Review THE OWNERS HAVE A SCHOOL AGED CHILD WHO THEY DON'T EVEN SEND THERE!!! THEY FEEL THE SCHOOL IS GOOD ENOUGH FOR YOUR KIDS BUT NOT THEIR OWN! I never write negative reviews but this is too important to ignore. When my children attended IVY LEAGUE SCHOOL there was a high rate of teachers openly showing disdain to students. There is no nurse at this school.The office staff haphazardly does the work of a nurse but are not medically trained. Worst teachers I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.Most are not certified or have masters.They are unhappy people who bring it to work with them and make a point to transfer that misery to the kids.Avoid this school.You will regret it.My children were very unhappy there. The ineptitude stretches from the teachers to the office staff.The owners have no background in education. Our children no longer attend this place and are better for it. AVOID! AVOID! The absolute worst school, they claim to want diversity, this is not true. The black and brown kids are not treated well and they know the difference. The owners have good intentions but the faculty and staff are racist to the core. My daughter was a student from age 2 to 12 years old. She is now in therapy trying the heal the years of damage from the teachers and parents. It breaks my heart to hear the stories of how bad she was treated. I feel so bad for compromising my daughters mental health for what I thought was a good education. Not a good school for Black & Brown kids. I will be happy to discuss my daughters story as her story is now part of her healing. read more

Horrible experience from the owner who breached his schools contract and refused to process my refund with 45 days as stipulated in the contract. I was forced to dispute with credit card and he fought to avoid paying me back. The owner accused me of taking advantage of a 20% teacher discount for his summer camp and that I'm not really a teacher when I very much am a active teacher for students with disabilities. Please don't support a business that participates in shady business practices within our community. read more

As a parent and aunt of past and present Ivy League School students. I wanted to express my gratitude to all of the teaching staff and office staff. All of my children and grandchildren had an amazing experience in both the School and Day Camp. I have never experienced such caring individuals as I have at Ivy League. Two of grandchildren suffer from ADHD and one of them is on the spectrum having been diagnosed with Asperger. The teaching staff and office employees were and continue to be so patient, empathetic and understanding I could not ask for a better environment or establishment to have them in. The Owners Margaret and Noah Cooper are amazing they take the time to explain the vision of the school and what has been accomplished thus far. They are well versed in working with children with disabilities and their families. I was afraid that my children would be treated differently because we are Latin and well quite frankly different shades of white to light brown. But one of the owners is a Latina herself so my husband and I felt our children and then our grandchildren were in great hands. I would recommend this school and day camp to anyone who ask. That is how confident I am about Ivy League School. read more

I'm writing to let people know how in the 21 st century children like our Hamza( a young 11 year old boy with a permanent disability) get treated in a fake " inclusive " world! Since early March this year we were looking for an appropriate Summer Camp that could be a great fit for Hamza. Upon lots of research and referrals we contacted the Ivy League Day Camp- a supposedly great camp for children with all abilities here on LI. We had numerous conversations and emails exchanged with the Director of the Camp- Meredith Stern who claimed to be well acquainted with children with disability. We shared with her Hamza's profile , not leaving out any valuable information that could adversely impact his success at the Camp. She reassured us in April that she had hired a perfect person who had experience working with children like Hamza. We suggested to her since April that we would like to arrange a meeting where we could introduce Hamza to this person and let the two of them bond. It was not until the first week of August that after many emails we heard back from Meredith that this person quit but she reassured us that she had another person- a high school kid who was great! We asked again that this person be introduced to Hamza and that they give Hamza a tour of the Camp. Just the Friday before the first day of Camp for Hamza( the following Monday), we were asked to come to visit in the evening. It wa a rushed meeting with us giving all details of how Hamza thrives and responds to instructions and directions, the breaks he need and the prompts and motivation which keep him going. Meredith did NOT come close to introduce herself to Hamza and waved at us from a distance- being very impersonal! On the first day of Camp- about only 3 hours later, we get a call from Meredith , who is distraught and hyperactive that Hamza is not responding to ANYONE and is not in control. We were asked to come immediately and upon arrival , Hamza was crying and totally agitated. We were informed that Hamza: 1- broke the Camp Counselor's glasses by tossing a basket ball at him 2- He was splashing water on everyone in the pool. 3- He touched another child inappropriately 4-He wouldn't get out of the pool when instructed to and was swatting his shirt. He tried to swat Meredith as well according to her. All the while she refused to answer our questions : 1-what happened before he got to this point. 2-Did he get suitable bathroom / water breaks 3-had he had lunch? All triggers for Hamza , but she totally evaded our questions, saying we should take Hamza home. We took him home and consoled him and calmed him down. Later after several phone calls and emails we were finally able to speak with Meredith and she had some most obnoxious questions about Hamza! Firstly , she asked what he had been doing all Summer( profiling our Hamza as if he'd been on the streets) Secondly, when we informed her that he had been in Summer School- she inquired whether the Summer School had noticed any "strange behaviors". Thirdly, she kept saying " this child was not the child that was presented to me" - referring disrespectfully to Hamza as - this child! Lastly, She compared Hamza to another child with disability who had been in the camp earlier and who the wonderful camp counselor had worked with was a "perfect kid with no strange behaviors". We are distraught and aghast at the treatment meted out to our son and intend to take action. As we are aware of the disability Act of New York- All children with disability are entitled to a least restrictive environment, we are going to file a complaint with the rightful place make sure no child EVER gets treated and traumatized the way Hamza did. Please share in your groups and make the world aware that this will NEVER be acceptable! read more

Great school owners are amazing and teachers are great like one big family my stepson enjoys going there

This school is amazing! Students have so many more opportunities for success because of the individualized education due to a small classroom environment. Their arts program is incomparable to any school around (kids work with famous lyricists, musicians, artists) and the culture of the school feels like family. I would recommend this school to someone looking for the best possible opportunities in fostering educational and moral values in their child! Their teachers rock too! read more

Both my kids go here (one in pre-k and one in Kindergarten). Couldn't be happier with the school! Love it!
