I called my family doctor and couldn't get an appointment sooner than two weeks out. I called a local foot doctor and was told he's only open two days a week! I found Dr. Blaney through my insurance's website. He had full stars on their reviews. I called and spoke with his very friendly assistant and was told I could come in the following morning. Wonderful! I don't think I've met a more welcoming and cheery fellow. He listened attentively as I went through the life history of my foot and at the end, suggested that I might have a sciatica. But we went through all the possibilities just to be sure. He watched me walk, physically examined my foot and took X-rays all while explaining what he was looking for and what symptoms I would have if that was the case. During all this he maintained his energetic and enthusiastic attitude. In the end, his initial diagnosis was correct. I have sciatica. Turns out he's a runner too! He gave me some at home exercises to help relieve it and a discount coupon to a local shoe store! Isn't that sweet? Although I didn't have a foot injury, if I ever do, I'm definitely coming back to see Dr. Blaney!

The down side for me was he was also quick with shots of cortisone which only masked the pain but didn't really solve the issue which I had to find another doctor to do. Pain shots might be a good solution for some but that's not really the way I want to live. Dr. Salvino has been around a long time so clearly his patients like his approach. He recommended Shock Wave, which I had immediate relief the day after the session. This is a very tricky thing to fix as anyone with PF will tell you. I was able to locate their office without a problem (they are next door to Baked Apple Company) and there was plenty of parking. The registration process was simple, as I was able to fill out my forms online and I was seen soon after my scheduled appointment time. Unfortunately, my foot issue required a few months of physical therapy but I never had a problem finding an appointment that worked with my schedule, even if I had to cancel last minute. I was seen by Dr. Rembos as well as the 2 other doctors (Dr. P & Dr. J) in his office and they all provided excellent care and had terrific bedside manners. Unfortunately, the office staff are absolutely terrible. On my first visit, the women were having a loud personal conversation thru the walls. One sat at the reception desk, the other in her office, and they just went on and on about their personal problems. The front desk woman was in training and when I asked questions about my care, she told me she didn't know. On my second visit, her trainer was present so I followed up with my questions thinking she'd have the answers. They both gave me attitude as if I was inconveniencing them for asking. Of course, neither of them would provide me much help. So aggravating, rude, and unprofessional. Same experience as all other reviews, they recommended that I come 2x per week. When they were pushing to schedule the following week's appointments, I decided to hold off until I received my first round of bills. Glad I did and also decided not to return.
