I highly recommend Ivy Rehab in Lisle. I worked with Maria a year ago when I first learned of the torn labrum in my hip. Her work was so effective that I was able to prolong surgery another year. Last month, I had two surgeries to get the impingement and larbral tear fixed in BOTH hips - having the surgeries 4 weeks apart. Despite the fact that she moved a half-hour drive from me after our first round of treatment a year ago, there was no way I was going to have anyone but Maria as my therapist and I followed her to Lisle. I had knee surgery at the beginning of COVID and didn't get a realistic session of rehabilitation at another center. My knee healed with a permanent bend, making it difficult to walk briskly and do many chores. Maria was recommended to me and I went with mild hopes. With her professional knowledge, great sense of humor and constant variety of work, we managed to get the knee straight again! I am back to my regular activities and so grateful for her hard work. The Center is very clean, inviting and everyone wears a mask. When I had an insurance problem, they were prompt in discussing it with me and took care of it quickly. I have been treated by Maria Kronk at Ivy Rehab on two separate occasions. Once for plantar fasciitis, and another time for lower back issues. And both times I have been thoroughly impressed. I have been to several different physical therapy clinics over the years and Ivy Rehab with Maria is my favorite. At Ivy Rehab, I can use Direct Access and go directly to physical therapy without needing to see a physician first. The clinic is always spotless and they are especially diligent about keeping it that way during this pandemic. They have also always been flexible and accommodating when it comes to scheduling. As far as treatment goes, Maria always finds the right balance between treatment, stretches, and exercises. She knows when to go easy, and when to push you a little harder to get you over the hump. An athlete herself, Maria understands the desire to get back to activity as quickly as possible, but will also be the voice of reason when it is not time yet. Ivy Rehab and Maria have always gone the extra mile to get me back to health. This has included spending extra time with me during sessions, recommending and helping get me in early to physicians, and has even gone with me once to one of my doctor appointments. With less than 2 1/2 weeks to my Chicago Marathon, I developed hip pain that was hindering my training, and threatening the possibility of not being able to even run the race. Maria answered my panicky email very quickly, and I was in to see her the very next day. With her expertise, she quickly diagnosed my issues and got to work right away on correcting them, knowing my goal was to be able to run the marathon in just a few short weeks. She made sure I was able to come see her 3x/week leading to the marathon. Within just 4 sessions, I was already markedly improved. She provided me with at home stretches and exercises to do, in adjunct to her treatments. I can proudly say I am an official marathoner, thanks to Maria and her team!!! I've been with Maria for many years now, and she's literally patched me up every time I do something stupid and pretend that I'm younger than I am. Some of my injuries have been severe, like Achilles tendonitis in each ankle simultaneously from trying to run at the pace level of my teen years, to treating a compound fracture of my right fibula just 12 months ago.
