Avoid this place at all costs. I should have never put my child through the initial intake with incompetent staff who shamed and scolded my brilliant child within the first five minutes. I would never speak to my own child that way and his sister witnessing it was even more uncomfortable. Sandy has no business working with children. My biggest regret is not walking away sooner. Unfortunately we had multiple bad experiences at Theraplay in Limerick. After the headache of scheduling, our therapist would take our child back late (a few times almost 10 minutes late) and then bring our child back 5 to 7 minutes before the appointment end time. Mind you we are being billed for one hour. After discussing this with the manager, notes were apparently made and new appointments with different therapists were booked, only for us to arrive and be the last to be taken back again with the same therapist we spoke to the manager about. We have arrived for appointments with an email confirmation listing the therapist we were seeing only to be told they switched us because a certain patient needed to see the therapist we were booked with. That isn't how a business should be run. We should be notified and asked if that change is okay, especially when they were aware of issues we were having. We even once called ahead of our appointment to confirm we did have an appointment that evening, to rush through dinner and arrive and be told, I'm sorry I was looking at the wrong date. Theraplay is very poorly run and unorganized. They need more therapists to take on the patients they have. We made multiple attempts to make it work and in the end we wound up canceling all our future appointments and leaving Theraplay extremely unhappy. read more

My 2 children go here and I absolutely love it. The therapists ACTUALLY CARE about their patients. My son was having behavioral issues in school and his OT Sandy went to his school to observe and gave them tips on how to run the classroom more effectively. Miss Katie, my daughter's PT, schedules a lot of their appointments so both of my children are here at the same time making my life easier. Miss Katie also gave me paperwork with instructions for medical assistance and walked me through the process. I got approved and this has saved me hundreds of dollars. I 100% trust everyone here and would highly recommend to anyone needing therapy for their children. read more

We have been coming to Theraplay for years and it was great. Ever since the takeover by Ivy Rehab, this place should be avoided at all costs. You have to call them 8 times to see if you can add appointments to the schedule. They never return phone calls or voicemails. Theraplay used to have a front desk person at all times, and someone would always pick up the phone. Here, good luck getting through, or having your call returned. If you like making 10 calls to get one appointment, and if you don't mind having no consistency, and no schedule, a non-functional portal, zero progress updates, and shortened appointments - then by all means come here. But, as is, the way this place operates - it's an absolute disgrace. read more

I can not say enough positive things about Theraplay in Limerick. The PT team of Allison and Annette began working with my daughter when she was 3 months old to help her Torticollis. In only 3 month her Torticollis is nearly resolved and her Father, Pediatrican and I couldn't be happier with her progress. I think most of the front office staff is new, so it seems the issues prior reviewers had were addressed. The therapists are all great, very thorough, friendly, patient and kind. This company needs a complete overhaul of their services, management, billing practices, etc. After experiencing an issue with billing, we found that the issue could not be resolved at the individual location center. All billing issues are processed at the main billing office. Both my husband and I called main building, and more specifically Dan in billing over 50 times in the course of three months. He never answered the phone and messages were not returned. Most telling, even the local branch manager, attempting to contact billing on our behalf could not get them to answer her calls or return her messages. Theraplay wasted our time for months trying to resolve a $30 balance on our account. At one point, we were assured that a credit for the remaining amount had been put on our account. There was no balance. Three months later, we received a statement in the mail with a balance due despite making a payment to them and having Dan put a credit on our account. Be prepared for them to continue to ask for more money over and over and over and over again for the same services rendered. It is my strong recommendation that you investigate all alternatives available to you besides Theraplay. While you may be fortunate to receive an individual therapist on site that is professional with our child, you simply will have no means of holding the organizational accountable for their numerous mistakes. This is particularly concerning for accounting and billing errors. Fortunately for us the disputed amount was small, I can only imagine the harm they could cause for a family over time and with a much larger balance. read more

We've been customers of Therplay for awhile now, and they recently moved to this new location from their Trappe location. All I can say is wow! What an improvement over the last place, which was pretty small and dumpy. The waiting room is now 2-3 times larger than their old place and can easily sit 20+ people. There is a TV in the waiting room showing kids programs to keep your little ones entertained. There are also some books available for kids to check out as well. While there is no free WiFi provided by Theraplay, you can easily access the public Wifi provided by the nearby fitness center. I got a brief tour of the new facility and inside where the kids receive their therapy is also very nice, and much larger. There is also dedicated private rooms when needed, for things like feeding, etc. On the downside, there is no nearby playground, which was nice in warmer months. But there is a nearby Wawa, pizza place, and Chinese restaurant. And I suppose if you belong to the fitness center, you could get a quick workout in while your child has his/her therapy session. The staff is great and I would highly recommend this place if your child needs therapy. read more

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about the theraplay therapists at this location!! 5 stars. However the scheduling/reception/ staffing situation is a nightmare. I call over and over for appointments and get told call back later I don't know how to do that. They have a very punitive and extreme rescheduling policy, which if you don't follow to their whims they will ban you from appointments. They will even lie about appointments you rightfully rescheduled or canceled within the proper timeframe and say you didn't and add them to a tally against you. It's all very arbitrary, if the person doesn't put it in the system in the correct coding or doesn't write the time of your voicemail it's a late cancelation. Then they wonder why people are bringing their kids in with pending or positive COVID tests...., because they'll get discharged from theraplay limerick forever if they mess up with canceling too soon. I got several notifications they sent to all customers that they were sending public health department the info to whoever had appointments on whatever day due to exposure. It really isn't a surprise people are bringing asymptomatic kids in because really it's a choice between ok, my kid who can't talk can either go to theraplay and risk others, or get forcibly banned from theraplay and not get the help they need to learn to talk because they didn't get enough notice to cancel the appointment. Oh and they are consistently either understaffed or their staff shuts off the phones early during opening hours so even if you want to call during the appropriate timeframes for appointment issues, they're not there to receive your calls! But they'll hold you accountable for that too. Great therapists but really have to jump through hoops at Limerick theraplay to utilize them. read more

We found the therapy services to be high quality, but the administrative staff not very professional. We were first given a therapist who our daughter loved, and given a different therapist the next time. When we requested the original therapist we were told she is a manager and is not encouraged to treat patients...but got conflicting stories from front desk staff and therapist staff. While out of town we received a letter stating they would discontinue us unless we scheduled an appointment...an oddly threatening letter to get from a drs office! Though we would have loved to continue services here it is too much hassle to deal with what feels like internal scheduling and staffing issues. read more

Theraplay should change management, billing and issue resolution. We ran into numerous problems with billing because we had not been adequately advised on late fees. For example, you get billed if you cancel on a rescheduled appointment even if you cancel within a 24 hour window. If you choose to dispute any charge, Theraplay sends the bill to a collection agency and asks that you directly deal with the collection agency. The local manager will pass you to billing and tell you to call the central billing department while the central billing will tell you to call the local manager. I have been back and forth with billing disputing the late fees over the course of two years. In my most recent call to the manager, I was told by the front desk that the manager was on vacation and that they would respond back to me within a week. Since then, a completely different person has contacted me and refuses to compromise on a resolution of my bill. Please do not use Theraplay and investigate other alternatives available to you. You may develop a personal relationship with a Therapist, but the organization does not take accountability for their services with additional hidden fees. Simply put, the organization does not put the patient first. read more

We haven't had a bad experience. We love the therapists!! All of them are amazing. We go for speech and PT. The front staff is always short so there is a bit of a wait when calling or dealing with them. once you get the hang of the scheduling policy it's easy to do business with the company. Their baseline is an hour session but once they get your child settled and then write notes it ends up being 20-30 min of actual therapy. I do not like how they are late and can bring a clients child out at 10-15 min after the hour and my child child will then only get a 50 min session and be expected to be picked up 5 min before the hour. That isn't right but I guess a lot in life isn't fair. read more

The manager or owner called us back to find out why we cancelled our sessions with them and was very interested in what we had to say. She was very nice and admitted that some things had not been properly done or followed through with. She was very apologetic and told us that they are working on getting more staff and more hours to better serve their patients. She also waived the 35.00 fee and asked us to please consider them again in the future if we need anymore therapy. I was very pleased and surprised as this showed that the business does really care for their patients and families and management is keeping an eye on the business that is growing. They appear to be evolving with the growth and have had a few stumbles but they have acknowledged them and are making things better for their patients. Thank You read more

Exactly as the other reviewer experienced, we waited months for an evaluation. We were also only allowed to schedule one type of evaluation at a time, and were told we couldn't schedule the next until after we had the first completed. So he needs PT, OT, and Speech yet we had to choose which one we needed most urgently. At the evaluation we were told to wait to hear from them while they sorted out how they wanted to bill insurance. More than a month goes by and we get a voicemail that he is on the inactive list because "we" failed to schedule appointments. We followed up and got that sorted, then when I called to confirm his first appointment the night before I was told he didn't have anything scheduled. Before I could call back the next day I received a letter that we were discharged for failing to schedule appointments! The therapists seemed competent so I am very disappointed but it seems they don't want our business. read more
