I called to see what the deal was. Found out that my appointment was for 3:30pm but I was required to check in by 3:10pm. Told her I could most likely be there by 3:20pm, which wasn't good enough. Asked to reschedule, but apparently that is the latest appointment of the day. Would have been nice to be told that at the time the appointment was made. So now I am forced to find a new place for my mammograms... wow... 10 minutes

Once I was FINALLY called back, they insisted they preform an xray on the complete OPPOSITE end of my body where the MRI needs to be, for a condition involving fragments of NON METAL but they wouldn't believe me that I know what I'm talking about. Then, after that, they wanted to Cat Scan the area...all before the scheduled MRI. Like. No. So I gathered my things and I left without a word because I'm no bodies dollar sign. I'll live with my arthritis pain if I would have to encounter people and places like this again for treatment. Never again. Less than 1 star, for sure.

Instead, I feel like they genuinely care about their patients. If you've never been to the Eagle Highlands facility, you'll be surprise at how quickly you get in and out. Even with outpatient surgery and procedures, they typically meet the timeliness given. Eagle Highlands is easy to find off of 465 West and the 38th Street exit. Turn onto Shore Drive (by McDonald's) and continue to Eagle Highland facility on the left. The secret all first timers need to know is to go to the second entrance when you turn into the parking lot. This applies to labs, radiology, and outpatient procedures. Look for 6850 above the entrance. They have a large parking lot with many handicapped parking spaces and a patient drop-off entrance area with automated doors. I've had several procedures completed over the years from endoscopies, colonscopies, MRI's, x-rays, bone density tests and labs. I've never had an issue with any of the services provided. The lab I was using at Georgetown Plaza closed and I've now started using the lab at Eagle Highlands. Registration went smoothly and quickly and the tech was wonderful as many consider me a hard stick. My wait time for the tech was approximately 10 minutes. I'm not sure why I wasn't currently using the lab since I use their other services. Regardless, I'll continue going to Eagle Highlands since IU West Hospital lab wait time can be more than an hour and always packed. I no longer dread when labs are due.

There were mistakes in pre-populated info that I wasn't able to fix to complete the registration. They also asked questions that I thought that my physician should have answered, because I didn't know the answer. Any way, I filled out 3/4 of the forms on line, but that didn't matter, because I had to fill them out again when I arrived. Plan 20 minutes to fill out forms. The nurse was professional, friendly, thoughtful and knowledgable. She carefully explained the procedure and what to expect. The tech was efficient and helpful. The offices are immaculate (I think they just moved into the facility). The scanning equipment (seems to be) state of the art. The scans were completed in the promised amount of time and I was allowed to leave. I think they send results to my physician. I guess I should have asked, but it would have been nice if they told me. Minor suggestions, they could provide more reading material for waiting (or tell me to bring my own). Some art on the walls would also be a nice distraction. And coffee/water for waiting family members would be nice. All in all, they get the important part right.

Hendricks Regional Health - Mammogram day

Hendricks Regional Health is really about what you'd expect from what qualifies as a "regional"…read morehospital. It offers vastly superior care to the majority of Indiana's county or rural hospitals, however, for those one county away in Indy it doesn't begin to compare to most Indianapolis hospitals and can't handle near the complexity of Indy's larger medical networks. My family has long had a connection to Hendricks Regional in a variety of capacities, though I'm obviously focusing on patient care. Both of my parents have been served here on multiple occasions with mixed results. My mother ended up being transferred out due to the complexity of her case. My father, whose care here was most recent, was treated kindly even if I somewhat felt like once his prognosis was determined to be poor (he is now in hospice) his care was dismissive. My overall thoughts? Hendricks has grown a lot and Danville is the main location and hospital with multiple medical buildings. I've spent several days here recently with loved ones and seldom saw the ER overly busy. Staff seemed friendly. It's important to note that this is not a Medicaid facility. They do offer the full spectrum of care, however, it seems like for more complex cases they'll likely defer to an Indianapolis network (I've had this happen twice with family). The hospital decor is simple yet clean. Rooms seem to be largely single-person. Most recently, my loved one was in both ICU and a med-surg room. Staff were friendly and helpful. I did find they were a bit casual about helping someone with personal care in front of others - which I find somewhat disrespectful, however, it improved once I brought this up. I found the food here to be pretty good. It's incredibly better than IU Health, for example. Hendricks is increasing its professional partnerships, as well. For example, I know they're part of the Mayo Clinic network and one of the doctors who consulted with my loved one was also in the Community network. Overall, I'd likely call Hendricks Regional a solid mid-range health facility that I wouldn't hesitate to go to for basic healthcare needs. For more comprehensive matters, I'd likely consider alternative options. Facilities are good, patient care is generally good with a blend of skill and smaller town compassion. Weekends are kind of shut down - you have to be careful about what entrance you use as some are much more difficult to access on weekends. I generally use the ER entry and it works fine. For those in Hendricks County, Hendricks Regional will likely meet most needs and for my Putnam County family it's likely worth the effort to make it here instead of deferring to the smaller county hospital in Putnam County. Always growing and improving, Hendricks Regional is a solid option for those in the area with basic healthcare needs but definitely not a destination hospital.

The two techs came out and discovered that they had not put the IV in a vein so the saline and contrast was injected into the soft tissue of my arm. I had a bubble the size of a softball under my skin. I was sent home with an ice pack and had to return two days later to have the contrast part of the MRI repeated. When I returned for the remainder of MRI, they had an actual nurse put the IV in my arm. I proceeded to get in the machine and the techs did the rest of the MRI. But when they moved me out of the machine, they realized that the contrast and saline did not go in my arm at all. Instead it sprayed out of the open port on the IV and was all over the floor. After cleaning that up, they asked if I wanted to stay and complete the MRI and they said they would inject the contrast by hand rather than having it go in via a programmed release. I agreed to stay and on this third try, the MRI was finally completed. Needless to say, I felt like I was in the presence of very unprofessional, untrained people. I will never return to this place for my future breast MRIs.
