I waited no more then 15 minutes on each visit to be seen, I was greeted by Kristen W who went over my x rays talked to me about what's going on and they seen that I had herniated disk and joint disease. From April to October my they have been monitoring me and noticed that it was getting worse They recommend surgery but wanted my A1c to be down to a 7, they were understanding and gave me time. I came back in December when I was at a 7 spoke to Doctor Hillary O who will be my surgeon, he said that my back is really really bad and he said he doesn't want to scare me but we need to fix this and he will help me. All of the staff has put me at ease from the moment I was worried to terribly frightened, answered all of my questions to the best of there knowledge and I can say January 3rd, 2024 I will be going in for a multi lumber spinal surgery.

In the past, I had tried physical therapy, acupuncture, and had countless doctors/tests/prescriptions- all which helped for some time, but didn't find or cure the problem. Modern Chiropractic proved my dad right that posture is important- and that years spent with my nose in a book had caused damage in the curve of my neck. I have definitely had good and bad days since starting my visits, but the doctors are really patient and helpful- and even understanding when a killer bad headache has me crying in the waiting room. I have seen and felt an improvement over all and am hopeful that the headaches might be banished good. The women at the front desk are also awesome- they are friendly and welcoming, and make it a comfortable place where you feel valued. They are also very understanding when it comes to scheduling changes and they have a text service where you can contact them- which I just love as my schedule is never the same. I have been to several connected to hospitals, that had gym and pool access & they do not come close to the unique techniques used by these experts. The KT tape was also amazing! (AKA: my binke, lol) I still use it. I ended up needing to go back to the surgeon, so I only used 10 of 12 visits. It was decided, that after this much time, I was not improving enough, so no sense returning. The claim adjuster was notified and understood. About a month after I left, I got call from the receptionist asking me why I did not come back. Risk management wanted to know? That was odd because Vinnie, decided the facia work was not helping, and suggested I go get the steroid injection, which I did. I would thnk that would have been in my chart and forwarded on. Minor glitch in communication. Very grateful for the feedback on the scoliosis brace that was wrong for me. That was major niceness & I am forever grateful for your input. I was able to return it & found an adult scoliosis brace from Source Ortho, online. I know exactly ZERO about adult scoliosis braces. However, when you need to go to one - it's good to know there are physician's like Dr. Steven Selden, an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in sports medicine, who are willing and able to put you back together and keep you moving forward. As an athlete himself, he knows that injuries however big or small can be earth shattering to his patients - whether they are sports enthusiasts or not. I have been seeking treatment with him for several years for various ailments - from several bouts of tendinitis to a more recent stress injury - and he has always been very caring and compassionate - answering all of my questions and concerns and taking the time to make sure I understate my diagnosis and treatment options. I have never felt rushed and always feel that I have received a thorough examination. Additionally, the staff at Orthopedic Associates of Central Connecticut, where he practices, have always worked at a level of professionalism that has not wavered even on my worse days. They see a variety of pain and suffering daily but have always been pleasant to me and others that I have seen them interact with while waiting to see Dr. Selden. I always hope that when I finally get a clean bill of heath that this will be the last time I will need to see Dr. Selden, but I am appreciative and comforted by the fact that if necessary, he will be there to get me back on the road - literally - to recovery

Everyone is in tune with each other creating a wonderful surgical and recovery experience. They have their own operating facility in Hartford that is brand new and state of the art.
