him.

I had a horrible, disappointing and unprofessional experience during my visit with Fadi Wehbi. Not only was the he disrespectful, but he rushed through the appointment without allowing me to ask questions. When I tried to seek clarification on my health concerns, I was brushed off and told to save my questions for the next appointment. This lack of attentiveness and dismissive attitude left me feeling unheard and undervalued, and disrespected as a patient. I would not recommend Fadi Wehbi to anyone seeking professional and thorough medical care. This guy shouldn't be allow to practice as a doctor. Truly a horrible experience.

Even though I am just beginning my recovery, I have a long way to go. The first day was an essential day for me, and want to give a glorious shout out to Lisa Reed. She was my recovery nurse with an upbeat attitude and made me feel as comfortable as I possibly could be. She is extremely knowledgeable and set the pace for my attitude towards wanting to get healthy. With the care of the staff and how well my recovery is going, I would highly recommend this place for others who experience the same issues I was experiencing. Thank you for the outstanding job!

We were there 9-5 but hubster was able to sleep first time in days after arriving home. They took tests, had a cat scan, and the doctor kept trying different meds while consulting with the neurologist who came up with a cocktail of meds. Not all caregivers are the same, as I observed others that day, but we were blessed. Now on to day 2 and hopeful for healing...

I'm still giving Saxony a good rating because overall I would say it is the best hospital I have…read morebeen to but I need to update to share my last experience about 2 weeks ago. First of all, more than once (2-3 times recently probably) something has gone wrong with a lab test and either they forgot to test for part of what they meant to in the first place or it got contaminated and had to be redone. I understand things happening because we live in a world with germs, but having to come back multiple times because they "forgot to do the 'sensitivity' part of a (culture and sensitivity) urine test" is ridiculous. Sometimes it feels like the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing. All they need to do is read the order from the doctor to find out what needs to be done, and make sure it all gets done. When I first got there, I was called up to the check-in desk and the process was started to check me in, but they were backed up with patients (the receptionist's words were, "I'm going to go ahead and do your registration out here too because they are swamped back at the windows"--after checking in at the front desk there is usually no wait to go down the hall to the window to register). After standing at the desk for about 5 minutes--maybe more, I'm not sure--I was told to go have a seat in the lab waiting area because the computer was freezing up and they couldn't complete the registration process. They would call me up when it unfroze. After sitting there for another 5 minutes or so, another patient walked over, obviously having been told the same thing, and whispered under her breath, with a roll of her eyes, "hurry up and wait!" :-D After just a few minutes waiting there, I was called back by the tech, after sorting out the confusion as to why I didn't yet have my check-in bracelet or stickers. The tech who took me back obviously wasn't extremely happy to be there (or she was feeling the stress of the front desk) because when she took me down the hall she didn't even verify my name or birthdate for the computer system as they usually do, and she practically threw the specimen cup at me and sent me on my way across the hall, without offering to hold the door or help me carry it (I use forearm crutches to walk, and although I am perfectly capable of carrying things like that the courteous gesture is always appreciated). The second reason I am lowering my rating from this last visit is because of the restroom. Every time I have used the lab restroom for a test, it has been almost spotless--no trash on the floor, clean/dry sink and surrounding area, soap and paper towel dispenser full. This time, however, none of that was true. There was water around the edge of the sink, the paper towel dispenser was empty, so I had to dry my hands on my pants, there was a giant trash bag full of trash sitting ON TOP OF the waste basket, and (this might have been the grossest part--it has happened a few other times) there was a full specimen cup in the metal receptacle when I opened it to put mine in! The lab techs had obviously not checked before I went in to make sure they got everything. I don't know if this had been an extra busy day (I think it was mid-afternoon on a Friday that I was there), if they were understaffed or what, but no one wants to use a restroom in that condition. This was definitely not the best visit I have had here but I love this hospital for other reasons so overall these are not enough reasons to turn me away. I just hope they work on figuring out how to handle really busy days with high volumes of patients.

First, we found that the office had been relocated. My family had not received a call or email to notify that the practice had moved. Luckily, we had given ourselves plenty of time. When we arrived at the new location we were greeted with, "Your appointment has been canceled." The attitude with the office staff was, "And it's actually your fault that you didn't know we had moved or that your appointment had been canceled." I was struck that no one offered a simple apology. We are easy-going folks. We understand that mistakes happen in busy medical office. Please work on your approach to customer service.

Why is it so hard to talk to someone for a simple question? Automated service is of no use because…read morethey don't have the option to speak to someone for a simple question. When you try one of the options they give you and you get a hold of someone, they just pass you off to somebody else that can't answer your question. There's no use in calling a specific office because it's the same number for all the offices. ‍‍. The Dr's and nurses were great but the automated service and office staff are about as useless as crutches on a legless person.

He is located close to Naab Road and Ascension St. Vincent Hospital on 86th Street. Parking isn't an issue with a large, free parking lot and the building is wheelchair accessible with automated door buttons. Scheduling appointments are easy, wait times on phone and in waiting room is normally short. The office environment is comfortable and the staff is friendly, efficient and responsive. They offer pre-registration, which I highly recommend, as it saves time at your appointment. The office requires face masks and follows all the Covid-19 safety guidelines. Dr. Ludwig is professional but comfortable and amiable. I had a surgical procedure 3 years ago and it went very well. He is respectful, listens well, explains procedures so I can understand and answers all my questions. He always spend an appropriate amount of time at my appointment and doesn't seem rushed. I'm having another procedure in 3 weeks and trust him totally. And those who are interested in his credentials here are the highlights. He joined Urology of Indiana in 2010. Dr. Ludwig graduated with High Distinction from the University of Nebraska with a B.S. in Biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine in Iowa City. He completed his internship and residency in Urology at Scott & White Hospital, Texas A & M Health Science Center in Temple, Texas. He is affiliated with Ascension, St. Vincent Hospital and Hancock Regional Hospital. He sees patients in many offices around the Indianapolis Metro areas in addition to offering two integrated Cancer Center for Prostate Cancer. If you need a Urologist I recommend Dr. Ludwig and pre-register to save time.

Fortunately everyone was very patient and very good at explaining things to me. As a single woman, I had the desire to be a mom and at 40 years old I didn't want to miss my chance. Dr. Jarrett explained the challenges to me and the process we would take. I got pregnant on the first try with donor sperm. Unfortunately I did not make it past eight weeks. The second try didn't work out, but the third try was a success and I am now the Mom of a beautiful baby boy. When I looked for fertility Doctors, Dr. Jarrett's name rose to the top, with someone even commenting "He has a lot of babies named after him." I am so glad I chose to go with Dr. Jarrett and his team. Through the joy, sorrow, tears and laughter, it was a great experience!
