I ended up waiting for about 30 minutes. The guy who did my nails was rude telling me if I didn't soak my nails in the acetone he wouldn't be able to do anything for me-even though I had been soaking them in acetone for 20 minutes and only stopped because I didn't want my nails to get brittle. If that wasn't annoying enough, I was asked to pay for my service before he even started on my nails. I have never been asked to pay before I've been serviced. Lastly, they used a cheap generic base and top coat. Please just save your money and go to a different salon in the area. read more

Took both of my girls with me to get our nails done my 17 year old sister to get a pedicure and my 3 year old to get her nails painted why I got a fill I signed in when they took the 17 year old I asked for the girls to both sit together to get their feet done she ignored me then I told my nail tech what was going on and she said don't worry we will get her a chair by you and get her feet done in the little kid pedi chair I reminded them 3 times never got done it would of took 5 mins to pain her toes will never go back agin read more

Beware...although they do a good job, if you get a gel pedicure one time and not the next, they charge you $5 to remove it. Now, if you pay the $15 for new gel, they don't charge you. this is what i wanted vs what i received. two very different pictures. my local nail salon just closed so i decided to try another salon close to my area. can i say i was disappointed and will never be back. to start, i showed the nail lady what design i was hoping to receive. she asked me what color i wanted but never gave me options to choose from. i said light pink (as shown in picture) and she came back with a neon pink i did not ask for. as she was cutting my nails i asked her politely to go shorter. she barely cut any off making my nails extra long. as soon as she was about to start my design, she informed me the price for french tips nails were $70!! to me that is insane. i have been to many salons over the years that cost a fraction of that price. most sets range from $35-$45. i quickly asked how much solid pink nails would cost instead. she said $55 which also seemed too high for me. i was already fed up with this lady so i decided to just finish my appointment and leave as soon as possible. once she finished i was stunned by the outcome and not in a good way. i can agree that i will never ever be back to ivy nails and encourage you to stay away as well. read more

Stay away. Seriously. The guy who did my nails was so rude. He yanked my arms around and cut two of my fingers to the point of them bleeding. Then he yelled at me for talking and snapped when I flinched in the slightest. He also tried to scam me into upgrading to gel. We asked to be seated together but they had 4 of us spread throughout the place so it was pointless getting our nails done together. I have always had great service at this Nail Salon. I've been a client for about 8 years. The updated remodel makes the salon very spacious. This is important to me, as I use a walker for mobility. Max and his staff are very kind an efficient. I don't always have an appointment; yet I can get in reasonably quickly as a walk-in. Very disappointed with the mani/pedi my daughter got. The nail polish was peeling and chipping within a few hours. The second coat of polish was very sloppy, not even covering the entire nail. I even asked for a good top coat to be applied on her because usually they don't put one on her there. It was a kid's mani pedi, but for $30 I would expect it to last more than 2-3 hours. I only had clear polish applied to my fingernails and it is chipping as well. The polish does not cover the entire nail to the nail bed. We won't be returning. read more

Wish there was a 0 star. Worst experience ever. First time coming I asked for almond shaped nails and she shaped them to point upward. Really?. Their rude and yank and pull on u. And when u ask them to fix a mistake they get pissy about it. The receptionist is stuck up and rude. Been coming here since May (it's now November), and have never had a problem. I only do acrylic sets with a gel polish and have never been disappointed. I usually come as a walk in, so I get whoever is available. Some a better than others but overall I've never been dissatisfied. Even converted some of my girlfriends to start coming here vs their regular shops. read more

Every summer I come back to Racine and frequent Ivy Nails. I usually request Max, who does an amazing job. My last appointment, in late July, I had a very nice pedicure and the tech even offered to put an extra coat of polish on to be sure that I was happy with the color. The tech who did my fill and gel polish was a young man a couple rows back on the right side of the shop though I do not remember his name. He did an amazing job on my nails, giving them a very nice squared shape without making them look wide. I went a full three weeks without any lifting or issues, somewhat of a miracle for me. I have had nothing but positive experiences at Ivy nails - Racine and was very excited to see them expand over the past year. I look forward to my appointments there, knowing I'm going to consistently have quality service even though I don't live in the area. read more

I had a horrid, awful experience at Ivy Nails yesterday. I should mention I have been coming here for pedicures for about 4 years. Last time I was there, it was a bad pedicure. I figured it may have been just a bad day for the woman who did my pedicure, and nothing worth giving up on them entirely for. Well, yesterday confirmed to me that their great pedi's are no longer available unless you get the one good person there out of probably 20+ employees. Yesterday's I called ahead and made a pedicure appointment. The employee (a different woman), rushed through my pedicure so fast, it was the furthest thing from relaxing or even worth paying money for. It barely lasted over 15 minutes. She was RUDE, said literally 5 words in english to me the whole time, was annoyed when I couldn't understand something she said to me & asked her to repeat it, and she was extremely sloppy at her work. She didn't even let my feet soak in the water, started removing my old polish which she didn't even completely remove. She was rough with my feet, and then barely even scrubbed my heels with the pumice scrubber. She put cold lotion on my legs when they were dripping wet, slopped it up and down and it felt so gross because it was like her rubbing water up and down my legs and feet - weird and not at all relaxing. You know it's a bad sign when the lotion doesn't even absorb in your skin and it looks wet - because it's all water practically. The lady getting a pedicure next to me even noticed. I have always loved the warm towels they put on your legs there while they apply the polish - well, she literally threw it on my legs and it was SO HOT, then patted my foot, and didn't even leave them wrapped on my legs. Same thing for my other leg. Then she made me put my feet back in the water - WEIRD - and why when I have lotion on my legs and feet and they are clean? I was furious at this point, and wanted to get out of there immediately. The woman then grabbed my nice leather strappy sandals and put them on my wet feet without drying them off and asking me first - I stopped her and asked her to dry my feet off before that, and she threw my sandal back down on the floor and gave me the dirtiest look because of it. Needless to say she barely patted each foot dry and made me put my wet feet in my nice sandals even when I asked not to. She then put on the polish SO messy - it was all over my skin around toes, and then said "go dry" and pointed to the UV dryer. Worst of all, she immediately asked me to pay, I had a card, and when she came back she stood looking over me with her hand out waiting for a tip, when I didn't think she deserved a dime for what she just did. I told the young woman with long blonde hair who was cleaning the pedicure sinks as I left that she was awful and it was nothing but a terrible experience. I have had positive experiences until this past weekend and will NEVER be coming to this nail salon again. First I was asked to pay in cash since the credit card machine was not working and if I couldn't to go get the cash and come back. The water for the pedicure was cold. The man doing the service had blood shot eyes and kept winking whenever I would ask him anything while chomping on his gum. He cut the side of my toe nais with a cuticle nipper and filed my heals for literally 10 seconds. My cuticles literally looked like they were hacked at. My feet looked better coming out of the garden than after getting the pedicure. I heard there were new owners, so that def explains the change. The girl that was doing nails next to me had her client soaking off here nails and then continued to use her nail to scratch off the excess acrylic that by the way fell into the pedicure unit. read more

My mother-in-law took all the girls out for pedicures before July 4. Three adults and three kids. This salon does have 2 kids pedicure stalls. It was a little awkward when we arrived figuring out who was going where, but I couldn't undertsand why- the reservation was made weeks ago and still we were separated. The kids had great service. I had an AWESOME pedicure- a young man did mine and it was perfect. My nails looked great. The other two adults- not so much. My mother-in-law had foot surgery months ago. The woman grabbed her by the big toe and pulled it. Her water was cold. My sister-in-law had the same problem- cold water. And they had super fast pedicures. So- their experience would be lower than the 3 stars, mine a little higher. The girls seemed to have had a great time. I'd go back, although I prefer Laguna. And my sister-in-law usually goes to Cali. It could have been a lot better. read more

I was surprised to see two poor reviews for Ivy Nails. I have been a customer there for three years and am always pleased. It is true that English is a second language for many of the technicians. But I have found that to be commonplace in this industry. And as is the case with people everywhere, we meet some that we enjoy and others that we do not. I am a regular with Sai (booking my appointments weeks in advance) to ensure I have my first choice technician. (Walk ins get whomever is available, I recommend finding someone you like and booking in advance.) As for the 6/27/11 review - try them again. They are under new ownership and everyone seems to be much happier for it! read more

The only reason I am giving this review is because of the constant rude customer service. From day one I didn't "like" going into the facility but I sure DID love the way Danny did nails. The front desk is flat out rude. I had a 1:30 pm. apt to have a nail fixed and walked out at 2:05 with no work done. Waste of my time. I made an appt to have ONE NAIL fixed; that subsequently broke 2 days after I had them done last week Paying $75. I didn't appreciate my time being wasted. I got a call at 1:29 pm asking me where I was. I told them outside. After I left I called about 2:07 and flat out asked what was the appt for? She responded that she called me at 1:29 to see if I could come later...but I was already at the door!!! like 1 min before you call an appt and ask if I can come later? I hate this place. I have been going to this nail salon on and off for 2 years. This past visit to get a manicure rubbed me the wrong way. I had a male who did not say one word to me. My nails were jagged when he was done. I had to buy a emery board when I left there before I went into work to file my nails. When he was done I handed him my charge card and he never came back and the girl who greets you at the door brought it to me. The guy who did my nails was sitting in the waiting area! How rude! Eh, it was nothing fancy. I really didn't like how when they clean under your toe nails they put the gunk back into the pedi water. I was asked if I wanted a design on my toe and I said sure. She started putting on the design and she says, "oh, by the way it's an extra $5." I hadn't brought enough money for it, so I had to ask her to take it off and I was extremely embarassed. After she scrubed my heels, she didn't wash her gloves off and then she rubbed lotion on my calves and it felt like my legs were on fire! The store was noisy, so I didn't feel bad pushing the buttons on the massage chair. The pedi was done ok; it started chipping a few days later. However, the staff was friendly and it was more casual so you can laugh with others around you. I may go back but only if my usual place is booked up. read more

Went to Ivy Nails prior to having surgery with my mom and niece we all got pedicures and my niece got acrylic nails put on French manicure. When we left they looked gray and horrible in my opinion. After my surgery I asked my niece to c her nails and they just looked terrible. I told her we would go back and c what they could do unfortunately we didn't get there until two weeks due to my surgery. We showed the owner had he didn't say anything. It almost 2 hrs which is excessive and when she was finished they charged us full price I was extremely mad and indicated that - poor customer service when someone was dissatisfied with their service he indicated we should have came sooner. Dirty .Regular tech was great but she left. Owner lied that she had a sick child but not that she didn't work there anymore. Men very misogynist (hates women) when I had my nails done the last time. Bad job on gel nails the last time, had to do over. Figured if I went to the owner he would do a bang up job. Not so. Did n't listen to me. Gave me a manicure instead of gel repair I requested. Nails chipped and looked bad right away. IMO there were some questionable business practices. He expected 70 hours per week by his techs. Said he could keep the prices low do to hiring Asian girls. I went in there to get my nails filled and redone for my birthday weekend. The lady who did my nails was rushing through everything. I could tell she did not want to be there any longer then she had too. My nails look like crap. I told her to leave the length and she did not. Also I was telling her that it was uneven and her response was so rude. I am sorry but usually the customer is always right especially when they are telling you they don`t like what you are doing. They aren`t even or equal. She was also way too busy talking to her friend next to her that she was trying to use the sander machine on my skin. If I did not pull away when I did she would have taken skin off. She also did not put enough nail polish on my nails to make them look nice. Then she couldn`t even remove the nail polish that was not suppose to be there. Unfortunately I will never go there again for full set of fake nails. I was very disappointed. Well idk where to start. I was an employee there. A receptionist. I would never recommend anyone to go there. I was the person who cleaned up after services...they don't use proper sanitation at all..exspecially in the pedicure bowls. They are unprofessional. They illegally employeed me come to find out. They talk about costumers in their languages. Just rude. They do not run good business..it would frustrate me because people would call and make reservations and still have to wait and then they aren't next to each other. The owner tells you it's going to be not long for a wait but realistically you probably will be waiting 20 mins to a hour. It's rediculous. Oh and they don't sanitize tools properly..they put them in opened sanitized bags that look like they haven't been opened but they were opened. And people there are facts! I was there for seven months and never felt welcomed. They bring people in and out like crazy. Just the most unprofessional place I have ever stepped foot into. read more
