Our employee arrived for his scheduled appointment today, but his necessary translator did not arrive. When I called to resolve the issue and suggested reaching out to the insurance carrier to see if there was a coordination mix-up, the representative, Shana, became extremely aggressive and rude on the phone. Instead of providing the customer support we needed, she claimed there was no one available in the entire building who spoke Spanish. Throughout the call, she refused to let me get a word in. When I politely asked for her supervisor's name, she completely bypassed my question and hung up on me, refusing to provide any management contact information. I called back immediately and was connected with Brandy, who was very kind, professional, and helpful. She was able to provide the name of the supervisor, Denise Kurt. While I appreciate Brandy's excellent assistance in a stressful situation, the behavior exhibited by Shana is completely unacceptable for a professional medical office handling sensitive worker accounts. Management needs to address Shana's conduct and communication immediately

I have been wearing glasses since the third grade and I am extremely near-sighted. One of my biggest fears is losing my sight. Dr. Lim made me feel extremely confident about getting the surgery. I commented to Dr. P that I had to wait 2 hours. At this, Dr. P, not only got defensive, but I felt, personally insulted. I did not make an untrue statement. He was 2 hours late. I did have my eyes dilated, but had waited prior to this and after until I was seen. At this, he told me I was"Mean". I wasn't mean, I was honest as I pointed out, but he couldn't let it go. I apologized again as I realized he was taking this so personally, even telling me he has told his children not to become doctors due to people like me. Weird. At this, I apologized again for my statement of saying he was late and he went off on a tangent of "having done good surgery on me", yes he did. Cataract surgery. However this had nothing to do with being late. He said I couldn't say something like this and expect an apology was acceptable. He looked at my chart and said I had been coming to him since 2021. He could not drop this. He is a good doctor, however has run late consistently. I will be changing opthomologist as It was if I was at that point speaking to a spoiled child, not a professional doctor.

My mother went to see Meng Lee, O.D. because she was experiencing vision loss. Despite her serious…read moresymptoms, he failed to properly evaluate or treat her condition. His care was dangerous, harmful, careless, irresponsible, and unprofessional. At the first visit, he performed some basic tests--eye pressure, vision check, and optic nerve exam--and told us her problems were just due to "old age." He never even mentioned the early cataracts that were documented in her record. At the second visit, he was still unsure of the problem. He did almost no new exams, "diagnosed" her with "dry eyes," suggested she "try" some eye drops, and said nothing else needed to be done--except repeatedly asking my mother to come back, without giving any clear explanation or follow-up plan. Instead, he pushed for glasses, even though glasses were not the cause of her vision problems. Most importantly, he did not perform or recommend any standard glaucoma tests, such as: Visual field testing OCT imaging Gonioscopy Pachymetry Referral to an ophthalmologist (a medical eye doctor) These are standard components of a complete glaucoma evaluation, especially in a patient aged 70, with cataracts and borderline IOP readings (20 mmHg is still within normal range but at the higher end). Although he presents himself as a "glaucoma-certified optometrist," he completely missed the signs of glaucoma and failed to manage my mother's serious condition. We specifically asked whether my mother might have glaucoma, and Dr. Lee told us no--without conducting any of the standard tests necessary to confirm or rule out that condition. We didn't question it at the time--because we didn't know about the standard glaucoma tests and trusted him, especially after he brushed it off and said she was "just old," as if that explained everything. Over two years later, a great doctor performed the proper tests and diagnosed her with advanced glaucoma at the first visit. Unfortunately, by then, the damage was permanent. This is a serious failure of care. If Meng Lee had properly evaluated her symptoms or referred her to a medical specialist, my mother's vision could have been saved. This level of negligence should not be tolerated in any healthcare setting. Someone who ignores clear signs of disease and fails to provide even the most basic standard of care should not be allowed to continue practicing. He should have his license revoked.

Both my mother and I felt very uncomfortable and upset by the way we were spoken to. We were left waiting for a long time with no explanation, and the overall environment felt dismissive and unprofessional. Eventually, we decided to leave because the situation was unbearable. I will never return to this clinic. It is truly disappointing to see healthcare professionals treat patients this way. No one deserves to be treated with such disrespect, especially when they are seeking medical help.

I met with Dr. Jacobs on December 12 to go over the changes so we could get the ball rolling and not have a delay in my immune treatment which I require every 3 weeks to stay healthy due to a serious immune disorder. He assured me that it would be handled well. Then almost month later I call back and find out nothing has been done. The office didn't have a new script from the Dr. The contract worker they had hired to deal with insurance benefits at the office still didn't know I had a new pharmacy benefits provider. She was trying to order the old medication from the old benefits provider. So I spent the next two weeks on the phone for entire days - leaving messages, waiting on hold, coordinating between nursing staff (bc the dr was now on vacation), the independent contractor who didn't understand my insurance change, my pharmacy benefits provider and the pharmacy filing the order. Babysitting grown adults who are getting paid to apparently not do their jobs. The office at first admitted to dropping the ball, then they each slowly started to blame other people in the office and I realized what a toxic dysfunctional mess the whole operation was. Perhaps they once were good - the vast majority of these five star reviews are many years old. Today, I think they can handle routine allergy shots. That's their bread and butter. Anything more is a deep stretch for their abilities. In the end I finally got my medication two weeks late and it would have been even later if I hadn't borrowed a medical pump to use from a complete stranger. This was an incredibly stressful process that would have been avoided if people at this office understood how to do their jobs.
