From the moment we arrived, we were met with a cold and unwelcoming attitude from the receptionist. She immediately demanded our insurance information, even though we had sent it via email the day before. Despite her snippy attitude, she eventually found the email after reviewing her inbox but still insisted that we couldn't see the doctor without confirming the insurance details first. After waiting in the reception area for what felt like at least 30 minutes, we were finally brought in--only to be told that they were going to take panoramic x-rays right away. I declined, explaining that we were there for a consultation about braces, not for unnecessary x-rays. The staff member seemed visibly irritated and sent us back to the waiting room. After waiting an additional 20 minutes, another staff member took us out of the office into the hallway and once again pushed for the x-rays, even though I had already declined. At that point, I'd had enough. The fact that they took us outside the office to discuss this made me feel like we were being kicked out, and we left. This practice seems more focused on unnecessary procedures than patient care or communication. I would not recommend TBraces Orthodontics based on our experience.

The ortho didn't even apologize for his or his staff's actions. He simply said, "we can't monitor each household, it's unrealistic." If you want to be part of the decision making process, try another office. He'll say what you want to hear but will do the complete opposite given the opportunity. Shameful!

I have been a patient of Dominion Hills Family Dentistry for 10 years and I write this review to…read moreadvise others to avoid this practice. After 10 years, I am taking the time and effort to move on to a different dental office, which takes a bit of effort. And the reasons why are very serious and if you have a family, you especially need to take these warning into account. I see there are few good reviews (and some clearly fake) for this dental office, well then, for the few real ones - they must have just had a simple cavity. Just give it time- they will figure out this place is no good. 1. Dental offices are required by the medical board to have an emergency number/contact number for patients. On 4 different occasions (2x broken tooth, cavity fell out, crown fell out) I contacted their emergency telephone number and text them on the number. Absolutely no response. Later, on a Monday they lightly reference, that they may have gotten my messages. Today, I found out that they failing to respond or monitor their emergency phone/contact is actually a violation on the medical board. And if I care to, I could file a complaint. Here's why they are failing besides not caring: it's a very small office. One dentist, who uses one young part-time dentist in training and an office manager/secretary- so a 3-person operation. Yep, not much. And they are not open/doing business Friday-Sunday. Yep, closed three days a week. So, God help you if something bad happens to you or your family Friday thru Sunday. They are not going to respond to you, and they are not going to come in to help you or your child, if they or you are hurt. See the problem. Over time, you or your family are going to need special help on a Friday-Sunday. It's going to happen eventually. And when you call the emergency line/text for them (which they are required by Virginia Medical Board to respond to). They will not respond, and they will not help. 2. So, they are a very small operation. 3-person operation and many, many times, they do not pick up the telephone. Basically, they screen calls using their caller id. Yep, not very nice. So, for example (and there are other examples), I've called to ask if a crown has come in. Then later I'd call again to inquire. LOL and guess what, no answer. I call and I call- no answer. Yep, screening calls. Lately, I eventually figured it out and just went over there to talk to them. I just live around the block, so it's no big deal. But recently it made me think. LOL, they been doing this for years. They screen calls using caller id and they don't pick up. Yes. It's kind of funny to think about at first, but when you think about it. It's pretty messed up and if you live a distance away, I guarantee this will be extremely aggravating to you. So, I've read a bunch of these 5-star reviews from people, and they are all nice and cute.... give it some time and real need- you'll find out when they fail you. Also, some real observation. I know people want to be nice, but I was nice with Dr. Dorjee for 10 years and objectively examining her performance ...not good. If she cared, she would respond to the emergency message/texts....if she cared. Guess what, I've figured out, she doesn't. 3. She (Dr. Dorjee) seems to be rotating a lot of young dentists in and out of the office and getting them to do the work. And when I say the work, I mean all the work. Everything from cavity filling to crowns. And she has USED different ones over the year. Recently, for my crown (and I don't normally don't ever do this) I had to look at the person as ask if they have done this procedure before or if I'm first. They looked like they were 19. And I said it in a way, that I needed them to be honest with me. I said it nice, but direct. I had to. So, this has been going on for a while. 4. I've read some of these five-star reviews and they are kind of the same length, and they all seem to sound the same. Alot of "best cleaning I've ever had" and "I was comfortable and enjoy my cleaning soooo much". LOL: I know the young office manager/secretary and these 5-star reviews are her. She's creating a bunch of accounts and talking how great a cleaning and how comfortable and "soooo friendly" lol. Totally her. 5. She has no respect, and she does not care. Sorry, but if she did ... she wouldn't be doing and acting the why she does. I've given her a bunch of chances over the years, because I live right around the corner. But enough is enough.

She is also taking a lot of precautions during covid and has you hand sanitized and temperature checked on the way in. She also spaces out her appointments so that you don't run into anybody. I also find it concerning that they incentivize 5-star reviews (only if you do the review in front of them). As a potential patient, please be aware that the high rating you see on Google may not be an accurate representation of the actual level of care provided. The work feels subpar, and I was hit with "forgotten" charges days after being told I was paid in full. They offer rewards for good reviews, which can explain their high rating. After the procedure, she would check with follow-up messages to make sure the temporary / permanent crowns were holding well and that there were no complications. I definitely felt well taken care of. The front staff was incredibly funny and kind as well! Wandeline and Sidra really take care of you and make sure that everything is all smooth and ready to go. I had to do a procedure which required numbing via needle - consequence of putting this appointment off so long :( - but she was so thoughtful as to apply anesthetic gel so I wouldn't feel the needle going in. She also said, "Close your eyes" before she started so I wouldn't see this giant ass needle flying towards my face. In retrospect, she kind of treated me like a child, but in this situation it is EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED. From a financial standpoint, she was very clear about what procedures she was going to perform and what my insurance would cover. She even suggested how I can space out my appointments to maximize insurance coverage. Yay. At the end she kept thanking me profusely for how great I was and how tiring it must have been to have my mouth open for so long (insert joke here). She also said, "Thank you for being so brave!" which I appreciated, because I was.

This review is for Dr. Hindman…read more Having had a previously positive experience with this office several years ago, I found myself reaching out again when in need of an emergency appointment recently. This would turn out to be a mistake. The Pros: I was able to get an appointment for the next day, and could've taken a same day appointment had my schedule permitted it. End of list. The Cons: I was told I needed a tooth extraction (& implant) that common sense and a second opinion have now revealed I did not need. All questions about the possibility of saving the tooth were immediately dismissed after about a minute of looking and two x-rays while in the chair. I had to ask, twice, to be given the antibiotics that I actually did need, as he was too busy compiling brochures for me of all his buddies that he wanted to refer me to for said extraction. Multiple times a panoramic dental x-ray was pushed on me, something I was told I had to have - and was told would cost me much more at any other practice - which felt like more of an attempt to get everything they could out of my insurance company than something that would help me in the moment, especially as I had to repeatedly say no. This is not even getting into what it's like for someone with anxiety about dentists, which the office had been warned about, to have to hear "I have more bad news for you but we won't get into that today". A week later, in the chair of another dentist at another practice, after another round of (non-panoramic) x-rays, said dentist looked at me and asked "that tooth?!" and then announced what I actually needed was a root canal. It's to their credit that I'm now going to be saved from an incredibly pricey procedure that likely would've caused more problems down the line. If you go here, get a second opinion after. You're probably going to need one. Better yet, just don't go here at all.

The entire office is very kind and works hard to accommodate you into their office.
