This was my first time coming to IV Juice Bar, but definitely not my last! Being a low sugar gal, it was such a treat to be able to see that they had a keto bowl with only 10 g of carbs. Most açai places are loaded with sugar. Delicious, happiness, making sugar! But this offering was so, SO good I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything by coming here. Service was friendly and laid back. Each bowl is constructed by hand, made customizable however you like it. That does take a bit of time, so plan a few extra minutes to wait in line, and treat yourself to one of their delicious bowls. There is no seating inside, but there's communal seating outside. We've come here a lot and usually have a great experience, which is why this visit was so disappointing. We ordered two of the same protein smoothies and they came out noticeably different. One looked and tasted like extra milk was added just to fill the second cup. You could literally see the color difference. We asked for them to be remade but honestly the remakes tasted even worse. They were so thick and overloaded with peanut butter that it felt like drinking peanut butter straight out of the jar. It wasn't even really drinkable. The superfood and protein smoothies this time were just really lacking in flavor and balance. What makes it more frustrating is that the last 20 times we've been here it always hits. I've been coming to IV Juice Bar for several years now. I usually only come once every few months to visit my aunt in Rancho Cucamonga (I live in Orange County). When I drive up in the morning, I make a point to visit IV Juice Bar because I really like their premium protein shakes. They have a mix of everything I like in smoothies: blueberries, bananas, peanut butter, oats, and natural sweeteners like agave. I'm actually really sad most smoothie places don't have combinations like this. I've always liked the mixture of protein and fruits. I've seen some recent reviews where people are complaining that they apparently had to deal with the boss or manager who is mean to her employees, but whenever I go in the morning, I never see this issue. The only real flaw I have is that the smoothie is a little on the expensive side: $8.50 for a regular size and $9.50 for a large. Stopped on a whim for a juice during a juice fast and IV Juice Bar came in really clutch. Staff was extremely helpful in assisting me as it was my first time, despite there being a line. I really appreciated their help in choosing an appropriate juice that would coincide with my juice fast. The juice itself was really strong and quite bitter, but I got used to it about half way. I would have added a bit more fruit, but I just know my body loved the detox juice. I did have a bit of the runs a few hours later, so it indeed detoxed! It's always good when a product delivers. I have never had an acai bowl, like never! But, I was sharing a table outside Klatch Coffee with a young lady and her little brother and they were both eating one. Her little brother, who was 2, liked it and so I decided to take the plunge. I ordered a bowl with blue pineapple as the base with almond granola. It's so amazing to find a business that is so caring and professional. I placed a catering order for a company meeting. The assistant manager carefully took my order over the phone as it was all customized açai bowels. Then I told her I was concerned about how fast it might melt the morning of the meeting, she offered to start preparing the base the night before so the base would be nice and frozen in the morning of the meeting. Great juices, smoothies and bowls. Have been here several times in the morning. and the staff have been warm and welcoming. This afternoon was definitely disappointing. I walked in and was not greeted and stood in front of the counter for a couple of minutes. The two employees never looked up. A gentleman walked from the back and greeted us. Moments later a lady and her son walked in and the same staff that was too busy to look up at us greeted them. The service was very friendly and they let me sample the different bases you can make with the bowl. I choose their blue pineapple spiraling and açaí base. She gave me a sample and when I licked the matcha off I noticed micro stains very similar to the color on the spoon. I still got an bowl and left. I want to preface my review with a few things: The owner, Jennifer, is a sour lady who treats her employees awfully. She always complains and micromanages. They think they are owed something because they are a "small" business. This acai place is absolutely not anything special. They bulk buy sorbets from a company called Acai Roots. You can make these "bowls" for much cheaper yourself. If you don't want to buy the base in bulk, the acai base is sold at Smart&Final in a small tub. *** Now, with that out of the way, let me list my grievances with this place. I've been going here as a customer for about a year. Every single time Jennifer works I noticed she treats her employees awfully. In addition, she uses her customers as free marketing. She will record people in her store, unbeknownst to them, and post it on her Instagram story. She often complains about how difficult it is to run a business when it is infact not half as challenging as she makes it out to be. Jennifer is constrained by her own small-mindedness and incapacity to think in depth. This place also doesn't follow proper food safety standards. Half of the young employees are not ServSafe certified. Jennifer regularly offers something known as "5 day juice cleanse." This is nothing but a scam. It's not a cleanse. The juices aren't filling. Anywho. I could go on and on, but I won't. I can't stomach supporting this place or Jennifer anymore. I encourage you all to stop as well. read more

The staff has always been the highlight--friendly, attentive, and more than willing to make sure your drink was made just right. The vibe felt wholesome and community-based. But something has clearly changed, and I've got a strong feeling it's tied to one major difference: the increased presence and involvement of the owner. Lately, I've seen the owner actively engaging with employees--and not in a supportive way. I've witnessed her pull staff mid-order to discuss things that seem petty and irrelevant, especially during rush hours. Instead of empowering her team or ensuring customers are happy, it feels like her energy is focused on micromanaging and undermining the very people who made this place so welcoming. My experience with the rewards system is where things started to feel off. On one visit, a staff member let me know I'd earned a free drink next time. I came back, and a different employee told me, "Not yet, but your next drink will be free." Okay, no big deal--maybe I misunderstood how the points work. The next visit, the owner herself rang me up. I mentioned redeeming my free drink, and she looked up my account, only to say, "No, you're not there yet." I explained what I'd been told on previous visits and instead of working with me, she said, "We have a lot of new people here, so they misinformed you." In other words--blame the staff. Again, I paid, and she added, "You're close though." On yet another visit, she took my order again and said, "Your next drink is free." This time, I checked my account online--because yes, customers do have access now--and surprise: still one point away. Always just one point away. It's starting to feel less like a glitch and more like a deliberate move to avoid honoring rewards. To be clear--this isn't about a free drink. It's about consistency, respect for loyal customers, and accountability. If the system says one thing, and I've been told another repeatedly, you can't keep blaming staff or questioning whether I'm using the right number. The info is right there online. Also worth noting--the quality of the drinks has slipped. I usually order the Immunizer, which used to be made fresh right in front of you with real orange, pineapple, and ginger. Now it tastes watered down, the ginger is barely noticeable, and the juice seems pre-made--possibly from the night before, maybe even processed. That fresh element used to make a huge difference. To the staff: you've always been incredible. This review isn't about you. You've shown professionalism and kindness even under pressure, and it's clear many of you are just trying to do your best. To the owner: it might be time to take a step back and reflect. If your involvement is creating more tension than improvement, and if longtime customers start noticing the pattern, it's worth listening. (Notice my review 3 year ago?)
