If they impress me, I ask them to come and view the job site, then give me a bid. This time, after a review of the MANY high-quality reviews for Mastercraft Interiors, I contacted Scott, the owner. We chatted, he came by the next day (a Tuesday), he saw the site, we discussed the job and colors, he delivered a detailed the bid the next day, we accepted same day. The very next day, he came by with color books to choose from, we discussed them at great length, then he directed me to a quality local paint store to get samples to try out. I got them, slapped on the walls, decided it was good and told Scott it was a go. I thought for sure it would be weeks before we got started and got done, which worried me as I have a very complicated travel schedule. To my pleased amazement, Scott somehow rearranged his life, worked from Saturday through Tuesday, was back Wednesday to put all the switch and outlet covers back on, helped me put a few tricky shelves back on the walls, and was packed up, cleaned up and out mid-day. It was awesome. It was a very tricky paint job as a bad remodeling job 15 years ago created some fancy footwork to paint in some areas. I've never seen such an efficient team (Scott + Jerri, a licensed professional who also got right to work). Incredibly meticulous painting, extremely careful about clean up. Just a beautiful job all around, including some delicate patching and caulking to address the poor workmanship from years ago. A year ago our next door neighbor had his home painted by ColorTouch. At the same time we were having new windows installed. The window installer was not required to paint the inside and outside, wood trim of the windows. We asked Todd of ColorTouch if he could gives us a bid on the painting of the trim. The quote was very acceptable and work began. Todd sent to us a painstaking, perfectionist painter. Indeed, we were impressed. In the Spring of 2025 we knew our entire home was due for a much-needed painting. We first asked for a bid from Todd & ColorTouch due to this recent experience. After Todd inspected our home, he sent us a complete and detailed Bid that included a list of everything that would be done for that price. Todd's bid price was so attractive we did not ask for any other bid. Soon after, 3 painters showed up and we got to know them well over the 14 days they were with us. These were not summer-time painters. All three were professional painters; they were as enthusiastic with the prep work of scraping away old, layered paint and caulking, sealing, and repairing dry-rot around windows. The first 5 days each painter would go to different sections of the home and work independently, prepping. They hauled away black bags of refuse. After 5 days of prep work they were ready to paint, most of the time working as a team. Besides Todd being responsive to phone calls and texts, he was on the job every day for several hours so all we really had to do was communicate to him directly what was on our mind or question to ask.
